Yeah we're gonna need some James Hoffman Coffee Gummies
I came here to say this too
YES PLEASE!
Is that Roach Dogg Jr.? I did not expect this crossover.
Really hope they are in the shape of little espresso cups!
For some reason, this comment gave me the urge to make coffee gelatin. Nice cold cubes of caffeinated goodness for the summer.
One of the best James video genres is "James puts something in his mouth and immediately breaks out in laughter because it's so terrible."
His faces when tasting bad coffee products!! 😂😂
The old coffee episode, what was it, 1950's era? So great!
I can't wait for the Hames Joffman cut of these.
@@mangamaster03Is that channel back?
Idk y its so funny but i keep laughing every single time
At 13:20 is how I imagine James Hoffman would react if I were to make him a cup of coffee. Surprise, hysterical laughter, raspy "that's so bad", followed by a save of face and somewhat serious "that's not to my taste."
😆🤣
by his reaction to a pocket coffee seems like he has no actual idea how coffee is supposed to taste like
lmao same
@@majukunbruh he is a world’s barista champion, he knows about coffee
I love the fact that it almost made a fakeout by making a mess. He's so focused on the spilling for just long enough that as soon as he turns his attention back to the taste of it, it's there in full force and just catapults him into the agony.
I think those Japanese ones in the beginning that you didn't like because they tasted phenolic were actually coffee *tea* candies (based on the packaging) 珈琲茶飴 - literally "coffee tea candy". Likely, coffee mixed with hōjicha. Personally, I really like the bitter leafy quality of those but I can completely understand why they wouldn't pass the test.
I noticed the same thing. I enjoy it too, but it’s definitely a Japanese flavor. (Been in Japan a long time and learned to like it)
i had japanese green tea kitkat some time ago. it was interesting but also not quite for me 😊
@@Keex11 Green tea Kit Kat, the dark chocolate version from Japan, is waaaaaay better than any Kit Kat in NA. Got to remember that in Japanese Kit Kats, they do use some genuine ingredients. There is real green tea in japanese green tea Kit Kat. There is real bits of strawberries in japanese straberry Kit Kat. There is none of that in the NA versions. I say NA, because I'm from Canada and we pretty much get the same flavours as those in the US, sadly.
No Whittaker’s from New Zealand? Disappointing. Their coffee chocolate is superb.
Love those Japanese coffee candies. Surprised he didn’t like them lmaoo
Looking forward to the release of Hoffee Bears.
Hoffee Bears .... YES.... I sent Amazon my order, coming Thursday.
There is not much better in the world than seeing James Hoffmann joyously say “that’s so bad!”
The pocket coffee reaction was hilarious! but seriously, the biting was a mistake. I have several times did the old trick of carefully biting one side off just to drink the coffee and then eat the chocolate and doing that you realize that the coffee is way more bitter than it should be and the chocolate is extremely sweet. It is meant to be eaten as a single bite to let both complement each other. try it, even off camera, the experience is way better that way.
Not to mention the crunchy sugar in the base. Must be eaten in one go. Totally different experience.
The first time I encountered these I did the exact same response as James. The second time I did it in one go and whilst still too sweet for my taste, it really tempers the bitterness of the coffee.
If you believe the ads, you should shake the candy vigorously to (maybe?) melt the sugar layer into the coffee, even.
@@essneyallen6777 I'm Italian and I've never seen that ad nor have I ever heard of shaking pocket coffe before eating it. That's interesting. It's my favourite chocolate candy. I really was hurt by James' reaction. I took it personally for a whole half a second.
@@riukrobu eh it might have been like 10+ years ago, I was still watching actual television.
>Throws candy to the ground in a minor fit of pique
"That's not to my taste."
Always the classic British understatement.
I doubt he ate the entire candy of any candidate. They just kept him tossing that one into the bin used for all the tasted candies.
When James started the filming, he must have been thinking "Let's give Hames Joffman a LOT of material...." Many great expressions and sound effects all the way through!
this is going to be a great Hames video
A shame Hames was shut down by RUclips.

@14:29 Kopiko, recognised even without the flag and label! Hello childhood😃
It was years since I had one. I remember not liking them but then they grew in me and I loved it
I miss kopiko and it would be my favourite on straight up nostalgia basis
The cappuccino ones are even better than the coffee ones in my opinion.
@@TimeCircuits_onyeah I think he should have had the cappucino ones. I don’t really like the normal ones at all but the cappucino ones I can just devour a bag of easily
I also much prefer the cappuccino ones!
"Introduced in Germany in 193X" - is always a dangerous sentence
Well - the original contained cocain (thats where the Name comes from: Schokolade, Kokain and Kaffee) and was given to fighter pilots…
I learned 3 things from this video:
1. I want James to make a video about coffee gummies.
2. I have a surprising amount of nostalgia about the "Coffee like" candy (I swear I can taste the texture without having had one in years).
3. I wish more sweets would come in tins and I definitely need to seek out Scho-ka-kola dark
Here in Canada, Coffee Crisp is pretty divisive. There's not really anyone who thinks it's just okay; you're either a lover or a hater. I think it's delicious, but you're right that the coffee flavor isn't especially strong. But I think that makes it a little more accessible to those who aren't coffee fans, especially kids. I hated coffee as a kid, but this was always one of my favourite candy bars.
I just don't know why you would try to make a coffee candy accessible to non coffee drinkers, it doesn't make any sense to me. If you don't like coffee then don't eat it, and let the people who _do_ like coffee have an actually coffee-forward candy.
@@Blutzen Simply put, money.
I take your point, and there are plenty of different products out there that target all different types of people. If you want something that only a coffee lover would appreciate, I'm sure you can find it. But looking at it purely from a business standpoint, broadening your product's appeal and thus its customer base nets you more profit. Again, this isn't exactly a high-end product; we're just talking about candy, and nobody loves candy more than kids, so it makes sense to include them in who you're catering to.
Same, I liked coffee crisp before I liked coffee
I think of coffee crisp as like, the candy bar version of those bottles of starbucks mocha iced coffee you can get at convenience stores. Good when you want chocolatey junk food, not great when you want coffee.
I love the texture but. I actually wish there was higher qualify chocolate involved. It's "Easter chocolate".
I'm sad that the Kopiko cappuccino flavor candy didn't make an appearance. Definitely one of my favorites
my wifes fave
Very much this. For all the candies that got both variants, it's a real shame this one wasn't in there. The original is OK, but the cappuccino is much better.
Coffee crisp is my favorite- but yes. It is too sweet and it doesn’t have a fantastic coffee flavor. However, when I eat it - it feels so special it makes me happy.
Can't find it in the States. I moved from Canada 40 years ago and I still miss Coffee Crisp (it had no coffee flavour back then, the idea was to have it with a cup of coffee).
@@soniashapiro4827totally agree that coffee crisp is for eating with coffee, rather than eating it solo for a coffee flavour
About the coffee gummies; there's a German gummy brand called Bärenland that does a pretty good (at least in my opinion) coffee gummy. They're even shaped like squishy little coffee beans.
“Chocolatey eggs… of danger” is all I needed to hear today
I really want to see James develop a good coffee gummy bear, that should be his next project. It just feels like it would be delicious if done right.
Or a coffee gummy Venus de Milo?
I want a super cut of James saying “dirty” for… my own reasons.
I love pocket coffee so much. More and more, I realise my tastes are literally opposite to any coffee expert lmao
that's most of the third wave coffee. It's about lighter more acidic and sour tastes than traditional bitter dark and chocolate tastes. As James says himself, it's not to (his) taste. doesn't mean it's objectively bad, i still really enjoy dark roasts as pourovers or from moka with milk and sugar. But for espresso i like medium roasts - which is like the opposite to most people ha
You know James, I don't even like coffee, but your videos are enthralling. There is just something about listening to an expert that makes any subject fascinating.
I'm the same lol I also watch Morgan at times.
It's weird, isn't it?
I'm not a coffee person at all, nevertheless, James is such a treat. Opinionated enthusiasm. Yes!
15:45 "is anyone a winner here? It's not me." The viewer is the winner James. Because we don't have to eat all of this stuff to get answers. 🤣
Thank you for your sacrifice
weird to assume you have the same taste as James
Meanwhile me who likes Pocket Coffee (as long as the centre doesn't dry up from me forgetting to eat it again), where Kopiko is a core memory just down to where I come from, and wanted to try some Scho-ka-kola, that was a really unfortunate segment to look through.
@@Moonstone-Reduxwhat do you mean by forget to eat it again? Are you supposed to eat just half the chocolate and leave the rest for later??
This is the hard-hitting journalism I'm visiting this platform for
The pocket coffee reaction broke my heart. You eat it in one and it's so good. The sugar and the chocolate complement the bitter filling. I love those
I'd love to see a video of James trying to make his own Coffee candy/chocolate either by himself or colaborating with someone experienced in making chocolate / candy.
Similar to when he recreated his own pumpkin spice
The best coffee candy I've had was roasted coffee beans wrapped in dark chocolate. Heaven in my mouth.
Yeah, rather surprised there were no chocolate-covered coffee beans in this lineup.
I once ate beans wrapped in chololate. Awesome. No idea about what country those were made, but bought those in Finland (was not finnish made).
I tried something like this in Costa Rica and they were delicious
I already know what James's comment will be upon tasting chocolate-covered coffee beans: "Vegetably!" 😸 (PS: I kind of like coffeebean candy but I don't love it - the worst was one not only covered in chocolate but also cocoa powder, nah, not my thing)
IMO coffee beans are not meant to be chewed, chocolate-covered or not. Yuck.
Kopiko is so good, I'm so glad I discovered it and will look for it when I can. I have no doubt it was one of the most requested, it's a bit surprising you weren't so into it! I always find it starts a bit bitter then gets a creamy flavor as it goes. I don't enjoy hard candy much but this is one of the few exceptions.
Mint is one of my favorite flavors in general, especially in ice cream. I really enjoy it in coffee as well. While you dislike mint in coffee, I dislike cinnamon. I really like cinnamon things but man it just does noooooot work with coffee's flavor.
Instant hit of childhood -- the factory that does hard candy for Roshen is in my hometown, so I'm doubly proud for the winner.
Ukrainian here! Literally just ran out and bought a handful of the winner candies to share the experience!
I am going to do the same:)
ROSHEN Mentioned! Love from Kazakhstan!
Ukrainian here as well. Honesty, was more exciting to watch it than Euro Cup 😆

Hi nicole ❤❤
What!? I looove pocket coffee! Only available in the winter.
Love Pocket Coffee. Just wanted to say that. This will be hard for you to understand, but I vastly prefer it to Ferrero Rocher 😅
Also in the summer they have a special version in Italy: Pocket Coffee To Go. Which is basically what you'd get if you melted the entire thing and served it in a tiny container with a tiny straw. Amazing.
yeah it’s the OG of coffee candy. has actually coffee in it, i mean… it’s great. no wonder he didn’t like it, he didn’t eat it right and spilled the liquid inside. makes for a fun camera scene, though!
Same. It's a staple in Italy, it's a classic
Doesn't Ferrero Rocher make Pocket Coffee?
@@jerrkyd Ferrero makes both
James might not like Kopiko that much, but at least NASA astronauts like it enough to brought it during their space mission 😂😂😂
I'm surprised they didn't also grab the cappuccino flavor of Kopiko.
They say micro gravity dulls the taste buds, so maybe it tastes better in space.
The cappuccino Kopiko is so much better, though.
when looking at candy one must always look towards the biggest sleeper candy countries in the world, the Nordics, who also consume staggering amounts of coffee, Mokkabønner (mochabeans) are an amazingly pleasant and definitively coffee-forward chocolate, I assume Finland has their own stuff too, they don't mess around with candy
Yes, you could make a separate video with just Nordic coffee candy. Bring on the Fazer and Marabou here.
Does anyone else have little interest in coffee but find watching James to be a gentle, healing salve when feeling low?
As a czech a i have to confess that i have more experience with kofila as a shot then as candy. You take teaspoon of sugar and let it partially dissolve in mouth, then you take a teaspoon (maybe rather half a teaspoon) of ground coffee and small shot of cheap rum. It kinda tastes like kofila, and is usually served at like 2 am
Hard Asian coffee candies definitely have that flavour. I grew up with Chinese coffee candies and I recognize the flavours going on with the Japanese ones from James' comments.
Japanese hate coffee ?
A Korean friend hooked my on the United Coffee Candy
@@MACTEP_CHOB no, but they might enjoy or put up with a weird off flavor that is less popular outside Japan. It's like how Americans are mostly accustomed to the weird sour funky flavor of Hershey's but a lot of people worldwide despise it.
As a child in the 1960s, I used to sneak Coffee Nips from my mom's nightstand thinking she'll never know. Except I couldn't stop until only a few remained. Coffee Nips used to be from a different company, not Brach's. What about good old chocolate covered espresso beans???
Ferrara Coffee Nips are probably what you remember. They are still made which makes me surprised that they were not a part of this tasting video.
I came here to say this. I loved coffee nips that my grandmother always had in a bowl back in the 1970's and 80's. I'm surprised that they weren't included.
My grandmother also always had Nips, of various flavors, in her candy dishes too but I'm remembering a very different wrapper as well. Looking at pictures online I think hers were the Ferrara Nips -- the wrapper still looks different, but the writing style matches what I remember. It looks like maybe they were discontinued for a while and just started showing up in stores last year? Also, it looks like Ferrara might also own Brach's? Both could explain why James got only one and not both.
My parents love Nips. I think they're always in stock at their home.
Pearson’s Coffee Nips (bought out by Nestle).
Glad to see you included Kofila, even though I'm not surprised you didn't love it. Cheers from Czechia!
As a Ukrainian, I have to say Roshen has so much great stuff- chocolate bars and candy, gummies with filling, wafers, cakes, you name it
Roshen was created in 1996, what companies was it created from? I don't see that information, in English.
weird, I tried to reply... ok, it showed up, my question is about poroshenko, and how roshen was formed in 1996, which companies were combined?
@@aaronmoore3050 I think they purchased several old confectionery factories across Ukraine that were government owned since the Soviet times
MILKY SPLASH. in Latvia, my go-to sweet is Milky Splash. Go Roshen! Slava Ukraini
@@_carrot__cake_ Very interesting, is the chocolate-coffee candy a poroshenko era product? it would make sense because wikipedia says he imported coffee to the soviet bloc.
It's a shame James hated the pocket coffee, I've always thought it could be the perfect candy with some decent espresso inside
I lurve pocket coffees. Have to let it melt in the mouth. He ate it all wrong!
As soon as I saw his reaction I rushed to the comments to find my Pocket Coffee brethren. It's the only coffee candy I've tasted that even mildly resembles the experience of drinking real coffee, albeit VERY sweet dark roasted robusta heavy espresso. But I mean there's a certain Italian nostalgia to that, that far exceeds the kind of generic coffee flavor in most other coffee candies 🤷
@@grahamwyatt7056 Agreeeed. My move is to bite the top off, shoot back the coffee syrup, and then chase that with the rest of the chocolate.
@@TheGrandMug The oily consistancy probably is caused by the coffee being beyond saturated with shugar so it's more syrup than coffee. But I still like them, too.
But if you really want to stay awake, eat a can of schokacola. (2 pieces are supposed to be one espresso, a can has 16 pieces). That will keep you awake for at least 6 h,even if coffeine has normally not a great effect.
i wouldn't call it perfect but i do enjoy pocket coffee. so i'm a little bit surprised by his reaction. wouldn't call it extremely harsh (only maybe in comparison to the generic coffee flavor in most candy). very sugary espresso flavor and yeeah he ate it wrong.
Thanks for including the old Werther's ad. Pure childhood to a German Millennial.
The company (Storck) is still based in Berlin, by the way, but they don't sell the coffee candy in Germany.
Solid half an hour of James being delightfully perturbed by coffee flavoured candies is a good start to the weekend.
My go-to coffee candy when I go to Italy is Perfetti Alpenliebe Espresso Coffee Candy, always bring a few bags back. Coffee sweets don’t seem to be a thing here in the UK
Seeing the Coffee Crisp made my little Canadian heart sing. But, yes, not a strong coffee-ness. I always thought they were shooting for a "Double-Double" (two cream, two sugar). So, quite sweet and creamy. It's the coffee we grew up on Because as you know, Tim Hortons is bad at brewing in location.
The funny thing is they have an actual “double double” flavour, and it’s terrible! Original coffee crisp for the win.
Well, not the actual win, considering it didn’t make it pass the first round. 😅
*cries in Canadian*
Fellow Canadian, have had loads of Coffee Crisps over the years. "Makes a nice light snack" but the name is deceiving if you are looking for authentic coffee flavor.
Loved them as a kid! Brings back good memories.
I’m American and coffee crisp was such a wonderful surprise when I first had it when I was ~20. It’s not very coffee-y, but man is it delicious. I buy a bunch every time I go to Canada.
I like to bring my Aussie roots to the party and attempt to use coffee crisp like a tim tam to drink coffee through. It doesn't really work but it's a lot of fun.
dark chocolate covered coffee beans 🍫
10:05 truly a Hames Joffmann classic moment
Coffee crisp is a national treasure and the fact that you dont love it is making me reconsider our relationship
Exactly what I was thinking
Canadians rise up
Have you ever tasted real chocolate? Or real coffee? It is not a national treasure. It is owned by Nestlé, a Swiss company. And Swiss chocolate is pretty meh anyway.
@@bengagnon2894 you obviously haven’t heard of the nothing good to say rule. Must be from Quebec.
Anyway, I never said it was good chocolate, nor did I say it tasted like the best coffee. It is amazing though and I got you 3 to 1 saying it is a national treasure. Not to mention the 66 likes so 😝
Tbh I think he was pretty fair to it. Basically, it is fine as a sweet treat but in this coffee specific tasting it's not up there. That's kinda how I feel about it too, paired with some coffee, it's great. On its own? Idk
The cappuccino kopiko should have made an appearance.
It's really way more balanced.
Kopiko is my go to for a non-fruity hard candy. It's not good, but I love it. Interesting that you picked out the molasses flavor. I hadn't noticed but that's what I use to sweeten my normal coffee when I go that route.
Right there with you about Kopiko
We used to be given these in Indonesian class at school!
I love them, I'm sure they're not objectively good but subjectively - absolutely my favourite
Kopiko - "it's not good, but I love it!"
Available at all major retailers. 😂😂
Coffee Crisp is to have with coffee, not coffee-y on its own. Also, pocket coffee is delicious.
Well, you've confirmed my hunter-gatherer Neanderthal palate -- I take guilty pleasure in chomping on a Pocket Coffee now and then.
Seeing Kopiko lose so fast is sad. Love that candy.
I think he'd like the Kopiko cappuccino version more.
It’s just sugar. The Japanese stuff is so much better!
Actually, the Scho-Ka-Kola was designed in 1935 for sportsmen (no-one had doping concerns back then), but was issued to Luftwaffe pilots and U-Boat crews to keep them going. Until today, it’s referred to as aviators‘ chocolate.
I've eaten an entice can at once, and can confirm, it eill keep you awake for at least 6h. Pocketcoffees in comparison won't do that.
I think Schokacola isn't trying to be a coffee flavoured candy, but a energydrink kind of thing. And that, it does well.
In the war Germany initially gave actual amphetamines to the pilots but they found it was making them too reckless and getting them shot down.
I've also heard it be called trucker's chocolate, FWIW.
I remember those from rations in Steve`s video ) Package was different though.
@@clockworkvanhellsing372 one whole can has about 200mg of caffeine
I really liked the Meiji Coffeebeat candy from japan. Little coffee bean shaped candy in a tube. It's been so long that I don't really remember if it was good or not but I expected it to be in this list.
As a German, the Werther's Original Coffee labeled as American confused me a bit at first. Werther's Original is a German brand of caramel candies, named after the town of Werther, but the coffee version doesn't actually exist here in Germany as far as I can tell. Also Scho-Ka-Kola is an absolute classic, my stepdad would always have a tin on hand for long car drives. The dark chocolate one is indeed the better by far, you barely see the milk chocolate ones, and I'm pleased it got reasonably far.
We also have little coffee beans made out of dark chocolate with some slight coffee flavour here, they're not that special in terms of flavour to be fair, but at least fun because of the shape. Also very popular as cake decoration.
Yeah but the Werthers are still all produced in Germany. According to Storcks website they don't have a production outside of Germany. So it is definitely German candy.
Loacker for example has a factory in South Tyrol/Italy and one in East Tyrol/Austria. And they produce Matcha flavour and Cheese flavour too. They don't exist in the European market (at their own shops nowadays you can buy it) since they are produced for overseas. It doesn't change the origin of the company and product though.
Man i love schokakola, i knew it would get far. The tin is also amazingly designed, you can open it with one hand by pushing on the tab! I buy it mostly for the tin
Seconding being fond of the tin design
It's a great tin. The chocolate is good too.
Roshen CEO ... "Hello, is that the production manager? We'd better ramp up the production of our CoffeeLike line. I'm expecting a massive increase in demand shortly!"
These were in stock in 3 package sizes on Amazon an hour ago, but quickly switching to "currently unavailable" as James' fans decide to try them...
I found some to order from Walmart of all places...
Roshen's candies have pretty much all been good as i've tried them. they have a decent range, and their chocolates don't have that weird pukey sour milk flavor that a lot of american chocolates have.
@@matt_dm I just returned from a shop which has an enormous amount of candies from UA. I might go back there sooner than I planned lmao.
@@druidOcelot I've been to Ukraine and get sent candy from there - so I've tried out a variety of Roshen candy (as well as others, like the Lukas and a local Kharkiv made candy I have right now in a bowl). What we get in Europe/US is a small, chosen amount of specific candy of what I believe fits our taste a bit better. Because the others that you get in Ukraine (even Roshen) has a bit of weird taste to them that I believe eastern Europeans are a bit more used to. Not saying they're bad at all - just like Hoffman in the video could make out Nestle - it has a special taste.
One of the big selling here in Sweden from Roshen is Milk Drops. You find them in quite a few supermarkets. My personal favourite are "Romashka" (chamomille) though :)
I pride myself in not taking joy in others’ misfortune. But the dead-eyed expression of James as he puts the first Schok-a-Kola in his mouth made me burst out laughing.
I think you missed my favorite coffee candy of all time and it happens to be from Japan. Meiji’s Coffee Beat. They are small hard shell chocolates in the shape of a coffee bean. It’s not gourmet coffee, but kind of this lovely smooth coffee taste that isn’t acidic. The crunch on the outside is light and perfect! And the chocolate-coffee mix, in my opinion, is fantastic. It’s one of my favorite Japanese candies. I typically don’t like coffee flavored candy.
Hames is going to have a video with the clip at 10:05 I think... wording there just clipping gold.
I was thinking that at 5:21
One that unfortunately is not sold separately is from the Swedish company 'Marabou'. They have boxes called 'aladdin' and 'paradis' which contains a chocolate called 'höst' translates to 'autumn' that is quite heavy on the coffee! Popular during the Christmas season
I woke up today with a lot of unbridled anxiety and this helped me calm down. Thanks James :)
You missed Coffee Beat from Japan. It's my personal favorite coffee candy. It's bean shaped thin outer shell is a manufacturing marvel in itself.
Kopiko is super interesting, seems like the only one doing "black coffee" among these.
Indonesian coffee is super interesting nowadays, too bad they're not capitalising on the vibrant coffee scene's massive growth.
We have a decent amount of domestic coffee chains going around, just not exactly a lot going out of the country.
@@YataTheFifteenth Kopiki should capitalize on their world-wide recognizable brand. Wikipedia says they still offer only 2 flavors.
I feel like Coffee Crisp used to taste more like coffee when I was a kid, but now it's all sugar because Nestle is trash.
It could be both: kids have a far higher tolerance for sugar, better sense of taste, and megacorps destroy the quality of the companies they buy.

no human person bites a pocket coffee. The liquid is bitter while the chocolate is sweet with sugar so they complement each other. It's very popular in Italy
Mexico here! Glad to see the candy got so far, James was so excited with the name 😂, loved it!
12:31 "Nestlé! Nestlé... uhhh coffee crisp!" is so funny to me
I think there's always two categories when it comes to coffee and coffee products.
1. What coffee drinkers enjoy
2. What casual/non coffee drinkers enjoy
I imagine most coffee candies cater more to the latter group.
Such tension waiting to see when (or if) Ferrero Pocket Coffee would come up. I absolutely love these - the Ambassador could spoil me with them any time. How surprised I was though to see them rated as not even on the level of Ferrero Rocher, which I can't stand! Oh well, I'll get me coat... Kudos to James for muching his way through so much candy - goodness knows what that did to his HbA1c level!
I recently found Coffee Delight and Kopiko. I like them just fine and they have enough coffee flavor for me. Coffee Crisp I quite enjoy. I agree that the coffee flavor is very subtle but still there and delicious.
Werther's Original is a product by Storck, which is a German company as far as I know
Decades of German traditions just moved over the pond...
It’s also pronounced something like “Vair-ter’s” in German. Which was a shock to me too.

@@yenquest It's the stepped zoom in on his face as he says each word for me. Besides the Pocket Coffee, that's definitely the reaction that made me laugh the hardest
13:17 One of the funniest James Hoffmann moments after biting into the chocolate 😂😂😂. The literal "Yuck!" face and the frantic search where he can spit out or throw away that monstrosity.
I also love the unique coffee notes James came up with after the taste: coffee-and-motor-oil, a close second to the metal-battery-acid-and-pain note. 😂
The raction at 13:21 was just too funny 😂 but I looove Poket Coffee! Probably my favorite candy by Ferrero. The balance between the liquid bitter coffee, the sweet crispy chocolate exterior and the crunchy layer inside creates such a great balance!
James slowly descends into a caffeine and sugar-fueled madness for our entertainment. This channel is supernal
my kopiko-loving heart is broken
Yeah it’s really popular in the Philippines, I love it
It's the best. He lies.
love the way James gets super hopped up on caffeine by the end 😂😂😂
I was introduced to Florestal Coffee Candy while visitng Brazil. It's the best coffee candy that I've tasted in recent memory and I'm glad I brought a giant bag back home.
As a diabetic coffee enthusiast I’m glad you did this, because I can’t 😅
I gave up after trying Kopiko..
Coffee candies are not for me.
I know what is diabetes but i wish you recovery and good health.
@@aeraniverse There are some really exciting progress in the medical sciences, we're likely to "cure" diabetes type 1 (autoimmune) within two decades with a combo of stem cell therapy and medicine, which is the harder type to fix.
I believe James did a video monitoring his blood-sugar levels from a morning cup of coffee. He has some sort of sensor implanted on his arm.
I'm diabetic. Everything in moderation man!
You need to try Coffee Crisp on its own. Definitely has a coffee flavour, mild but definitely present.
Pocket Coffee is my guilty pleasure. 😅 I assume it's a bit better even for James when you eat it in one bite.
I just remembered the coffee beans covered by chocolate. They must be famous around the Globe. In Mexico you can get them in any town where they produce coffee, but there are some that use a really nice chocolate that give balance in the flavors. Some times they come with two different types of chocolate and if you eat them at the same time, they play interesting in the mouth (flavor wise talking here). I think this kind of "candy" is different because they use real coffee beans. In comparison with all the other you have reviewed. But I think is worth a complete video by itself.
four worlds: Chocoloate covered coffee beans.
I like the flavor, but the texture of a coffee bean just isn't super pleasant to eat. they get in your teeth too.
Hames Joffman would have a field day with this one
We miss you hames
Why? as far as I know the channel is back. Unless you have some insider knowledge that he'll stop
@@piotrgoacki9070 It's been ten months since their last video.
Astonished that Coffee Beat didn’t make the cut from Japan. Adorable coffee-flavored chocolates shaped like coffee beans that come in a little cardboard tube. Definitely points for aesthetics and originality.
Surely this will go down in the annals of great tasting. Quite brilliant!
The Cappuccino Jelly Belly should've faced off with the coffee gummy, but other than that good show!
Yes! I was hoping they'd make an appearance. As a cappuccino fan myself they're not a bad approximation.
YES!!! PLEASE make coffee gummies! My Name is Andong has a homemade gummy recipe you can use.
There's a colombian coffee candy that several friends and I like a lot that was missing in this video. The brand is called El Triunfo, its hard and stuffed candy
This video is great since I love trying different coffee candy
