I’m just transfixed watching this guy sing & play. Acoustic Singer-Songwriter/indie-folk music has become my favorite music to listen to. I grew up on being a hard core Earth Wind & Fire, Commodores, OJays, Patty Label fan. Somewhere along the way i evolved into this chill music lover. I loved Smooth Jazz, back in the late70s, so it started there, but the last 5 to 10 years folk, lyrical music is my favorite now. I’ve been listening to Fink, all day, every day, now for 3 days. This is just stellar. He can throw down some runs & riffs. Reminiscent of Stevie Wonder & the late Donnie Hathaway. Let me listen to this now a few more times. Love it
I love to see someone respect the art of another artist enough to take the privelege that was granted & throw their own spin on it with their heart & soul in it. Without taking away from the original or trying to add to it...just beautiful!
This is one of those songs where the cover is MUCH better than the original. But I’ve never been into classic Rock. Never heard the original. 7 seconds & I had to come back to this…for 10th listen for tonight
I don’t know HOW you interpreted REM’s version to this masterpiece. So appealing, i slept with this song on itunes, on an endless loop. Now I’m listening to it this morning, to get the runs in sync with yours. Your octave is easier for me to match in the high notes, than an octave for females. Lol.
And I'm the apologist And now that I'm at peak And I know at first it really hurt. We joke about these things. And I've skirted all my differences But now I'm 'fessing up. Now I wanted to apologize for Everything I was. so I'm sorry (so sorry x3) Do you understand me? The people here are good. And they tell me what I should have done And offer what I could. I'm good, all is good All is well, no complaints. When I feel this way, I get down on my knees and pray. I'm sorry (so sorry x3) I live a simple life Uncluttered by complex sweets. You say this isn't me? Here I go (x4) I'm so sorry. Thank you for being there for me. Thank you for listening, goodnight. I can forfeit selfishness I hope for you that you apply This happiness This peacefulness This happiness This peacefulness I'm sorry (so sorry x3)
Music is subjective. Not to say someone can’t fall in love to a genre different from their formative years. I grew up on Motown, then House Music, (smooth) Jazz. Now at 59 i am a big fan of Acoustic Indie Folk & Etherial Spa music. This works for me, yes reminds me is Stevie. I’ve been listening to this 1 song for the last 3 hours, & This Is The Thing for 3 days. I love his voice, riffs, runs & picking. Not a fan of the grungy Rock stuff , but THIS?! Yea!!!
The Knocking on his guitar is such a melodic moment...although it's so simple !
He knows, how to combine all those effects to create this amazing mood

Dat hair
more like a new song and just stolen stipes lyrics.
I feel it's way too jerky and loses the theme of the original ? reminds me of stevie wonder vox a bit - I'm sorry :-/
