Today I passed my G2 test. Thank you for the video. This was the exact route examiner took me. Examiner was fantastic and very polite.
Had the same route at Metro East to get my G2 today. Passed first try! Thanks Evgeniy; excellent walk-through of the route.
Many general tips for this location (based on what I overheard from people that failed at the centre today, and from my instructor):
- move all the way to the right after a left turn. With each new lane you enter to do this, turn off your signal to COMPLETE the lane change. Repeat again to get to the far right side.
- if you have the slightest doubt that you can't make your left turn unless you press hard on the gas to avoid getting hit by oncoming traffic, better to just wait. Ignore anyone who honks at you.
- literally ignore anyone who's honking at you if you know the move they want you to make will put you in an unsafe situation because the examiner will fail you. People making left turns are the most impatient people; it's ridiculous. It's like the dedicated left turn lane transforms people into the biggest dicks. They're the assholes, not you.
- adding to the previous point, don't nudge your car slightly left during a left-turn to check for oncoming traffic. You're taking the oncoming traffic's right of way. When you're more skilled and driving NOT in a test, nudging left is risky, but practical especially driving in the city. Still wouldn't recommend it in real life, but on the test, don't nudge left.
- when you want to make a move on the main road that the examiner hasn't told you to do (e.g. there's a ridiculously/dangerously slow car/bus in front of you and you want to change lanes), briefly ask the examiner what they want you to do. "Should I go around?" Don't change lanes when the examiner didn't tell you to do so EXCEPT: 1) moving right after a left turn, 2) changing lanes to avoid cars parked on the side of the road, and 3) changing lanes because you have to merge/the lane ends up ahead.
- park slowly. I watched a guy front end park at like 20 kph today (they failed).
- be respectful to the examiner. Acknowledge when you understand their instruction. "Yes sir/ma'am" helps to show confidence.
Other things I do/learned from my instructor:
- slow down a lot when you're making any sharp turn (90 degrees, or more acute)
- keep your hand on the wheel, even when stopped at a red light or stop sign
- lean your body forward close to the wheel when you want to get better vision (around corners, during turns/bends, anytime an obstacle blocks your field of vision)
- your torso should be twisting when you check your blind spots. If they're some mobility issues, at least rotate your head.
- wear a cap if you can so your mirror checks are more obvious to the examiner
- check your rearview mirror when stopping
- use your horn to tell other drivers to move past you when they have the right of way. This situation can happen when you're in the middle of a 3-point turn, or you're correcting your parallel park and need to go out again (and therefore take other people's right of way).
- when parallel parking, check if the car in front of you is shiny. If it is, the reflection of your car in the car in front of you can be somewhat useful for checking if you're close enough to the curve. Otherwise use your right-side mirror as best you can.
- you are allowed to ask the instructor if you can correct your parallel park, or re-do it completely. If you hit the curb gently (it doesn't jolt your body) it's not a fail, just ask to re-do it. You get two chances it seems. Same for the parking you do when you get back.
There are a lot of things I learned from my instructor, and it's impossible to remember all of them when you're on the road. However, if you practice recalling as many of these things as possible while driving, you'll remember enough to do well on the test. Overall biggest tip from me is to go into this test with the attitude "everything's going to be fine. If I pass, that's great. If I fail, I'll pass at some point and this is just part of the journey." Listen to your favourite relaxing music to calm your nerves if you feel anxious.
My instructor is extremely strict and kind of eccentric, but I would 10/10 recommend them for anyone who is ready to get seriously grilled to correct the many many driving faults we new drivers have. His students have apparently got a 90% pass-first-try rate, which I doubted on Day 1, but after 12 hrs I'm kind of convinced now. Let me know if you'd like a recommendation.

Just passed by test after watching this video twice, thank you so much. Quick note because of Covid the bar at the end has turned the area where you turn in/out of the parking lot into a little patio. Because of this on the way back you go past the lights and turn left into the parking lot, then you go around the parking lot and come back from the other side.

Evgeniy thank you so much for this video. It helped me to pass on August 14, 2020 from the first attempt. I have been practicing driving the route you show in the video like 10-15 times. All instructors say that it is a 99.9% chance it will be the route during the exam and it is true.
But I got into 1% and my examiner told me to turn right on Curlew Dr ( intersection before the Underhill ) and we went all away back to Victoria Park. But I practice driving there with an instructor so was surprised but still new the most of the territory.
The video was super helpful to reduce anxiety.
One little note. Your partner in the video says " If you hit the curb with a tire it is a fail". It sounds like if you hit a curb then it means that you fail the exam. It is not the case as it is a mistake and you allowed a few. I in matter of fact hit the curb during parallel parking and still passed.

did this route today sometimes the examiner wont even ask you to change lanes when going towards underhill, only askes you to change lanes when going back to the test center. and also i was only asked to do front parking but maybe i got lucky. trust me if i can pass first try you 100% can. you might be scared of making mistakes because you are nervous but everything you practiced is muscle memory now so it will just happen without much effort during the test. good luck

Did the test last week, and I can confirm it’s the exact same route. I was made to do uphill parking with curb, parallel parking, and forward parking into any spot upon return to the centre.

Tiny warning: I did the test two days ago, but they did not use the same route. I went left out of the parking lot instead. I do not remember where we ended up going as I was very focused on driving. I passed on my first try! Just make sure you don't just rely on this route, because you don't know if this is where you will actually drive.
Spontaneously booked a road test tomorrow at this location because a spot opened up and i'm glad I found this video. Crossing my fingers I pass.

[Sept 26 2020] I had my test here the day before and I can safely say that this is the exact route (at least for me) and thanks to this video I passed!! I did uphill parking, 3 point turn and parallel parking. I wanna say I was super nervous and I did mess up a bit but still passed! Just be confident in your driving and take your time in the parking lot. Good luck to everyone!

Do you just park in any spot in the back and then go in to sign in so that they know you are here. Or do you go in first and then pull into the back?
Just past my g2! Second attempt. First attemp was in Downsview. Both times I learned a lot from you videos. In my first attempt I was kinda under a lot of pressure and ruined my parallel parking. However this time I tried to be relaxed. Thanks man!! Your videos are great! Easy..simple..no show off..very clear and so close to real tests.

Nov 18 - did the test, same route. Downhill parking, 3 point turn, parallel and we went back. Examiner was really easy-going and the test took 10 minutes. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Thank you OP for this video, I was super nervous but it all worked out!

this video helped me pass my test on my first try! i had one hiccup around the 6:00 mark where a car making a left didnt yield right of way to me and the examiner had to press her break lol other than that it was smooth. i forgot to change into the right lane on the way back but she didnt seem to care. whole test probably took 7 or 8 minutes once we started driving - really short

Then back to the test center. I did uphill park, parallel park and 3 point turn. My test was 10 minutes. Tip whatever you do try not to go over the 40km speed limit once you're in the school zone. They will automatically fail u even if its just by 1km!

I’ve watched this video multiple times and I can come here to the comments to say thank you for helping me to pass my G2! The only difference with my test is that because that patio on the corner before you make the first left got extended, I started my test taking a left and going around the back of the plaza!

@@bestofrachel when I turned back onto Lawrence, I went into the middle lane and my instructor told me to stay in that lane after I made the lane switch. And as a matter of fact, my instructor didn’t tell me to do any lane switches when I started my road test

After you turned off of Lawrence I did the first left..... then pulled over.... did down hill turn....then three point turn.....went a little then parallel park then went back after turning back on to Lawrence tured in the center lane ...about to turn into the curd lane she said stay here .... then told me to go into the left lane and turn at the next lights go around back and park forward....end of test

I took a completely different route, I went left on Lawrence instead of right. However, it was still the same concept. I am writing this as I wait for my temporary g2. Thanks Evgeniy!

Thanks guys! I had my test today - same route- same instructions.
1- Instructor was very rude ( asked me to stop at fire hydrant) - I indicated there is the hydrant but he asked me to stop. 🤷♂️
2- He honked at someone and asked me to be “reactive”
3- he asked me to stop for pedestrians in parking area( I did not as pedestrians where stationary and they moved all of a sudden when car was approaching) - how will I know when the guy will move
4- this route is crazy nowadays with so many trucks, cars etc !
I passed this exam but recommend you to book somewhere with less traffic , please

Last month I failed my test. Same route as shown on your video. You know why I failed? Everything was good, parallel parking, 3 point turn, emergency stop all were perfect. I failed just when I was coming out from the parking lot. How pathetic it was. I turned right nicely at the stop sign without hitting the curb but then before turning right on the signal I realized I hit the curb. I don’t have any idea how it happened. Examiner was very good and he just said no problem, let’s proceed. After that I have gone there twice and every time I find it hard to manage exactly at the same place. I might fail again. Is there any tips on what I can do to control my car only in that small area. Please advise.

Hi Everyone, I passed G2 in first attempt today,same route as shown in the video but two small changes for me that are
1) My Examiner did not ask left lane change
2)After left turn,i changed one lane to right and am trying to change one more right lane but examiner told no need its ok.

I am taking my g2 test next Wednesday . My question is can I make a right turn on onto Lawrence on the red light if oncoming traffic is clear ?
I wasn't asked to do a parallel park but I had to reverse park and then do a front end park. I butchered the reverse park but I corrected it and passed

Hello evryone - I passed my g2 today - sep 3 - want to share my experience to u:
1. The exit from the centre is going right - so u need to go thru the narrow road and around the patio.
2. Then need to turn right - going to the major road - I was actually on the curve back then cause it was so busy (so I steer too much right when turning) - my exam is on 10 am- the examiner made a comment but I still proceed Cause f that hahah
3. I had the stop light and I need to turn right - I watched the pedestrian countdown tbh hahahah - the road was so busy so I have an excuse to not go to - so I waited for the green light before to go- CHECK FIRST THE BLINDSPOT - like say it out loud “ check blindspot - no pedestrian”
4. Told me to go straight - I was on 50 the whole time
5. Told me to go right on the under hill str - I got lucky cause th light just turned green woot party - so AGAIN I CHECK MY BLINDSPOT for people and say it out loud “checking pedestrian - blindspot”
6. Went to residential - stayed 40
7. I knew we r going left anytime, so I stayed close to my left line lol
8. He told me to go left on some street - check again FOR PEDESTRAIN + BLINDSPOT
9. Told me uphill + 3 point turn - DONT FORGET UR SIGNAL GUYS - When u r backing on ur 3 point turn - CHECK THE BACK side, do not use only ur mirror
10. Parallel - lol funny about this is . I WAS SO CLOSE ON THE CURVE - I was already on parallel and my car is legit touching the curve amen lol
11. When exiting parallel - DONT FORGET UR SIGNAL + MIRROR + BLINDSPOT
12 exiting now the residential - sayonara - I checked right away the PEDESTRIAN from LEFT TO RIGHT - mine was green light - so check also to the upcoming traffic
13 once turned - I went change lane to the right. Stayed 50. Examiner told me to just stay here on the middle amen- the fate is on my side that day.
14. Told me to go to left again - told him after intersection since im coming in on the first intersection - so MIRROR + BLINDSPOT and turned amen
15. Finally on the Victoria Terrence lol - I need to turn left going back to centre hahahahah it was f busy haahahah it was green - went to centre but nope, didn’t even move until the coast is clear - LIKE 3 LANES R CLEAR - u can see the next stop and I did my turn when it’s red stop there hehehe
16 right away need to go left - SIGNAL PPL - Don’t forget
17. front parking at the end
18. Examiner told me I passed and happy belated bday since it was bday yesterday - then I just happily cried hahahahhaah amen
Hope this helps to everyone out there - just practice practice until u r confident. BE PATIENCE hahaha do not push when u know u will be rushed - So CHEERS TO THIS ACHIEVEMENT !!!

Just a couple of questions:
What's the speed limit in side the test centre since it's way bigger than other centres, I'm a bit worried that examiners would ask us to pick up higher speed.
When he told you to pull over, did you park or you just waited for the next instruction?

@@bestofrachel awesome! And the speed limit for the main road is 50? So it starts between 20 to 30 in the centre.. 50 in the main and those residential areas are 40km/h!
Its not the same rout anymore. I was hearing people talking about it when I was parked there. And when I did my test it was so different but I still passed. As long as you follow whats expected even if they take you on the moon you will pass. Knowing the route doesn’t really matter I figured. My advice is make sure you watch other videos that teach you how to do things rather than showing the route. Still good video to watch.

I passed my G2 test today and I got the same route 🙌. Thank God. I saw some people who went left instead of turning right to head out of the plaza. My instructor was super cool 😎 like he even helped me. When I made a left turn he told me to lane change to the right instantly even though I was going to do it. Check your blind spots guys all the time. Swing your head even when u don't see anything lol. Seriously though if u see someone in blindspot. Don't change lanes that's very important. Check your mirrors while driving along. 🚗
