Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your subscriber count - you 100% deserve a bigger following! Production quality of both the tracks & the video was awesome
I loved it man! I wanna say that I'm recording my last ep last 7 months by myself and trust me I'm very dedicated to project. Some of the songs first tracks are in 2022 and still I say that ı need 3 days to finish while ı'm watching this video. Whatever happens thank you for reminding me that Perfect is the enemy of good. Have a nice life and have huge successes :)
Thanks man! "Perfect is the enemy of good" is something I still constantly have to remind myself of. I'm looking forward to checking out your EP. Please let me know when it's out!
Dude, I love this! I love how you made it a challenge to keep things minimal and got it done. That’s my biggest struggle, I tend to do and over do it and at the end I’m too overwhelmed to finish a project. Great stuff brotha! I truly enjoyed the process.
Thank you so much. Same here! Always tend to throw in more tracks and small details, only to find that they eventually muffle the whole mix. This was a pretty big eye-opener for me too. Really glad you liked it!
Well done. I like that you didn’t take yourself too seriously with this. It’s hard to do. And yeah, some of your songs sounds like could be one something great!! 😊 👍
Bold and courageous and inspiring, very entertaining to listen to and to watch... My favorite song: "Take my breath away" I like the melody and the lyrics. I will watch the song section of your video again. Thanks a lot for this 😊
Hope you post more like this! Could you list the gear you used for these tunes? I am planning on recording my own stuff . Just starting with an IPad and Scarlett input for now. I used to record on an old Yamaha Pocketrak PR7 using real instruments plus a drum machine. Thanks!
Thank you! And will do! Here's the gear I used for this --- DAW: Logic Pro X (I'm actually using an older, offline version that doesn't require any updates - 10.0.7). Audio Interface: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen. USB Keyboard: KORG microKEY 2-37. Most of the guitar parts are my Fender Strat directly plugged in (there are some guitar presets in Logic that sound pretty good, but they still have to be EQ'd and compressed a little to sound more natural). All the other "analog" stuff and vocals I recorded with my SM7b mic (an SM-57 would have probably done the trick just as well). For the drum parts I mainly used the built-in drum machine in Logic Pro (the virtual drummer saved me a lot of time), and for most of those 80s sounding songs I used my sampler that I programmed with some Linn Drum samples I found in this video: ruclips.net/video/u_d0CM2H98E/видео.html --- Anyways, hope this helps!
@@northernlightspecial01 Thanks for the reply! Looks like I have the same type of equipment. It’s amazing what we can do at home now. Any recommendations for an Apple laptop? I foresee getting one since my old PC won’t be supported by Microsoft much longer.
@@michaelyahn3125 You're very welcome. As for an Apple laptop, it doesn't really matter that much. Even a simple Macbook Air will do just fine (I did this on my 10 year old Macbook Air). The trick is to save and load your tracks using an external hard-drive, this prevents your project from overloading. I recently got a newer iMac to do this stuff on, but old habits die hard ;-)... Hope this helps!
lets say you can make 2 songs in a day by making about 50 loops and by mumbling your way through the songs. Let's also say the songs average 4 minutes. This equates to 56 minutes per week. Say you make music 50 weeks out of the full year. That's 2800 minutes of song per year, or 46.66 hours of music. So it's like the length of 50 albums. But what if you wanted to make the world record most amount of albums in a year, you would have to break the insane record of 347 albums held by viper. Looks like we need a new plan. You would obviously be making an album a day, while taking some days off, and you won't be making the best music. But viper did it, i mean a lot of it was recycled material but it's still a record possible to break regardless. I myself want to break this record, but like making 300 hours worth of song is the most insane thing i could ever possibly attempt. And it probably wouldn't get a lot of attention because it's all gonna sound awful, but surely a few songs are gonna be good. Anyways, i'm hoping someday the record gets broken and to whoever is still reading this: i'm jealous of your attention span.
Damn, that’s a mind-boggling calculation and I love it! Im pretty sure I won’t be able to produce that many albums in a lifetime, but there is something to say about more songs = better songs (pure on the basis of spreading your chances) - and then again, some of the best songs were written in 15 minutes or less. Thanks for your insights!

An Ai Bum in a week
I mean, black sabbath recorded their album in 12h, so one week is load of time…
well if you are 1st of october then you can do it in 1 day
Sub👑
Yep Beatles did it in a few hrs😂
Maybe this should be the next challenge 😁
Beatles recorded in a few hours. They did not write and record and produce an album in a few hours. They also were 4 people (+ producer and engineer)
Is this really that tough? I made my best album ever in 3 days
I'd love to hear it!
Hey everyone…..we must collect some money for this cat …. Do you have Patreon ???
I do have a Patreon (it's still really basic though!) -> www.patreon.com/c/NorthernLightSpecial
The Beatles did it in one day.........
the recording yes but not the writing!
They were 5 guys working on that album back then and a ton of vintage equipment
It was kind of meh until the dance accompaniment started then +100 😉
