Hey, WAYYY Late to the game on this reaction but I'll give you a little context about this performance. Carly Simon has admitted that she gets stage fright to the point of panicking and stammering when she tries to talk. She had stopped performing live for many years but decided to hold this concert near where she lives in Martha's Vineyard and invited locals and close friends. The "Itsy Bitsy Spider" part is an analogy for persevering, not giving up and trying again after something goes wrong, which is the theme of the song "Coming Around Again".
Seeing her name in your Playlist is another great reason for me to just smile, again. This video has over 9.2 MILLION views. I believe the concert is at Martha's Vineyard. I had this performance of VHS tape in 1989 when I move to West Africa. I would show my difference movies and concerts to some of my neighbors.. This one was loved by everyone. I love this song.
Love Carly, thank you for doing her songs. I can still see our oldest when she was 2-3 years old, doing the Itsy Bitsy Spider part with her hands. I used to play this song in the car when we were stationed in Cape Cod back in the early 90’s. I can see her now,!8 would look up into the rear view mirror when the spider part came on and she would be singing it and doing it with her hands. She is 31 now with a 3 year or her own. Time sure flies doesn’t it. Goodness this song 🎶 brings back so many memories.

Song “You’re so vain” Carly has never said which of her ex boyfriends she wrote that song about. Mick Jagger (singer Rolling Stones)was a popular guess. I think you can rule him out since he sings backup vocals in that song. I think it’s about James Taylor.

@@AliasMark69 Carly confirmed only verse two is about Warren Beatty, though he thinks the entire song is about him. The other verses are about other men, whom Carly has never told them and won't reveal because of that.

In case YT ever goes down I have my favorites secured. I put them in artist playlist like you have and the names are awesome, the songs are legendary.
