For the storage boxes, you can at least dictate specific items that are allows. Rather than a "Plant" box for all plants, you can have a "Plant" Box that is only A, B, C and another that is C, D, E. This way you can avoid one resource flow disrupting another if you know their flow rates.
i need to know what use production stations have. the collection yard, logging yard and excavation pit. what do they do? i already got my 3 tribesmen gathering this. i don't get the point in these building and they cost me alot of techpoints. seems like a total waste.
Try setting the npcs to discard their broken tools with a box set to the tool type, I believe that with a repair bench near it and a tribe member set to repair will work
discard broken tools is truly that, toss it and use another one. The only wait I think it might works is using the option to move specific item in a box, but I think it is from one box to another and not from the NPC inventory directly. The discard tool option should let us assign a box to it or default to the closest box automatically though.
Think the devs do this to stop forever bases. 10 or 12h into the game a player likely has 3 npcs. One doing each gather. With one upkeeper and one repairer, the npcs could keep a base active forever. Defeats the purpose of decay. Stone tools just make like 2/3 inventory tools will be red gold and some purple depending on tool skill level and perks. Should last u over a day. Repair by hand on the spot with a stack of flint. Bone tools are even better once u have enough mats to mass produce for npcs.
Stations just get WAY too big, I abandoned indoor workstations early on and now opt for a big, open deckI can easily expand. Also dropped doors entirely, pathing AI is so dumb and I got tired of hearing doors open and close all the time.
ye very nice video. seems like tribes will want their field manager taking care of business while they are out adventuring. and it wil help dictate the success of tribes tbh. its your own factorio inside a survival. very promising. but to deal with these complex systems with a lot of feedback loops, better control tools will need to come along down the road tbh
Awesome video, gonna give the game a try, best of luck to your channel!

ah i see it just gives some more radius
And some selection to what they’ll gather
is there a way to make followers dump broken tools into repair station and have them repaired automatically?
Not sure, it’s something I want to test today though.

I tried this with a stone scythe and it was straight thrown away. I'll test again later
