Selecting 'Camp Upkeep' for your worker lets them tend to the bonfire AND harvest any necessary materials to keep it going.
This is true and will work just fine however it gives you slightly less control. But good tip ty!

glad to see your doing soulmask now, can you do a video on how the base comfort works? and mood for the tribesman. if they dont have specific mood traits how else can i raise there mood? working on my base comfort, im at level 2, but its a big base so i question if im gonna need lighting in the darker areas, and if floors count as ceilings? thanks in advance

Well when you set a value above the alloted amount, ie. 1-3 but you say set it to 5, it reverts back to 3 after saving the settings so? Not sure if that even works.

Seriously thanky, i have been trying to understand what matters in the settings and i tried doing it but lost interest after playing soulmask couz i got the settings wrong, hopefully these ones work better
why even bother with grind setings if the automation gets rid of it on its own?
Because of time. Automate anything you want if they go out and knock down all the trees around your base and you get 6 logs and it takes 20 for them to respawn and you need 10 to make a wall well... Think about it lol

What does the "Time Flow Multiplier" do, default it all set to 24/48 for every difficult, I wonder if i would set it to 12 or 6 does that mean the day flows slower and having longer day and nights? Or does that do anything else?
Yes...when you lower the time flow slider ( sliding left ) it makes your days and nights longer. You will have to experiment with what feels right for you. But it definitely can give the game a more realistic and immersive feel.
I dislike the continual automation they implemented on a timer. It makes zero sense to me. I'd rather be guaranteed to have items in stock because I set a limit to craft them until I hit X amount not to craft 30 every 30 minutes.
Is there something I'm missing?
Keeping Xamount in stock at all times is MUCH better than craft Xamount every Xmin..
Makes literally no sense to craft on a timer compared to stock based.
Why not play creator mode and spawn everything

I can play happy with default settings except for Awareness. Very annoying getting the mask's spendy points up.
I can't change crafting speed multiplier bigger than 5, if I input higher value in it manually, it just changes into 5. I'm playing single player game, and crafting time is really gimping me in things like smelting that takes forever and of course everything stops when I quit playng.
These values can only be increased past the max on a dedicated server, Options? Rent or setup a private dedicated sever on your pc via steam CMD.

My only turn off is both male and female models looks too plain and they stand too stiff.😂 I hope they improve on the eye candy.
Apart from that I'm rather satisfied of the amount of play it has, a little Valhiem and Conan.

and when i edit the settings in single player it resets if i hit confirm
Not sure if you gonna see this, but i tried to raise single player settings over recommend by typing in the custom number (10) and after clicking confirm and going back its only raised to max recommend. Tried multiple times 2.

settings are not working anymore u cant go beyond the limit and some of these settings dont even exist anymore

The first sets of tools are absurd how fast they break. Like 4 trees an the axe breaks in stupid
This is what I suggest changing durability. Everything breaks absurdly fast. It's kinda dumb.
Will try this, I've been wondering what the closest settings to the last beta would be for the "easy" mode that was in that. It felt perfect in terms of levelling and gathering!
Also, if you want to make a new base somewhere is there a trick? Maybe later u get something to help? but I am already dreading the thought of moving lol. Especially as I have 10 tribes people already lol. I wonder can you tell them to travel somewhere? Hmm may have to look as I haven't tried anything like that yet. I'm wondering if it's best to make the 2nd base and then set the work order up for the old tribesmates so they move? Assuming they can get there and not die haha
There is a portal you can unlock about mid game. You'd have to build one at each base.
In single player it does not allow me to move past the maximum. Is there a way to bypass this? I enter in the number manually at 10 and it defaults to the default number…

@@alexperera7919 You can only do that on a Dedicated Server. There are several videos out there on how to set those up.
Devs gives Players options.

Cannot get settings over the max amount to save. Tried multiple times, on custom, easy, and casual.
Same for me, I can change the settings but when I start the game it's back to max.

I believe later you can build turret towers and palisade walls

make sure there well geared, give them armor and weapons, check there behavior settings possibly. and are you on pvp server or are people just aggroing enemies near them?

@@RaptorM3P I think he means other players. You really can't stop them from getting ganked in that way. Maybe the game developer should look into that. I'm assuming.

Glad to see your doing admin guides for Soulmask. When you do a video on automation I would appreciate looking into the 'Storage' action. Not sure how this works yet. Looking forward to more videos.

definitely helps to set a storage chest for each category, or even more then 1. and that way your tribesman put things into chests. you can also set a chest next to a workbench and choose specific items to only go in that chest. example: put a chest next to the loam, and only select linen, rope, twine etc etc.

If you don't have the option clicked you don't need a password!
The layout of this game's UI reminds me of Conan aexiles
Just set fuel use to 0, then no need to worry about bonfire or any fuel related items.
That's an option too but my goal here was to tweak settings to fix issues not change the overall gameplay experience they set out to give us.

There's a reason dumpster developers use those settings as a "default": to artificially extend how long people play their game.

Yeah same here. One cannot crank a setting (such as crafting speed) up to beyond what they have set as their max on the slider it seems.

As many settings as you changed, why not just select easy mode? Obviously if easy mode doesn't make it easy enough, you can change settings to make it easier. If the goal is to make the game easy but choose normal mode so you can say you aren't playing in easy mode, that's a bit silly.
This doesn't make it easy. It fixes the grind. Grind does not = difficult.
Following this guy's advice is how you ruin your play experience and then complain it was too easy or there wasn't enough content
"customer is always right when it comes to matters of taste" Same rule applies here for players/server owners. Play the way the devs intended or craft your own experience, you have that freedom to choose. If they "ruin" the experience, so what? it does not matter to you.

there is a big difference between survival mechanics to annoying grind fest, speacilly that none of this survival games was made for solo players
@worzoth4728 Well, I for sure agree some of the settings should be tuned up a little for solo, it's just silly to act like 5x on things doesn't just make the whole game trivial
This is why I suggested starting with 3.5 and dialing in what feels best. Everyone's idea of where these settings should fall is going to be different but I'm pretty sure we can all agree default is way too low. At least most of the comments I'm seeing seem to agree lol

Time grind isn't "hard"
He didn't change damage dealt to mobs, didn't change damage taken, just changed the garbage that is wasted time. Challenge should be from Challenging content, not this kind of stuff.

I love the people that think grind equals difficult lmao. I hate to tell you this but it doesn't. There is nothing hard about cutting down a tree then waiting 20 min for it to respawn so you can cut it down again just to craft one wall. It's just time consuming. This is why I didn't mess with most of the settings. Please learn the differences between a difficult mechanic and one designed to eat time.
