Angelina was writing what she calls "wishes" for the producer and the band.
After musicians work with her, they call her the boss. You'll see the same ones again in many of her videos.
The lady was her grandma, who is a famous painter, helping her set up in the booth.
In some of her videos you'll see a blond lady, sometimes crying. That's her mother. :)
They've turned down endless offers, including Disney, tv shows, producers, etc, keeping Angelina in school.
She plays piano, guitar and violin, writes her own songs, and speaks several languages. English is not native to her.
We are blessed to have her. I'm literally glad to be alive while she's on the earth.

Just subscribed DWG, your subscriptions are going to go way up now. Angelina Jordan is possibly the greatest female singer of our time and can sing anything and do it beautifully and consistently. Most of the time she only needs one take, but you’ll find all this out and be witness to it yourself. I remember when I first listened to her I thought this can’t be true she must be an alien her talent is literally overwhelming to the human senses that we just can’t believe what we’re hearing every time she sings. She is a God sent. Some of her cover songs you will notice her reading lyrics to the song looking over her shoulder to her computer for the words and yet it sounds like she is totally familiar with the song she is singing, and with such emotion and feeling, she brings me to tears with many of her songs flooding your senses with amazement and wonder.
What Angelina has cannot be taught it's a gift.

The original of this song is a 1956 jazz classic by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, the man on the candle at the beginning. This performance is an homage to his version and it's the best I've ever heard.

I've been listening to and following her career since 2016. Her first televised performance was "Gloomy Sunday" on Norway's Got Talent. She was 7 years old when she won that one. She's my favorite, very amazing singer. You are now in her spell.

This has been covered hundreds of times since 1956 when Screaming Jay Hawkins wrote it, this is Angelinas own arrangement based on the original and is, in my opinion, possibly the best ever done...at 9 years old. She is mostly self taught and self motivated, a true music prodigy. What she has done over the years is mind bending, besides her vocal abilities she has helped raise over $25 million through concerts for charities that help the needy....she has had incredible depth as a human since she was a child.

I Put a Spell On You is an outlier performance for Angelina, and is not a style you will hear repeated in her other songs. May I suggest as an introduction to Angelina you go back to the beginning and listen to her NGT performances at ages 7/8, then jump to her Adele cover of All I Ask and her original 7th Heaven as a 14/15 year old. This will show you where she started and where she is now, and then you can enjoy the other 130+ masterpieces she has on YT.

The best young singer in the world. It may be argued that there are singers who are "technically" better, but no one has a better emotional connection and makes you feel the music like Angelina.

@@rickhilde8281 To me? Nobody off the top of my head. It seems a lot of people associate vocal range and power with great singing. Angelina certainly has those qualities as well but perhaps not as much as some singers. Of course she has many other technical singing skills to go along with her great feel. I mean I hear many people saying Dimash is the best singer on the planet, and while I appreciate the things he does, he doesn't move me like Angelina does.

She started singing with 18 months and has more than 130 covers from different artists and 4-5 original songs. She always performed barefoot. There’s a beautiful story behind this. She won Norways Got Talent when she was 8 years old and she went too to America’s Got Talent with 13 years.
Actually she’s an artist of the Republic Records Label and is 15.

She chooses all her own songs & does all her own arrangements ever since she was very young, even when she did Screaming Jay Hawkins “I put a spell on you” the B&W version, at barely 9, even at 7 & 8 on NGT (Norway’s Got Talent).
On AGT Angie made her outfit from silkscreen patterns of her grandma's art work. She makes several of her other outfits for shows & concerts too. She also paints great, plays 5 instruments & speaks & sings 4+ languages, English being her 3rd. Angie turned 15 on 1-10-21 & she’s around 6 ft tall. Angie is a very kind, giving, loving, respectful, humble & a big hearted Christian girl. She always sings barefoot when performing & she wrote a book about it at 9 called “Between Two Worlds” & she was/is the youngest to be published in Norway. I'll give you a link to her 1st released single by Republic records titled “Million Miles” She wrote this shortly after her 2nd grandpa died in Nov. 2019, she was 13 & her 1st grandpa died in 2018. When Laura won Romania's Got Talent in 2016. She donated half of her prize money (about 120,000 euros) to help the poor and underprivileged in that country. She has since gone on to do
numerous concert performances and has released a number of singles. She donates half of the income from that to the poor and needy as well. She made it to the finals & she didn't sign with ATG just like Angelina Jordan & she got 6th place also. But now Laura & Angie are on their way to being bigger than AGT, In real life, Laura is a kind, loving respectful & giving Christian girl. And she also arranged the whole song wich she does on mlst of her songs. In the beginning you can see she writes on some paper that her changing the notes and handing it to the musician..

1. You can now listen to and enjoy one of if not the best vocalist I and many other 1000's have heard in their lifetime and you can enjoy most if not all of her 135 videos on you tube to react to
2. She's 9 on this video and started to sing at the age of 18 months. They refused to participate on Norway got talent at the age of five claiming that she was to young. Her performing barefoot is because of an event that happened when she was 6 years old while travelling in Asia, She noticed a shoeless girl her age that was weighting people with an old scale for money on the side of the road. She was an orphan girl. They talk for a while and Angelina gave her shoes. Since then she decide to perform barefoot has a way to raise awareness of kids poverty in the third world. It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this!
"I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a jazz classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). She starts low, rising in intensity throughout and finishes in an unexpected and practically operatic style. You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). I'm always happy to see more and more people get to know Angelina Jordan and appreciate her talent. Not gonna lie, she's my all time favourite singer already, although she's just a teen. She's not your typical cool and sexy hip-hop type of girl, she doesn't rely on autotune, she simply relies on her raw vocals; vocals and a skill set that no one other possesses. I'm not talking about hitting the notes perfectly; others like Dimash can do that, or in fact any other opera singer can do that, however nobody can reproduce Angelina's tone, she's unique, she's a true artist. She's not about fame and money, but rather she touches people's hearts and she sings for a good cause, e.g. supporting children's charities (that's why she performs without shoes). If I talked about an adult here that wouldn't be special, but we're talking about a child that's on par with all the seasoned pro singers already! There were several occasions when she covered a song in one take and it was at least as good as the original if not better. By the time she reaches adulthood she'll have accomplished more than most other singers will ever accomplish in a lifetime.

Why is Angelina barefoot? When Angie was 6 and living in the middle east, she met an orphan girl, weighing people on the street for money, who was cold and barefoot with scarred feet. Angie gave the girl her favorite boots she was wearing. The girl promised to pray for Angelina to achieve her dreams. From that day on Angelina promised never to wear shoes while performing until all the children of the world had shoes, clothes and food. She has kept that promise for 9 years till today. When Angie was 9 she wrote a book about it called "Mellom to hjerter" ("Between Two Hearts") and became Norway’s youngest published author.

I think you might be surprised she’s looking up at the beginning holding a prayer candle with the original artist picture Screaming Jay Hawkins. She could not sell that cover if she sang it in high notes. It’s an adult song. She wrote & arranged the music the way she wanted it done. Indeed Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy but the only one I know of who specializes in vocals. Screamin Jay Hawkins (pictured on the candle) wrote and performed this song in 1956. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019.

Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7.
Angelina at age 6 and 7 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
Angelina is blessed with a deep voice with a beautiful rich tone and has always made her sound much older than her age. Many compare her voice to that of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is highly emotional which is very rare for a young girl and some people can’t accept that such a soulful voice can come from someone who has not had enough life experience. One vocal coach on RUclips recently said, “If you have a song and want to have more emotion added to that song, have Angelina sing it.”
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on NGT was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
The next performance on NGT was her cover of Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. Angelina’s acapella performance is astounding especially for a girl who had just turned 8.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
On June 27, 2018 Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London.
Angelina performed on America’s Got Talent The Champions which aired in January 2020. She earned the Golden Buzzer for her performance of her arrangement of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. She sang her cover of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in the Finals but didn’t make it into the final 5 contestants. There is much debate over how and why Angelina was eliminated.

Certainly not many adults know him, certainly the only girl in the world who knows him and who also thinks of singing him without any fear is she. This is Angelina, the incredible magical little girl. It's incredible that this adaptation is all her own (the sheets written) and that at that age she was able to evaluate and transform, according to her sensitivity, such a particular and powerful song 😊 ❤️ This is probably the best reinterpretation made by a singer in over 60 years of this song.
