Couple of points I think are pertinent: Rad furnaces aren't rad grenades. They only reduce the number you have to roll, they don't reduce the enemy's toughness. If you've got a paragon blade, rad grenades mean you're wounding on 2+ anyway so the furnace isn't really doing anything. Pretty much the only thing it does is ensure that your enemy having rad grenades doesn't let them double you out with power fists. I also think you guys are undervaluing cover. The change to a damage mitigation roll instead of replacing an armour save has made it really good. A terminator unit in cover is virtually impossible to actually hurt with shooting with anything that doesn't double them out.
Armour, invulnerable and cover are all classed as armour saves, its Feel No Pain and Shroud that are mitigation, so a terminator unit in cover will still be using its invulnerable save which will be better than any cover save it gains most of the time.
Good shout on the furnace! Brain fart there! Such a shame really, malagra goes down in usage (beyond the stat buffs, but then myrmadax is arguably better there) Same as Ed on the cover mate: the rules are lated out a bit confused (having just double checked) but it’s just a save so is one of the armour/invun step rather than being specified as damage mit if you’ve got a page ref I’ll be well happy to be wrong as one of my bug bears with heresy 2 is the cover being much worse
Great video guys! I will never fogive GW for not making me able to take a Mymidax lord on Abeyant (even though the picture on the Archmagos on Abeyant is of a Myrmidon model!!!) Some robot info to think on: Your Archmagos doesnt actually have to be your warlord, so if you wanna tool them up for battle you can just leave Logic of Victory on your Dominus hanging out in the back so you're not as restricted on your Archmagos (though you would loose the other BS/I bonuses) Monstrous on the Abeyant makes you ignore unwieldy so paragon blade is kinda eh, unless you want to fish for killing blow Seeing as Melta Bombs and Machinator arrays are weapons now, any non specialist melee weapons already get +1 A for two weapons. Frees up a hand if you want to buy another pistol or something! As a few other people have mentioned Ephemera Exocluo is really spicy, especially with night fighting or if you've got any shell shock weapons. Knocking elite marines down to Ld4 for their pinning test is incredibly nasty. Though i only ever really take it as my second power with an Archmandrite warlord. Blind i guess is also kinda cute
Hey mate is it in the FAQ to ignore unwieldy cos I can’t see it in my digital copy atleast (or am missing it when I’m reading it) Really good point on the arch not having to be the warlord! I’d not even considered it as an option! The extra in each phase is so big, just such a no brainier to do that now you’ve said!
@@BearfootMiniatures because GW hates formatting, the ignore unwieldy thing is in the Unwieldy rule as opposed to the monstrous one! Dreads and Monstrous ignore the I penalty
1:16:25 I think you're slightly sleeping on Ephemera Exoculo here. It forces a blind test on hit and reduces ld by 2 to allow for easier pinning and easier concussive tests. Fling a grav gun from the same magos at someone with this on them and there's a much better chance to reduce their WS by one balancing out slightly mechs poor combat. If blind goes off, even better! Also if the magos has stoic defender (myrmidax) trait itll reduce ld for the pinning test. It's not the best power but it is a bit of a cyber warfare kit
Ye I suppose, it could be a combo hit that makes mech combat stuff work! Just a bit of a shame then that marine combat units stand on their own Definately a good shout on how to use it (especially the stoic defender use if your going to be using active powers not logic of victory!)
I think the Reductor High Arcana is pretty good with the Artificia Machina selection on all non-HQ choices, because you can no-save remove a hull point, wound, weapon, or inflict immobilized from 12" away and then make a check to do it twice.
Porta fractis can be tasty aswell I think; zipping around piling people out of their transports can expose deathstars to so much damage Especially if you combine with a jet pack and logic of victory to boost away a mass amount afterwards!
Brilliant video guys. Very insightful and I have learned a bunch of new stuff, and I think I will revise my list. I'd be keen to get a breakdown or see a vid of your 3000pt Myrmidax force. I had never noticed machinator array having the bonus attacks, but the idea of standing up to a dread and putting him down in overwatch sounds real good. Dreads are far too popular in my local, so having something to give them a worry is what I needed.
Mate 100% in the same boat, dreads just prolific, back to av needed! Hopefully will be doing elites (and any other that fit in a reasonable time) in the next week or so (drop me a message and I’ll shoot you my lists)
Hey mate seen your message on fb, It says “this person is unavailable on messenger” Shoot me an email on: bearfootminiatures@hotmail.com and I’ll get back there!
Where is the guide to getting a paddling? I think the WS chart change had so many effects that weren't well thought through and considered. If hitting up was only +1 after +2 ws change, it would be very different.
Whats your take on this: A model with who picks cybernetica as his order of high techno arcana gains the Preservation Protocols rule. This rule states that he gains the Patris Cybernetica rule and thus can join units of automata as well as bounce allocated wounds onto automata. The exact wording is "In addition, when joined to a unit with the Automata Unit Type, any Wounds which would be allocated to the Character (even those caused by the Precision Strikes (X) or Sniper special rules) may instead be allocated to a model with the Automata Unit Type first." This does not seem limited to shooting even though shooting is mentioned in the rule. The general rules for allocating wounds is that the target (receiving) player choses where to allocate the wounds. In the rules for challenges its stated that "When allocating Wounds caused by either of these two models, they must be allocated to their opponent first.". This seems to me that a magos with cybernetica can be locked in a challenge and bounce wounds to automata in the same unit if he wants to. This can be very handy, for example if you get hit with something that has high strength (and thus instant killing), maybe its not that to the automata? Do you think this is intended? To me it feels like the mech are quite weak and that this wouldnt really make much of a difference, but still.
Haha I do think mech need a boost but don’t think this’ll be far enough They need picking up across the army tbh, maybe allowing reactions to cybernetica (I mean why can’t the robo-brain do the calcs for the return fire in like 0-1ms) Finally getting round to playing epic btw mate!

@@BearfootMiniatures I think there are more than a few, it's just a lot of Mech players from 1.0, or at least the ones I know, are having difficulty moving away from the lists they used last edition. Personally, I'm looking at a more mobile Mech list using Thallax, Ursarax and Arlatax, with a bit of artillery support from my Thanatars.

Video chapters would be great
“I’m not mad” 😂
It's pronounced "Wingaurdium levio-sah"
Definately feels like that on the naming conventions: should be like “binaric configuration delta alpha 6”
I want to feel sorry for AdMech players for the nerfs they received. But I really can't after how oppressive they were before.
Ye: I mean the combat units are crap
Mech still “works” I think but the good lists are limited to a few options I think atm
