I love that her mother is her fashion icon. My mother was my fashion inspiration as well. She grew up poor and when she began earning more money, she invested in a limited wardrobe of classic
, quality pieces. She’d shop the sales at Saks, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. I still have her Salvatore Ferragamo and Bruno Magli shoes and she kept her clothes in excellent condition. She felt that she couldn’t spend money on trends, not that she cared for trends. She was truly my fashion icon.
I think scarves are slept on as accessories. They can add just the right touch to a classic, minimal outfit. Every woman in my mother’s time wore silk scarves and I have to remind myself to wear mine more often. I love a scarf wrapped around the handle of a handbag or worn as a headband. Very chic!
