Let us all remember that forgiveness is a gift from God. We CANNOT forgive in our own strength. Only through the GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ through the POWER of Holy Spirit can we forgive those who have hurt us. We CAN go boldly to the throne of grace and ask God to give us virtue to do this❤

The trouble with what you say is that although it might be true in theory, it is not actually literally true. It is in fact possible to forgive, as Jesus told us to do. I know people who forgive truly and deeply without any evidence of divine grace at all. They are obeying Jesus without even believing in him.

My manager at work became pregnant & after she had her child she arrived back..BUT with her boyfriend. His spirit made me angry how bossy, rude, arrogant & unmannerly he was. I stopped saying "GM" and ignored my coworkers. I even became rude and called off twice on the day OF- POINT IS, I had hate for them and disliked them with such a passion I shut down at work. I prayed about it, & the LORD put this video on my feed for a reason. God works in mysterious ways...I will humble myself after watching this. He is constantly bringing single mothers home and takes advantage of them. He literally makes my skin crawl. I've been praying hard for him and to not be disgusted by him. I avoid him at all costs. I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. His behaviour is disgusting and unacceptable and should not be tolerated in the workplace. We are commanded to forgive however the Bible does not tell us to continue in relationships with people who have damaged us or are still damaging us, family or not. In fact, the Scriptures are full of teachings instructing us to leave relationships with wicked or evil people, to be separate from them, to shun, outcast, and purge them from our midst. It reminds me that, we can't like everyone's personalities/actions and vice versa, but I'd still help that person if they needed it and I'd still share the Gospel with them. It brings the focus back to whats important and helps me forgive and move on from the encounter

This is also something Bishop MarMari quoted in one of his sermons, “When someone slaps your right cheek turn to them your other cheek- doesn’t just necessarily mean to force them into treating you as an equal, but also you must choose to use the cheek that is cool, calm and hasn’t been hurt, that way you won’t retaliate using your struck cheek which is red, pampered, hot and heavy by pain. Always choose your other cheek rather than obeying to the one that is expecting you to harm one of God’s misbehaving children.

Consider that God reconciled us to Himself through the blood of Christ. He forgave us of our sins, but He also restored us to relationship with Himself. That reconciliation required our repentance. Repentance is the key to any hopes for reconciliation in our estranged relationships today. So it's important to understand that you can forgive someone without resuming contact or picking a relationship back up. You can forgive someone even if you know you can never have the same relationship.
Depending on the circumstances, you may even need to avoid contact.

Forgiveness doesn't come easily. I know that I'm not the only one struggling with this. Often it helps to imagine when Jesus was on the cross. Some people shook their heads mocking him. They knew nothing of him. What prayer he did on that cross keeps helping me persevere. Sometimes it's so harsh and hurts a lot. To be misunderstood, to be blamed for. To be despised. But that cannot be the reason that I can hate them or get angry toward them. I know Jesus did the opposite. I HOPE I CAN JUST THINK OF HIM through all this.❤ and looking forward to watch this!!

i have difficulty understanding why the tree of knowledge/good and evil was created. i have difficulty appreciating why a 'loving god' would put a thing such as that in the garden. why create temptation a thing that god would know would be the downfall of man upon creating it ...[?]
trauma has devastated my life as has not having good examples [of how to live] shown to me. my life atm is heavy after a lifetime of trauma and hardship.
i will persist in learning from gods word and will continue to take guidance from this and other channels but i wonder if i will ever be able to heal and wonder if i will ever feel at peace.

@@kk-qy4sc So, I think the tree of knowledge of good and evil was not inherently bad on it's own. It is that man disobey that led to sin. Both the temptation and the sin of man is as a result of God's will. God want those that serve him not robot. But I think this "theology" is not what you need with the story you shared.
I can't imagine what you're going through. I just want to say that you are heard. And God's hears you. He says that He will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is stay on Him (Ish 26:3). Keep trusting God as you said. I would also recommend that you take stock on the good things in your life. Write it down if possible. Appreciate God for that. Rejoice in it.
See the "bad" from a good standpoint and things might change. Don't compare yourself with others but compare your today with yesterday.

Why did i decide to reply you? Who am i? Where am i from? Where was i born? When was i born? You do not know. But God knows all that and more. Christ sets us free. Pains me when people complain of another, I tell them to forgive, and they 'oh hell no' ... yeh, hell is the one place they will see if they cannot. If we do not forgive, God does not forgive us. So simply spelled out in the Our Father' prayer, to do His will, not our own.

      @Grace_fisher 2 дня назад +2

Forgiving can only be done by forgetting the offence. God had literally stated that when we ask for forgiveness and he gives it to us, he also forgets the very thing that we did. God has chosen to let go of every bad decision you have made the second you begged him to forgive you. Therefore when he also states “you must forgive others as I have forgiven you” we need to forget what may have happened or otherwise we aren’t actually forgiving that person, just choosing to be nice to them is different. Not forgetting what they’ve done actually keeps you and that other person disabled and unable to move forward in any improvement- When they either ask you to forgive them or you choose to forgive them first whoever forgives can now officially move forward with no knowledge of the past. You need to trust in them as an entirely new human being who can now actually change their ways and do better- you need to put that trust in their hands every time so that they can feel the permission to now be better- But also not because they deserve it but because God expects you to. 🙏❤️ I love you all very much, and I mean this wholeheartedly.

I love how these guys make the Bible and especially Jesus' teachings make sense. So often we have to know the culture of the time for Jesus' parables and teachings to understand His message. thank you BibleProject. God Bless you

In this current generation, its really hard to apply these Sermons on the Mount as we are because we don't know what it means to do this such as offering the right cheek, people suing each other, loving your neighbor, etc
Unless we go back in Jesus's Era to understand what it means. This video is a great representation of analogy and explanation.

I really appreciate you pointing out the theme of self-respect here. It's not immediately clear to me living in a totally different culture. I've always read that passage feeling as though Jesus was advocating constantly letting people walk all over you. But I understand much better now.

    ...wow!!! 🫶
Visually what touched me in a profound way was the line and the footprints made by the goat-herder + the shepherdess that had been filled in by the rain in the last scene.
So much can be drawn from the imagery & the meaning of it. 🙏

Amen! Absolutely love the way you guys broke this down with absolute simplicity. It can be difficult to forgive and love our enemies but once you reach that point you feel God even more. Jesus is love and I find satisfaction in pleasing him. Again we are human and this can be challenging at times but once we surrender our emotions it becomes easier and peaceful. Be wise as as a serpent and harmless as a dove❤❤❤

God spent six years making me question my values. But in this sixth year of refinement, I’m starting to realize that while throwing out the false doormat virtues a monster conditions into their “property,” and blocking corrupting and depraved people from my heart, I probably overdid it, and threw out a few strong virtues what would actually welcome good people, and deter the cruel, being like tall walls of refuge for the good. I guess as long as I have my space, I might as well consider what a good relationship actually is, how to stop compromising, and who is worth nurturing and protecting, once I am free. Perhaps the opposite may happen. Maybe doing these things could lead to my freedom.

    1) Pray for those who bother you
    (you can do it alone)
    2) Praise those who curse you
(needs to be told to someone)
    3) Do good to those who offend you and hate you
(needs to be done to the enemy himself)
To remember, I noted this way
    Pray
    Praise
    Pay back with good

There are things and events in the bible that are/were kept in mystery, indeed. But when we meet our Creator and if there will be a chance for us to ask, then let's ask Him all these unfathomable questions that we have. I think what is more important for now in this earthly life of ours is to continue the loving way that Jesus have shown us and told us to do, because love sets free, give rest and gives peace.

I won't be alone in saying that I needed this, but I also struggle with what to do. I told off my neighbours for neglecting/abusing their dog and now they completely shut me out of their lives. I have been trying to be as loving as possible, I have done my best to avoid strife and offer olive branches, but again and again I get metaphorically spit in the face. Worst of all, the dog is the one that suffers the most because of it. Please pray for me and this dog. I know my neighbours aren't inherently evil monsters, they're just stubbornly ignorant about what a dog needs, and this dog deserves a much better life. If peace is possible, then fine, but I am so utterly lost and confused as to what I'm supposed to do in this situation. How can I bless my enemies when them getting blessing (financial, peace, whatever) would cause them to grow deeper in pride and cause them to turn farther away from God? How can I bless my enemies when it would just give them more reason to refuse to repent? I need a miracle... Lord, help me...

Recently, I tested the first one and felt a lot better wishing that the person bothering me get to know better the will of our Lord and finds the only real peace in doing it...
Just wishing (and vivedly imagining) this with truth, already made me cry...
Then I tested the second one and felt really better, equally....
Now I gotta test the third, that one is hard...
But I already unserstood that this exercises aren't about the neighbor, but about ourselves, it is about cleaning our hearts out of bad feelings and filling them with love
