    Wow, that is a busy schedule.
    Thanks for the interesting update, what a weapon!

    Thanks Stu.., great video..! Wow, after 7 RV's your favourite is the 4..! I couldn't agree more as I have built only 1 RV... and it was the 4..!!!! After 5 years of faultless operation I still have that wow moment every time I fly. So 215hp in a 4..? Ok , so, I was considering building an F1 Rocket, but with the numbers you achieved, why would I..? Great summary of your build and its issues and results. Thankyou. Fly safe all, soft sky , hard ground.

    Good seeing you Stu and thanks for the update! Yah....knew things were getting busy for you even back in the summer when you started to train....u had the infamous helmet racoon tan which means a lot of time in the sun under the canopy. MOST importantly was holding steady for your word on the -4, compared w the -8. Bingo! HUGE moral bump for me to hear this especially considering how many holes I have to drill out in this kit🤣 All worth it with your input! TY!!👍

    Welcome to the rocket performance world. My Vne is 240ktas on my harmon rocket 2 and cruise at 200kts on 12.5gph. Your airplane is going to be beautiful when done.

      I would love to provide more training videos however we're too busy in cockpit to get anything besides official video - the public affairs guy takes care of most of it. Plus most video belongs to military once filmed so it needs to be considered appropriately.

    It would help to clarify VNE in IAS (typically) and your cruise speeds are in TAS.

    • @stusaircraftfactory6592
      @stusaircraftfactory6592  2 года назад +4

      At 9500 the IAS is about 160 kts I think. I’ll check next time. VNE is TAS to be clear.

  • @kennethsmolana9865

    Any idea what drives VNE? Could it be just conservatism due to variability of kit-built aircraft? What would it take to increase it, Van’s inspection, structural mod?

    Hi you mentioned in your video a ramp for the outlet airflow . Would you have a drawing of the installation? How efficient is it on drag?

    • @stusaircraftfactory6592
      @stusaircraftfactory6592  2 года назад +1

      Sure I’ll find a pic but it’s similar to what’s installed in RV8 if you’re familiar. It’s basically a curved ramp at airflow exit.

    Surely VNE is an indicated speed. Hence the red line on the ASI. If you are referring to the critical flutter speed, then that is another thing.

    • @stusaircraftfactory6592
      @stusaircraftfactory6592  2 года назад +1

      Yeah it seems like there are 2 schools when talking about this so both sides are correct. Most regard VNE as flutter margin so its TAS I believe. This stems from fact that most airplanes do not have TAS indication until recently. On my RV4, the indicated airspeed will turn red at about 168 kts at 9000 MSL which equated to 182 kts TAS.
