I was on a high carbohydrate whole food plant based diet and the first 2 years it was great. But after that it caused my bad cholesterol to become high. I then worked with a nutritionist and she said there is new research that shows a high carbohydrate diet can increase your bad cholesterol. I am now on a balanced diet and it has lowered my bad cholesterol.

I want to thank you for your advice. I have been inspired to eat vegan/vegetarian more often in order to try to lower my cholesterol and reverse pre-diabetes. Thanks to you, I've eliminated processed foods, upped my dark leafy greens and am trying some new grains in my morning breakfast including millet, sorghum and oat groats . I'm eating berries daily and choosing red and blue produce over less colorful options. I feel great and I'm steadily losing weight.
I loaded my DNA into my calorie counting app and am following its guidlines as i choose my meals.
I've kept my fats within the guidelines and all but eliminated saturated fats, taking most of my fat in through avocodo amd olives.
I've also mostly cut out dairy and am going to start making my own nut milks starting tomorrow when my strainer arrives. Oh and thanks for the tip about black cumin seeds! Ive started sprinkling them on my salads and stuff!
    I appreciate you!

Also by using the pressure cooker to cool your beans it has a plethora of benefits ranging from better digestability teducing lechtins and phytic acid, helps increase antioxidant levels, and most importantly it helps reducing gas (farting) by reducing oligossacharides.
You can also use the immersion blender to blend some of the beans and then mixed them with the rest to have a difference in textures.

Thank you for your video. I wish Dr. McDougall saw that study about eating a lot of fruits and it not raising triglycerides. Dr. McDougall says keep fruit to three servings a day or less to prevent triglycerides from going up. I am surprised he did not find this study. I do eat a lot of fruit, and my triglycerides are low. My cholesterol (total and LDL) are both slightly high even though I am on a WFPB diet with no oil and a small amount of salt. What in a WFPB diet could be causing the high cholesterol? I am active every day.

Great question. But no, juicing isn’t ideal for losing weight because the calorie load is very high and the low volume of food won’t keep you satiated. Chef AJ has a great video where she explains what she calls her calorie density chart.

How can women in general know what’s the best “diet” when we’re the least categorized human species being studied when it comes to what’s the best/correct nutrition/exercise, at the different phases/ages of our life🤷🏾‍♀️It’s so confusing trying to eat the best, for a quality life.
