In Sweden we are generally encouraged to be modest - it is considered kinda rude to brag about your successes in something, and you are instead expected to simply thank people for their compliments. Of course, there do exist attention-seeking Swedish people as well, but that attitude is generally considered a bit inappropriate over here.

I went Keto around Jan 2021, lost 40 lbs, felt great. Went on tour for work October 2021 and within three months put it all back. On the road + peer influence, is the worst. Learned a lot about myself and my weaknesses. Back on it now, using what I learned to be stronger. Off tour and doing my own thing now.

I did keto 15 years ago and lost 35 pounds in 3 months. I started eating somewhat normally again since my husband never ate what I did and I had to do his meals as a meat and 3 with bread. Slowly gained it back but now he has decided to go all organic, clean eating and following Dr. Ekberg, losing 40pounds since July and I have joined him only losing 18 pounds in 2 months. I know now it is a lifestyle plan and it has not been hard because I never ate before 2pm anyway. So at 68 and 182 pounds with an artificial hip and a bad back, it makes sense that less weight is better. Luck to us all as we tackle life and eating for our health.

Just a Thankyou. I am a 60 year old kiwi who was depressed, overweight and struggling with an enlarged prostate Back in February I was motivated by your videos to give intermittent fasting ( IF ) a go (Initially 16/8 , 18/6 and now 20/4. After initially feeling a little better I also started walking for about 1 hour per day and doing some of the breathing exercises you recommend. In less than 3 months I have dropped 40 pounds have more energy and whilst I still struggle with depression it is definitely less severe. Also my frequent nocturnal visits to the toilet are now, for the most part, a thing of the past. IF is a very useful and painless way to improve health. Thanks
Hello Bernie! I suffered for 30 years with bipolar. After 3 months on keto/carnivore no further symptoms. No more drugs either. I recommend you watch Dr Georgia Ede. She’s a psychiatrist treating mental health with diet. Good luck
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few years ago and my primary care physician sent me to a class where the dietitian, even though trying her best, was so far off in her approach to counseling the people attending, it was amazing. I wish that I had discovered your videos years ago. Now I feel properly educated on diabetes. The information that’s contained in your videos should be prescribed to all T2 diabetics.

I found Dr Ekberg videos on 24 August 2020. By 24 December2020, 28lbs lost. Keto and OMAD has changed my life for good. I’m a vegetarian but still done this and I absolutely don’t miss carbs. I’m now normal BMI and walk 20k every weekend. I don’t feel like it’s a ‘ diet’ this is life style change that’s there to stay. Amazing is how I feel after dropping 4 dress size. The best lesson ever from one of his videos ‘ if you are exercising to lose weight, you are eating wrong’.
Thank you Dr. Sten.. It's breaking my heart to give up all my favorites but your clear, concise teaching makes it a "no-brainer" Besides I can retrain my palate and discover new favorites which will enhance my health and life. Keep up the great work; most doctors don't have a clue about this kind of information.
Hi Doc I think that’s very good info I happy to subscribe, I was diagnosed 2 years ago and I lost so much weight just wanna one if its impossible to gain little bit weight course i kanda like skinny now just wanna gain some little bit of a weight ,how can I do to to some little bit
@@billyperry7779 Not only that but I found that many doctors don't want to know about any of these things. I was seeing a dietician and she was more receptive to what I was saying about OMAD even though she could not really advise me to stay on it...however I told her not to try to sell me on that food pyramid which is killing people and has been for a very long time. My doctor sent me to the dietician, however I am doing my own thing and losing weight. I have been to dieticians before I knew about Keto/IT fasting and lost nothing eating the food she recommended. Doctors with their medications will kill you if you have no clue about those medication and what the side effect can do to your body. So I agree with you they are completely nutritionally uneducated that is why they send you to dieticians in the first place. God helps those who help them selves and getting educated about health issues and nutrition is the way to go....that's why I love these videos of Dr Ekberg we are truly lucky to have people like him who give a damn about humanity and what is happening to people out there. Ehhh.... I like Ekberg's take on avoiding things like inflammatory fats and trying intermittent fasting...but telling people that eating fruits like watermelon is akin to eating "poison"?! Dude also says that stevia extract (a "natural" yet industrially processed sweetener) is healthier than honey... And for pete's sake...pointing a finger at fresh garlic?? This dude needs to take the tin foil hat off and hit the books again.
I think, my personal POV, even watermelon is a "no no", going too extreme, without pleasure of eating makes life miserable, it actually is the reason for short living 😢. Balance is the key to everything.
I disagree - It would take less time to do a PowerPoint Presentation that to make this chart - I found it confusing and time-consuming - His information is wonderful but his presentation could be better organized - I taught graphic design so I understand how to present info in the most understandable way so I may be too critical - Doctors make the worse patients and teachers make the worst students LOL-
Ive watched dozens of these vids over weeks trying to understand what I should be eating on keto. So far, this vid is the most accurate/credible, organized, complete and easy to understand on the subject.
I follow everything he says , I have lost 15 lbs , workout 6x week , stronger and getting close to my goals love his videos , never hungry and I was addicted to sugar 💪💪💪👏👏👏
A 40 minute video on all the possible foods. He must've gathered content, aligned and outlined it for several hours, filmed for several hours, edited for several hours. Gold wirk
Very much appreciate that he doesn't just recite foods and values. He interjects HOW he uses them, snippets of what he likes to put in his morning coffee, or how he combines foods to make meal combos. Just wonderful. BTW: Chia seeds are my new kitchen plaything . . . you can soak a TBLSP or two in a C of coconut milk + fiber pwdr along with some KETO "milkshake" powder and set in the frig until it makes a "pudding". As a newbie KETO convert trying to kick the iced cream addiction, this was my go-to mid-afternoon snack. Hope this trick helps others.
@@anita77771 I don't know what he uses as a KETO "milkshake" powder, but I make my KETO drinks with "SlimFast KETO Meal Shake" powder, mixed with water, which includes MCTs & grass-fed butter in the powder, 7 g total carbs per 2 scoops or 12 oz drink, 8 g protein, and is LOADED with 23 different vitamins, like zinc, biotin, A, C, D, E, K, B12 & B6, selenium, magnesium, chromium, iron, and potassium. I drink one of these every day as my lunch and am full most of the day until dinner - if I need a snack in between, I eat a handful of nuts, like walnuts or pecans, and some cheese. I also like "Wasa Sourdough Rye Crisps" with olive oil poured straight on it, which also keeps me satiated for an appreciative amount of time, and consuming Olive oil is so good for the heart, vascular, cognitive, and skin. For what it's worth, I begin my day with one cup of "bullet coffee", blend of unsalted butter, coconut oil, and heavy cream, after I've already fasted 12 hrs. since my supper the night before, so, I actually rarely feel hungry, unless my dinner time starts late. But anyway, I'm gonna try his "pudding' recipe using my Slimfast KETO powder, because it sounds good and as an ingenious "dessert" hack! 😉
Thank you, I'm gonna give this a try! My addiction has always been chips...especially "Sunchips Garden Salsa", "Kettle Chips Habanero Lime", "Trader Joes Ghost Pepper Potato Chips"...so, could you please figure a way to KETO "hack" chips...I just gotta have a "go-to" recipe for chips!! Been missin' chips...A LOT! 😭

So true. I was trying to teach my daughter eat at home but went she went to school and see all the unhealthy food my job was over bc she want to eat that unhealthy food.
Just as a side note: Chia seeds are very high in Omega 3 and walnuts are the highest nut in Omega 3. I love your channel - thanks for helping so many people! We all appreciate you!
English walnuts have four times as much omega-6 as omega-3 (considered by some as acceptible), while black walnuts have sixteen times as much, but a lower total of both; one school of thought considers the total amount of omega-6 more of a problem than the ratio. Chia seeds come with potential problems, not the least of which being that they can swell to the point of causing a blockage. The best seeds, which are rarely mentioned, would seem to be Sacha Inchi, which have 37% omega-3, and 11% omega-9, 9g of protein per serving, and 5g of carbs (all fiber).
I have been substituting nuts for my candy cravings. But I suppose I need to dial it down because of the omega 3 Omega 6 imbalance…. but not surebecause red meat has alot of Arachidonic Acid which is “quote”’the bad fatty acid. Gama linolenic acid is also a 6 omega fatty acid and this is a good one.
I was doing so well for a month. My hair stopped falling and my chest did not hurt before my period. Then , I fell off the wagon. pain is back, hair falling out like crazy and I am tired . I am trying to get back on the right path.
I grind dried split peas into a fine flour and mix 3/4 cup of pea flour with one whole egg and a tablespoon of water. The place it into the fridge for several hours minimum. I then roll this out thin to form an egg noodle (I call it "Peaoodles) and boil in water for 20 minutes. I then put butter over my Peaoodles! Yum yum!
Thank you Dr Ekberg for this information! I have diabetes 2 and this is the first information presented that I understand easily. You have done me a great favor!!!
For anyone else who might be confused about these numbers, as I was before doing some rewinding and re-listening-these numbers are percentages, in other words, the number is referring to # of grams of carbohydrate per 100 grams of the food. (Example: Avocados have 2 grams carbohydrate per 100 grams of avocado).
Thank you Dr Ekberg. Would you also help educate on the carb contents of the following foods? 1] Moringa powder 2] Licorice root extract powder 3] Wheat grass powder 4] Pork rinds 5] Seaweed 6] Edamame 7] Coconut flakes 8] Bamboo fiber 9] Oat fiber 10] Almond flour 11] Pecan flour 12] Goat cheese. I have all these foods in my pantry and was wondering if I am doing my Keto the right way as I would like to keep the carbs below 50 gms per day.
Thankyou for your succinct explanation of Keto diet. I have just started eating this way and your information has helped me to understand the science behind it. I have been fasting intermittent for last three days and lost two kilos already. You are a gem, God bless you
Dr. Ekberg, I cannot express just how much I appreciate the information that you share in all of your videos. Thank you so very much for taking the time to investigate/research and to then sort it, categorize it, and remove some of the complexity surrounding it. This is exactly what I have been looking for!!

A good substitute for worsteshire sauce is home-made “ketchup” from the old days. Take a bowl full of diced mushrooms and add a generous amount of salt and let it sit. The mushrooms will release their juices. Strain through cheesecloth and bottle it. Very tasty!
Make your own mayo at home with eggs and avocado oil (no flavor like olive oil). Use a stick blender in a tall glass, throw in the egg(s), then drizzle in the oil until it emulsifies into mayo. It won't last weeks like the stuff you buy at the store, so be prepared to use it within a day or 2.
I just started a keto diet and have only been doing for a week, but after getting two high sugar blood tests that put me in the pre-diabetic range for the very first time in my 56 years, so I am going to tackle it the right way. This video actually made more sense than anything else I have watched or read and this is one heck of a confusing subject...lol
I've been on Keto for 1 year & 4 months, but prior to Keto I was nearing high blood pressure, nearing fatty liver range, and close to requiring thyroid replacement medicines. _ I'mm all repaired now (without prescriptions)! This was very informative! I always use to eat all of the products you where talking about, I started to get belly fat, I'm 61, and I was told that I should not eat some of the foods like avo cause it is fattening, I think because I cut out most of the healthy foods I got fatter. Dr Ekberg. I have been following you from the UK. My question. Does Keto have any positive effect on Diverticulitis? Could you please do one of your chats regarding this. With gratitude I thank you profusely for all the wealth of information you provide. Pedro
Diverticulitis is not related directly to the ratios of macro nutrients, but more to do with gut health in general. It is caused by, constipation, allergies, processed foods, chemicals and things that irritate. Fiber, whole food, water and avoiding allergens helps.
I know that I am super late to this video, but for those, like me, whose body gets used to things quick, but you deal with terrible withdrawal symptoms, please stay away from caffeine. Caffeine has been a big part of my weight gain, which I started really about 15 years ago. I enjoyed a nice cup of tea, but headaches shortly started to begin, which increased my frequency of consumption to a point where I would be drinking tea literally all day. I no longer got the energy burst from consumption, but I know it negatively affected my REM cycles, which kept me feeling tired and terrible in the morning with another headache. To reduce the staining of tea, I would also add some milk, which is also full of lactose(another monosaccharide). After all these years, I have finally quit tea for almost a week and still have headaches, but not the pounding ones like several days ago. I also seriously reduced sugars, which have left me feeling extremely hung for about 3 days and I don't even drink. I still don't feel great, but I think this is the step into the right direction. It appears that many of us, get into that hole, where we don't look good, are unhealthy and don't feel good, but we don't notice it that much, for it becomes the norm. I don't expect to become a ripped 30 year old again, but I hope to be a healthier, middle aged individual. Cheers!
I'm enjoying your videos and I believe I'm understanding a lot more about what I have been doing wrong in my approach to my diet. I AM a carb lover and have been having a hard time adopting... incorporating... these principles to fix my BPH and high blood pressure. Thanks for your clear explanations of what's going on in the body.
I'm from Jamaica. I heard you mentioned avocado as the only plant that is high in fat. In Jamaica we eat ackee. It's our national fruit. Its similar to avocado as it's a fruit that is also high in fat. It also isnt sweet. I realise alot of persons outside of Jamaica isnt familiar with it. Matter of fact we are the only nation that actually eat it as a main part of our cuisine since people are scared about its preparation. It's only poisonous if you dont let it open on it's own.
After reading this comment I was so intrigued and I looked up ackee online.. Indeed its nutrition is great for keto, very low carbs. And it seems I could find some in can where I live. 😊 I love trying new foods.
This is twice now that I have watched great nutritional information listing factors from various foods, and have run into the same lack of information of one of my favorite foods. Milk is my favorite food, but this other one is number two! One of my children had complained that it was always in our food, and I told him to get used to it because I put it in everything but chocolate pudding. It goes into my eggs, it goes on my cheese, tuna, egg or hamburger sandwiches. I put it in my soups and stews. I put in in my vegetable dishes. I put it into my rice. It goes into my gratins. I put it in some of my breads. Guess what it is? Onion. When I joke about it to friends, I tell them it is one of the five major food groups that I rely on: onions, leeks, shallots, scallions, and garlic. So why is onion not mentioned? Am I supporting onion farmers across America all by myself?
Agree with you I was scanning the board from early on looking for "O". Here's some numbers I just found, as I use it in almost every thing (along with garlic...) "By fresh weight, they are 89% water, 9% carbs, and 1.7% fiber, with tiny amounts of protein and fat." So depends on your "budget", 100g onion, about a cup, would be 9 grams of sugars.
What about WASA bread. WASA with sardines, WASA with smoked salmon, WASA with hard boiled egg,, and my favorite WASA use avocado like butter on top slice tomatoes with little salt, black pepper and turmeric and rosemary that's what there serve in haven❤️❤️❤️
Just 'discovered'yuor videos a few days ago and have been devouring them. Thank you very much. Do you have a video regarding Lentils, chickpeas, beans, etc ?
Greetings from the Great White North🇨🇦 I just started this intimating fasting in the last 3 weeks and and go 15 hour to 20 hours with out food and I already lost 10lbs not bad for pushing 60… I just don’t eat junk food so much. Coffee with sugar only not ready for black coffee. It’s been easy as I love meat, sour cream and wine..lol One day at a time Cheers 😜

Thanks
Perhaps you are low in d3 vitamin - and therefore depressed. Wish you All the best
Hello Bernie! I suffered for 30 years with bipolar. After 3 months on keto/carnivore no further symptoms. No more drugs either. I recommend you watch Dr Georgia Ede. She’s a psychiatrist treating mental health with diet. Good luck
Hey 👋 you can also use red meat 🥩 for depression
You are doing amazing with your healthier diet
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few years ago and my primary care physician sent me to a class where the dietitian, even though trying her best, was so far off in her approach to counseling the people attending, it was amazing. I wish that I had discovered your videos years ago. Now I feel properly educated on diabetes. The information that’s contained in your videos should be prescribed to all T2 diabetics.
I love how this guy actually said if you see an error or take issue with what he says Please comment and he'll address it ! 👍 That's true educational progress and openness Top Level ! 👍 Thanks Doc for keeping it real! 👍

Hello can u please suggest what vegetarian diet u followed. . I'm lactating mom. . Can I do intermittent fasting n low carb diet?
Please share ur diet plan
Thank you Dr. Sten.. It's breaking my heart to give up all my favorites but your clear, concise teaching makes it a "no-brainer" Besides I can retrain my palate and discover new favorites which will enhance my health and life. Keep up the great work; most doctors don't have a clue about this kind of information.
This video should be mandatory for all doctors that started practicing in the past 20 years. 🇺🇲👍
MY DR. HAS ALWAYS GIVEN ME THIS ADVICE.. LOVE HIM!
I would say all doctors. Every do I've talked to seems completely nutritionally uneducated.
Thank you Doc.

I am very grateful that you are sharing your knowledge freely. It's truly disappointing to witness so many claiming they have a way to help you, then make a sales pitch. So, "helping;" to me, means uplifting others, either freely or even sacrificially and that is what your subscribers are receiving. Thank you for all your goodwill towards us and thank you always Christ my Redeemer.
Sir, THANK YOU!! I just found your channel, and I'm never leaving!! This is the first and only time I have ever subscribed to a channel! I have shared it with all of my family. Who knew! that there is a doctor that truly cares enough to share real, beneficial information and not push pills! I'm sure there are many other doctors like yourself, I just haven't been able to find one and I'm 63 years old!
Finally a doctor that really gets it. I have been looking for this information for a long time. You presented the information in a very valuable way for those who suffer from diabetes. All doctors who treat diabetes should really know this information in the format you present and help patient understand how different foods and sugar impacts the body. Thank you for taking your time to make this information available.

@@emmahmuchiri874 I like the explanation bravo. F
Doctors are trained to PRESCRIBE BIG PHARMA POISON, not educate you how to heal yourself with food. There is no $$$ in that.
This guy is fantastic, his ability to communicate outstanding. I learn every time I watch
I like the old school presentation, no crazy graphics, flashing images, just plain whiteboard!
Its like being back in school in the 90s
I disagree - It would take less time to do a PowerPoint Presentation that to make this chart - I found it confusing and time-consuming - His information is wonderful but his presentation could be better organized - I taught graphic design so I understand how to present info in the most understandable way so I may be too critical - Doctors make the worse patients and teachers make the worst students LOL-
I was just wondering this video is quite long and if he changed his style, the presentation might be more efficient
this isn’t even taught in med school.....med students get very little instruction in nutrition
@@carolirvine7663 disagree....his presentation method was excellent....and his delivery was timed for maximum absorption by most viewers.
Most of the water that I drink, I add a teaspoon or 2 of ACV and it's starting to taste better every time I drink it
A 40 minute video on all the possible foods. He must've gathered content, aligned and outlined it for several hours, filmed for several hours, edited for several hours. Gold wirk
Sein Arbeit ist von mir hoch wertgeschätzt.
For me this lecture is the MOST important and useful for my eating strategy.
What is keto milkshake powder?
Sadly, when I started adding a tbsp of chia to my morning smoothies, I just piled the weight on. I'm glad to hear someone can enjoy them though.
@@barbellenoregon that’s over half my day’s carbs in one shake. By the time I’d tried your snack regimen I’d have nothing left for dinner. Try eating a your fill of sardines and a handful of spinach for lunch, they contain every essential nutrient and just about zero carbs
I'm educating myself as I'm trying to control and reverse my diabetes 2. I wondered why my keto sugar levels were still so high as I exempted myself from eating sugar. I didn't know carbs could release sugar. And I eat alot of carbs. Well from now on, no carbs and no sugar. It all makes sense. I'm also cutting out the grains. My goal is to reverse my diabetes. Starting as of now. Thank you for this education. I have subscribed.
A lot of dairy products and fruit will spike your sugar too. Butter and raspberries are still on my diet plan.

I’d love to see a video about how much protein and what kinds spikes insulin!
Just as a side note: Chia seeds are very high in Omega 3 and walnuts are the highest nut in Omega 3. I love your channel - thanks for helping so many people! We all appreciate you!
Chia seeds cause inflammation Basil seeds are the way to go.
@@Netflixlover1122 Source?

I grind dried split peas into a fine flour and mix 3/4 cup of pea flour with one whole egg and a tablespoon of water. The place it into the fridge for several hours minimum.
I just admire your passion for health, and presenting in ways we can understand. THANK YOU.

Dr Ekberg. I have been following you from the UK. My question. Does Keto have any positive effect on Diverticulitis? Could you please do one of your chats regarding this. With gratitude I thank you profusely for all the wealth of information you provide.

If you decide to write a reference book, I will buy the first copy! And a few extra to give as gifts.
You explain all of your video topics so precisely and in a manner that is so easy to understand. Love watching them!
Much appreciated!
It would be awesome if there was a network or channel that only had dietary and medical advice by respected medical professionals. Then people could have a trusted site for information that could cover separate subjects.
