I stopped at a gas station. When I went in the bathroom, I checked the paper towels and they had none. So I used the bathroom didn't wash. Went up to the guy at the counter and shook his hand and put my other hand on top of his hand and said I just wanted to thank you for doing such a good job cleaning the bathroom. You didn't put any papertowels in there so I didn't wash my hands. I used a moist towelette when I got to my truck.
LOL I would had done the same...
I clean at a place and if you put paper towels there they get stolen. If you have a machine it will disappear. It’s sad!

I am a Customer Service Rep for an insurance company and I ALWAYS try to be upbeat, positive, polite, and LISTEN to what the customer is saying. There are times when I am unable to get a disgruntled customer happy but those kinds of calls don't happen all the time. Usually, I can turn the customer around to not being so unhappy. So, to hear of people like that in any kind of convenience store or fast food act like that is ridiculous! I like your attitudes of being positive...don't let them get you down!!!!!
That is why I have a camper, when we go places we have our bathroom and our kitchen with us! Need a sandwich? We have access to snacks, lunch, drinks in the refrigerator and a clean bathroom! Wet wipes work wonderful when needed!😊❤
I have had a few bad experiences with customer service but I must give a huge shout out to the young lady at a McDonald’s somewhere in Oklahoma we stop there with a party of 15 people she took our order with a smile lead us to an area with tables to accommodate us delivered our food to us and checked on us brought us refills all with a smile. She got and deserved a. Good tip and Thank you

Happy you all had a fantastic time! I used to work in fast food many years ago and I had a customer who got his order wrong. He was irate and yelling at me and I said sir calm down and let me make this right for you. I'm sorry it wasn't what you wanted. I offered to make it over and give him his money back and throw in something extra . He didn't want anything I offered. He said I want your job ! I tried my best to make him happy and he wasn't having it . He continued and by this time I was getting upset and told him..I don't know what you want me to do..I can't make you happy. He said again I want your job . Soil started to take off my apron and told him that you can have my job because I have to deal with people like you . I have so many stories but that one I remember. Customer service is hard sometimes with people like that. 😊❤
You're exactly right David, it feels like we are pressured to give a tip regardless if the service is good or bad. With the rising prices on everything, it makes it hard to be too generous with the tips but I do what I can..❤

We just got a new 3 year old dog and when we got to our house and got her out of the truck she jumped out of our arms and was missing 2 1/2 days. She kept coming back but was so scared. With all the shooting and fireworks it's no wonder she would be scared. Don't give up.

There is no excuse for rudeness in any job, whether or not you are behind the desk or face to face. I had a customer who was stealing some mdse and i confronted him and he took a pot shot at my face with his fist and i ducked. This was one of the street people who visited our store daily and we treated him with kindness etc, but this one day he acts up and i almost took a right upper cut to my face. He was arrested only to come back regularly. I am a female if anyone's wondering. I was working for a major drug store chain. Mike i hope they dont find anything real serious when u go to the hospital for x-rays etc, and it was visible on your face with the pain. Praying for relief soon. Love you guys, from a Mphs fan.

My husband is a truck driver and he tells me all the time that the workers at the truck stops are always rude . And are always out of everything when it comes to the restaurant.
Hi David, Mike, Lyssa and girls. Bad attitude is whereever you go these days. It's the same here in the UK and hubby and I are now more or less reclusive. We only talk to family, and to be honest, I fear for my grandkids future. I am an old woman with serious health conditions, hubby younger but a bad heart. Two years ago my neigbour decided to smash our front door in with a massive sledgehammer in a drunken stupour. We were eating our evening meal when it happened, watching the news. What the hell is wrong with people these days? Anyway guys, from what I see you are all kind and as you know i been watching you all for a few years. You are my heroes in the way you all get on so well nd are prepared to give and take but most of all, you show your love for eachother as a community.So, in my honest and humble way, you are heroes as you are all saving eachother when needed. We have stopped going out for meals now because the food is poorly cooked and very expensive, and usually cold or thrown at you. Also no friendly chat any more from waitresses. ❤❤❤❤
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. Little Lillian will probably stay hidden for three days. Syd needs to call a vet and borrow a trap for small domestic pets and set the trap. I’m part of a group here that traps for dogs and cats that are lost in our area. We are able to find many and reunite them with their owner. What a reunion that is. The backseat is very different on the ride home then on the way down. David, you’ve got cars passing you on the left and the right L O L.

My youngest Grandaughter was an Assistant manager at a Culvers. She would try to be nice to people who were upset. She has been called every name in the book and had food and drinks thrown on her. It became much worse after Covid. She came down with it 4 times.
New York above Syracuse, gas attendant said I couldn't go pee, I said we have dual tanks on the truck to fill , but not here buddy how bout that!! Said we wasn't normally customers... cause we ha Pennsylvania farm tags
Hey, your friend from Wyoming here. I live in a small town. Customer service isn't what it used to be. That's for sure. But nothing like what you described here. Sheesh. I'm 60 years old , and I will call them on their sh*t. I think most of us old folks will. Lol. Then I instantly want to know why this managers employees are so unhappy. Lol. Like I said it's a smaller town. You get smart with me...I want your mama and grandma's names.

David. Why are you running the 2nd lane pulling a trailer. You need to be on the sholder and use the 2nd or middle lane to pass only. You have cars and Trucks passing you on the Right..cmom on man!!

@philipparcel2548 not only that if something happens like a flat or say a Axle breaks, all 3 lanes are closed and possible Accidents. On the sholder you only have the left lane to worry about.
It sounds to me like a lot of people live in areas where the major highways stay straight, and never divide up or off to stay in the same direction. Here in NY, you stay in the lane that takes you where you are going, regardless of which lane it becomes. Left, Right, or Center.
Subway has a tip jar. Beautician's expect a tip and they charge a lot to start with
you are 100 % right dave !!. customer service is bad :( . when i heard about people working fast food wanted $15.00 a hr. I was like what hold on a min. now they have the self order screens. don't get me started because I work unloading trailers with packages that's physical work. people these days think everything should be handed to them.

We won't do the group tip thing either. Like at the coffee cabin. We don't put that in a cup. That goes straight to the person serving us. Nothing like a lazy employee getting half the tips.
Did ya tip’em?! I’m being facetious, but that seems to be the expectation. I on occasion would like to go out, but have virtually stopped doing that. Most places have priced themselves out of the market because of service, and quality and mostly attitude. So I prepare at home and get what I want how I want it and the only attitude is mine sitting on my patio in the quiet. And enjoying it!
So sorry about little Lillian I hope she shows up soon. When yall were describing Jason grabbing the 4 wheeler the song Big John went through my head lol. Jason now is Big Bad John lol. Maybe it was a good thing I didn't go to Mississippi lol. Because if people are that rude I will get the number of the corporation. I was a store manager for way to long. I will turn them in lol. That was one thing if my workers had a bad attitude I gave them a reason to have one I would send them home for the day and tell them not to return unless they had a better attitude.
Contact corporate! They will do something!

Hey Dave and Mike, smelly attitudes seem to be more frequently encountered. We don’t approach them with smelly attitudes, we are shopping for what we need. It costs nothing to smile, be helpful, and show some respect. My worst was a mower repair shop, I was treated like a child and told that” you know these mowers need basic maintenance so this shouldn’t happen” my response was I maintain the machine and I have no control over sealed bearings blowing a seal and if in a hidden location within the mower chassis it’s not seen early, more heard when it’s too late. I told him that I didn’t want to pay the bill because of his erroneous assumption. He didn’t apologize, I didn’t pay.
Have to agree with you about customer service it is lousy another thing I can't stand is when you order something at a restaurant and then your waitress tells you how much for a tip she wants I am at a point now that I don't go to restaurants no more

Remember when you pulled up to get gas and they not only pumped your gas, but they checked your oil and washed your windshield for free. I don't remember if you were even allowed to tip, as it was their job.

I was a waitress for 45 years raised my child payed rent and bought food on tips I gave great service and my tips proved it highest tip i received was a thousand dollars for a 12 dollar bill ❤my pay was 2.38 hour lol

I went to Taco John’s (northwest fake Mexican fast food.) The servers are a very young crowd. They are the sweetest kids! So cheerful & kind! But they need a lot more training. But it’s so worth the money just to come in contact with the young people that work there.

My worst customer service was greyhound bus 3 years ago in Atlanta Georgia. Our bus was over 6 hours late. People was waiting for hour and all you got was they did not no anything. Gave no assistance to anyone. And they and security was yelling at people who just finishing eating and drinking to put their masks on. All we heard was the mask. No assistance for elderly people or people with children with their lounge. It turned me off from ride with them again.
I went on line and gave a bad review to the company along with others.
All I can say is complain to the company and make sure they now the exact location of the service station.
Haven't noticed a big problem with customer service in Huntsville, AL area. People are generally nice. The tipping thing is probably because the businesses don't want to pay their employees enough.
Yall i love close to the Alabama Gulf Coast and I pretty much work there most days. Some of the restaurants are charging for refills now. Like some places it's close to 4 bucks a drink (no alcohol). Inflation is inflationing.
I totally agree with you. I worked in customer service for alot of years and no matter how rude a customer might be I would kill them with kindness. There were a couple of times that I called this old man darling and one day his wife came in and said your the one that calls my husband darling and honey. I thought she was going to yell at me, but instead thanked me for making her 82 year old husband feel special.

It has just been unreal how many places ask you for a tip for doing their on jobs, drive thru to stores wanting to you round up your change to them to the nearest dollar. Like you said David it is out of control. I am a good tipper for good service with out the all the bad attitude. Prayer goes out for Mike healing and Lillian to be found.
