    Glad you showed the intake side this time to give me an idea of how to position the rocker to get it back on. Just about to install my retainers

    Subaru should have put the 2.4 turbo engine in this car.

    • @denstoj
      @denstoj  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yep! And Toyota should have put the G16E-GTS in the GR86 😎

    • @NJMICP3176
      @NJMICP3176 8 месяцев назад +1

      I think they biggest constraint was the turbo itself since it sits under the engine, it wouldn’t have the clearance for the BRZ. They’d probably have to somehow move it into the engine compartment.

    • @denstoj
      @denstoj  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@NJMICP3176 Yeah the, design of the BRZ, with its low hood line and tight engine bay, definitely makes it challenging to fit a turbo. It's not just about fitting, but also managing heat especially for long term reliability - possibly straying from the BRZ's ethos of being a straightforward and driver-focused. It's always an interesting balance! What have you got?

    Thinking about getting this for my supercharged FRS. Can I order spare retainers just in case? I only see them available as a full kit. Thanks!

      Hey! Do you mean spare retainer clips in case you break any when you’re installing?

    After installing the retainer clips does the engine need to be timed back ? Or just push start and go?

    • @denstoj
      @denstoj  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey, you can install our kit without dropping the timing on the FA24 motors like we’ve done so in this video so once installed it’s as easy as start and go. Let us know if you have any other questions.

    rocker failure already on the fa24? what's next to plague these cars? they can't seem to catch a break. does this rocker failure to the FA24DIT engines in Outback and Ascent?

    • @denstoj
      @denstoj  Год назад

      Yes, Subaru/Toyota are still running this rocker arrangement without retainers on their more cost effective engines. We haven’t figured out why, likely manufacturing processes. It’s the same on all 3rd-gen FA and FB Subaru engines. Just a failure mode to be aware of. Do you have a FA24DIT?
