    This will sound cruel...some time soon another woman in Tx will have this experience. The people forcing these laws should be in the hospital for the birth and forced to witness the trauma they are inflicting on these parents. The law makers should hold the newborn, get to truly experience it's existance, for however long it takes, whether it is a few hours or days. Let's see if the law makers have the courage necessary to go through that. And if the law maker is male, their spouse has to be by their side the entire time as well. Just a thought.

    I don't know what might have caused the babies disability, but i think the solution should be better health care for babies and feutus not taking their lives. The mum could have developed complications herself and nobody would have moved to end her, they'll rather try to save her so why not extend same grace to the feutus

    • @samanthagibson5791
      @samanthagibson5791 Месяц назад +6

      It's different between someone who has lived a while verus a fetus or embryo. There are different types of medical problems they could have.
      The baby, in this case, had a congenital deformity which was incompatible with life. No surgery or medication could fix that. But adults do not have congenital deformities incompatible with life, so the problems they have may be fixable with surgery or medication. If the problem is fixable why not try. If it is not fixable there is no point in trying.

    • @xstlady52

      As a healthcare worker and physician's wife, I can tell you that better health care would have no impact on a developmental problem like anencephaly, just as it wouldn't help lethal chromosomal abnormalities or prevent the 1 in 5 pregnancies that are spontaneous abortions, aka miscarriages, as I had with the best healthcare. Pregnancy is not straightforward, it is ALWAYS risky.

    Just because it may or may not make it past birth doesn't mean you throw a baby in the trash. Why would you give up on a baby, regardless of whether or not the baby lives after birth? You know a hundred years ago people couldn't keep their children alive even though nothing was wrong with the children, now you're throwing children away because it would be convenient for you not to deal with them when something goes wrong? Our ancestors would be ashamed of what we've become if they could see us now.😔😔😞😢

      So you think a baby should be forced to go through 4 hours of mind shattering pain before dying just so the grieving mother can say she 'didn't give up'?
      If you suddenly came down with some sickness that was going to kill you regardless but you could either live for an extra 4 hours in absolute agony or just die painlessly would you really say you would choose those extra 4 hours of pain?
