Indeed, even as a man I felt sympathy for Hagar being put out for doing no wrong. She cried out and the Lord heard her though! 🙂

Well that’s the whole point of those stories. So we as the reader see how sinful man really is! No one said Abraham was perfect. Neither are the things he did. And your feelings about it may be right. But no one is perfect except Jesus and that’s why we gotta read these stories with that truth in mind. Cus even though Abraham was righteous, he was flawed and full of sin. The lack of sin isn’t what makes him righteous tho either. It’s his faith and full trust in Jesus that makes him righteous. And that’s also a key take away. So we are flawed and broken, Jesus isn’t. Yet he died for us and for those that are saved, our sins are forgiven. And we have the privilege of reading thousand year old stories of the first sinful peoples to be righteous in Christ and how these people fell and got back up a million times over. So we gotta learn from their mistakes. The mistakes are meant to teach us. In other words your feelings to feel some kind of way are part of the process of seeing the truth as it really is.. and that’s that Jesus loves us even tho we do some really dumb stuff in our lives. His forgiveness truly is astounding.
