Most people can tell how great Angelina is just by listening to one song, but something I've noticed watching Angelina reactions over the years... professional singers and musicians seem to get how great she is in only a few notes. Literally seconds is all it takes.

I love this child. Signed to Republic records just this year. Has recently released her first original recording with Republic entitled Million Miles, inspired by her beloved grandfather who passed away in 2018. I probably listened to that song 50 times the day it was released and cried all day long. Simply beautiful. Looking forward to following her career over the years to come. Hi Carla, actually she dedicated "Always on My Mind" to her grandfather who died in March '18, but "Million Miles" was written last winter after her second grandfather died in Nov.'19... She was working with production team Stargate on the song when one of them had the owner of Republic listen to it, which prompted the process of creating a contract she and her family could agree on.
Yep, you just got a new subscriber. I'm 66 and have been following this young lady for about 5 years. Every time I hear her sing, and I've listened to the approximately 130 songs she has on RUclips dozens of times each, I still am amazed. It doesn't have to be next, but you must react to her black and white version of Screaming Jay Hawkins 1956 original "I Put A Spell On You", just after she turned 9 years old. If Rusty Shackleford comments, you must read the short biography of her that he shares with those that are just discovering Angelina. I look forward to your journey of her songs.
You should watch her version of I Put a Spell On You, Black and White version. She’s still only 9 years old, but she’s got a lot of tricks in her bag and she will blow you away.

the intricacies of jazz at such an early age. As remarkable as this performance is, listen to her
first audition on Norway's Got Talent when she sang Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday. The girl, at 7,
sounds just like Billie. Makes me believe in reincarnation.

Now, please go to earlier this year when Angelina was 13 and sang her incredible version of Bohemian Rhapsody that will just stun and freeze you. You said she’s adorable here-she’s world class now. Angelina is the best singer, the most unique talent, I’ve ever heard and I’ve followed music since the 1950’s.
After Bohemian Rhapsody, you can go anywhere through over 100 songs in many different genres that she just kills. Describing her singing is impossible. Just listen to a couple more and you’ll be hooked for life.

My problem now is, that I compare her with all the new talent discovered the last couple of years, even established ones, and she is above and way too good to even try to compare any more. Bohemian Rhapsody was the first song I heard Angelina sing. Since then I am hooked. She has over 130 songs on YT and I have listened to all of them, several times, - not one poor or even average performance amongst them.

This was 8 year old Angelina's winning performance at Norway's Got Talent. Before this she did Gloomy Sunday (Billie Holiday), I'm a Fool to Want You (Billie Holiday) a capella, and Bang Bang (Nancy Sinatra).

After Angelina's first audition on Norway's Got Talent (she sang 'Gloomy Sunday' which was also gobsmackingly amazing) one of the judges said "you are music" which is a good description of Angelina. The same judge said "the rasp in her voice sounded like she had been sipping whisky since she was borne".
Angelina is a true prodigy. She is able to find and convey the deepest feelings from any song.

Barry welcome to Angelina's world and her legion of angels (fans). Angelina is a music prodigy specializing in vocals, the only such prodigy I know of. As talented as she is, she is an even better human being, filled with empathy. She has promised to always perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Here is how that mission began.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina befriended this girl who was wearing soiled clothing and no shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina so moved by the poor girl, took off her favorite sea green ankle boots and gave them to the poor shoeless girl. Angelina promised the girl she would perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
She genuinely gets the genre. That, more than her voice, is astonishing to me. And her voice is astonishing too.

This is my favorite performance from Norway's got talent of hers, so I am glad you started here, not that the others are any less spectacular (And the shock of we don't know what to expect on the judges faces can best be seen in her first performance, Gloomy Sunday, when she tells them 'I am going to sing for you' and they ask her what song and she calmly announces 'Gloomy Sunday from Billy Holliday' already shocking the judges before she even sings the first note, sounding like a 50 year old jazz singer). Her album, Magic, is American songbook standards. she stands right next to Billie, Ella, and Nina. not joking, no hyperbole. Ive been listening for two years and it's never not stunning. listen to all her stuff, its a balm for the soul.

Hi Barry, I discovered Angelina about 5 years ago, when the only videos available were her journey in Norway’s Got Talent, and an open air concert of her singing What a Difference a Day Makes. I knew then she was destined for great things.
As you know she is now 14 yrs old, and apart from taking part in AGT The Champions, which you really must review, she has just released her first self penned single called Million Miles. This will bring you to tears I’m sure. Angelina is definitely a one off, just like our Dimash is, and once you’ve been touched by her voice and style, you won’t want to stop listening to her. Like I always say to first-timers, you have no idea what's coming next and there is no way anyone could. As stuning as this performance was you can look forward to dozens upon dozens of equallly good and better ones.

You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (120+ covers and original songs - all on YT) and you will see! Consider reacting when this young lady at 13yo steps before a huge audience with judges and totally controls the room down to the pin drop level, starts a cappella, and completely transforms Bohemian Rhapsody (which might be the most iconic song on the planet) and does it superbly with calm and confidence. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Gershwin to Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Etta James to Miley Cyrus (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or an 80 piece military band. She has gone from adorable 8 year old here to a stunningly beautiful (inside and out) 14 year old now! She is a very humble, kind, giving, humanitarian soul who has raised over 22 million dollars for underprivileged children and environmental causes around the world in the past several years. She recently signed with Republic Records (same label as Taylor Swift and the late Amy Winehouse) in August, and released her first single with them in November called "Million Miles." But she wrote 3 others before that between the ages of 11 and 12 called (in order of writing) "What Is Life?", "Oslo" (about her hometown), and "Shield" (in honor of her family and those who have protected her on her career growth and journey). She is not just a national treasure to Norway; she is a planetary treasure!
So happy you started with one of her earlier performances, for the sheer shock value of hearing such talent and soulfulness from such a little girl! Her Billy Holiday covers are priceless gems! Her recent performances on America's Got Talent are every bit as wonderful, too!!!

Angelina is one of the most unique and talented singers I have heard for a very long time. She has such an original sound and style that you do not hear much anymore - showing her love of jazz from such a young age. She is now 14 and her voice remains brilliant. Please react to more Angelina.
You are witnessing a generational talent whom happens to be a supremely gifted genius level individual. Watch her six year old studio performance of, “I who have nothing”. You will not only see a jaw dropping vocal performance, but you will also see that she is reading the lyrics. I don’t know of any other six year old child that can read at an adult level and comprehend the content. Angelina speaks four languages and she is the youngest Norwegian to have written a book and have it be published. Angelina also writes most of the arrangements to the cover songs she sings.
This now 14 year old young lady has already accomplished more than most of us will in our lifetimes. She won “Norway’s Got Talent” at the age of seven. Angelina recently signed with Republic Records and she just released her debut single. She wrote, composed and sung this timeless song that will always remain relevant as long as people suffer the loss of their loved ones. The artwork used in the animation of the official video was created and illustrated by Angelina’s grandmother whom is, herself, a very successful painter and poet.

She is incredible! She has several other songs from when she began her public career on Norway's Got Talent at 7-8 years old (Gloomy Sunday, I'm a Fool To Want You and Bang Bang), although she really began much earlier. She has many, many more covers and original songs between then and now... all wonderful! She sang on America's Got Talent: Champions at the beginning of 2020 and sang Bohemian Rhapsody, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Someone To Love. She just recently released a new single "Million Miles" about the loss of her grandfather and what he meant to her. One of her most memorable songs was recorded when she was nine called "I Put A Spell On You" (black and white studio version) and she puts on a performance that's hard to believe for someone of any age (you should definitely check it out). Welcome to Angelina's world. Buckle up if you are going to take this ride down the rabbit hole of over 120 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 14 which is her current age. She has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance.
Another thing about Angelina is that she is completely in control of the music she sings. She picks the songs and arranges them herself the way she wants them to be done. In the "I put a spell on you" video, when she was 9 years old, she is seen handing some written notes to the band director. The were her "wishes" about changes she would like in the arrangement.
Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. She has performed everywhere from small weddings of a few people, to London's O2 stadium, and Seoul South Korea with 40,000 people. She performs at jazz festivals, conferences, and charity benefits. At the age of 14, she is a seasoned performer with 8 years of recording and performing. Many of her live performances when she was 10, 11, and 12 years old blow away even the original adult performers of the songs she sings. She is definitely worth your time to experience and get to know. She has covered Sinatra, Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Queen, Miley Cyrus, Patsy Cline, James Brown, Lana Del Rey, Norma Jones, Adele, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Screamin Jay Hawkins, and many more. Angelina spent many hours listening to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, perhaps she couldn't decide which style she liked the most, so she put it in the blender and came out with this. You will notice she keeps a sharp on the trumpet player, she had a job making him play it the way she wanted, but in the end he must have known that she got it right...
Les, the other thing I get a kick out of is, before she hits that special long and high note she gave us one of those patented Angelina smiles while performing. She really didn't do it in the previous three songs.

Barry... I love seeing someone who has never heard Angelina before be genuinely awestruck by her ability and seemingly unnatural talent. You should review her other NGT songs before diving into her 3 original songs and over a hundred covers in which she is able not only hold her own but usually make them better than the original. All before she was in her teens. A truly gifted singer, composer, interpreter of songs. I to will ride along on your journey. I love your format of reacting then commenting.

She now has an EP of 6 songs and will soon release her album including the already released songs from the EP. She just had her debut concert in Portsmouth NH last night sonof course we are waiting for the footage of that bit. I am psyched! ❤

Great reaction/review Barry! See, you chose the same performance through which I met Miss Angelina Jordan at 8 yo. So I could relate very much with your reaction. After watched this I was left there with no words left, jaw dropped on the floor. Never heard/saw anything like that. Since then I follow this already legendary young lady, now at 14 yo, who IMO is one of the greatest singers/performers the world have saw (and still will see). And after watch all her immense library here in YT I can assure you this is not an overstatement by me. Cheers!!
