Thank you for this video! I build this yesterday with the blue box vs orange .. so awesome! I didn't add an extra fuse as my fish finder has one, but am wondering if I should add a backup on the battery side of the 2 pin quick connect. TIA for anyone with thoughts on this.
If your finder has one and you trust it then it should be good, i added one on the positive thats slightly higher amp than my total system for safety, but i also added a usb port and small 12v light, he didnt.
Do you think mounting the fish finder display (7 inch) on top and put the box between my legs while fishing in my kayak be a good idea? I paddle and don’t have pedals…
Mr Radio voice, nice video! Thanks for the informative segment! Could you please share the exact waterproof wire plugs you’ve used via link or company & product name?
Yes that one is a 12ah 12 v battery. Although I didn't have good luck with that battery lasting as it is totally dead and won't take a charge anymore. I'm going to replace it with a 12v 10ah battery since they are quite a bit less expensive and will be plenty of power for what I need. Enjoy the box though I still love it. Thanks for watching!
regardless of whether or not it makes a difference between wet or dry this was a very cool and neatly compact install .
Thank you!
hi...love the idea...where did you get the plugs at???
Is the battery laying on its side? I always thought they needed to be straight up, I may be wrong though
DANG!!!! That's a swweeet setup you got there. Great work!!! I would be embarrassed to show you my kayak.....LOL, LMAO.
Thank you very much!
YES DUDE!!! I was just researching grommets. Would love to know the brand and size you bought. I need to do the exact same thing for my Bonafide
Thank you. The box has worked out great. I will have look it up since I forgot the name of them. I will go through my Amazon list tomorrow.

Do you think you could a a Ram Ball to the top or a piece of t-track and convert this to a hole hopping ice fishing box?
I don't Ice fish but I don't see why you couldn't.
Nice
Thanks!
like the box and especially those waterproof connectors. Do they have a special name or a location of a company that sells them. Thanx

@@stephensodergren1825 good video do you have a link where to get the orange box from please
what gauge of wire? what type of battery? thanks
Hi. I just used the wire from the GPS 12v power supply cord. The battery is just a small agm 10ah.
What's size cable glands did you use?
I believe they are about a 1/4 in. I bought a pack that had a variety to choose from.

Did you seal the grommets with any silicone or loctite where they meet the box?
No the cable glands make a waterproof seal.
Would the battery be fried if the quick connect SAE connection got water on it?
No that has not been a problem
Where did you find the quick connect, I'm new to this and wanting to make the box

Question..Do you have to use a inline fuse or is it not needed?
I use one just to be safe. Not sure if it is totally necessary though.

@@MSMAdventures Thank you much sir. I'm definatly ordering these and getting my rig ready for spring.
Can you use a small 12v battery from a lawn mower to power a fish finder? Trying to hook mine up in my kayak and not sure if that’s safe to do or not
Any 12v power source should power it up. There is usually an online fuse to protect the unit as well.
MSM Adventures thanks for the information appreciate it
MSM, did you say 12v, 12 amp battery? I am going to make this and want to make sure the battery fits.

@@MSMAdventures Thaanks bud. Good luck.
I couldn’t get those grommets in all the way lol
I cant remember what drill I used. I think I just sized it to the cable gland that I used
