I think being creative needs having an inspiring group around you. You need to focus on fresh perspectives rather than becoming formulaic. I agree with Class
So is stressing about not reading for enjoyment, evidence that you're not really listening to your recommendations! I just finished 3 weeks of just stopping. I feel better for the break. Sorry for nagging.
Hehehe I know I need to do better when it comes to looking after myself. I’ve known for a while but I just can’t help myself! I really miss reading as soon as I wake up, and before I go to sleep. But I’m in a rut of doomscrolling right now I guess! 🙏🖤
@AdamGaryPoetry it is doomscrolling, not the lack of reading, that is the problem. Short stories when your busy are great. I find Somerset Vaughan's short stories really satisfying even hough they were written a long time ago.

Sorry I missed this: my husband is still in care facility and awaiting surgeries. On the plus side I did write my first poem in YEARS!!
