Instead of saying this was a true story, the producers should have said that it's based on a true story. Hollywood likes to play fast and loose with the facts just to make a movie more compelling but the fact remains that Ouimet won the playoff by five shots over Vardon and Ray.

I have watched this movie about 6 times and I cry at the ending every time....LOVE IT ! Beautifully. Acted and. Perfectly cast! Well worth watching and I will watch it again now!

This is a remarkable movie even if you're not a golf fan. The acting the costumes and the colors are wonderful and the music is beautiful. Shia did a great job portraying a real golf legend .........
The scene where Harry Vardon goes off on that guy ridiculing Francis Ouimet and thinking he’s not worthy of a trophy is one of my favorites. Harry shows in that moment he knows the value of being good at a sport.

I accidentally sent this version produced by whoever to my wife, and she told me everything was backwards and the quality was all fuzzy. I didn't believe it until I looked. The version that RUclips movies has is clear as a bell and the lettering isn't all messed up. You sir should fix this if you read this

What a Great Film? & an especially Fantastic Story? When I First Viewed this Film. I rented it at Our Local, Library. After viewing it, I also watched all the Outtakes, making of the film, the Cast interviews, & the True Story of Francis, along with His Personal Memories, of that Time.
Each time I've Watched it, since it's release in 2005. This Great Film n Story still brings Tears 😂😭 too my Eyes, & I can't help but Cry. There are many places it Happens. The really Touching one is the Ending.
Where His Father insists on Trying to give Francis, The Dollar while He is being Carried by the Spectators. Also in that Sequence of Frames, when they also show Francis's, Mother also watching Him Play the Tournament.
I just couldn't hold the flood back anymore 🤣🤣. IT was truly thrilling & Beautiful? When She first saw Her Husband in the Crowd, accepting Her Son's Victory, from The Crowd.
This Great Film 📽️👀📽️ has always reminded me, of my Own long past, though very minor & brief Victories, I had on occasions with My parents. My own Father was similar too Francis's was when I was ohh 18-25, & I was combining ReC Sport's too My, what He thought was Still? My work Time. FGI, at the Time I was employed by the Family Company.
Throughout my Association with the Business. I was Paid on a Monthly Salary basis! Thus My Father & I had our little Spats? About how I was using my Limited Off Time?.

Header Gm. I had too leave work Early. So of course My Dad was Pissed Off at Me, & the interruption of Our Work. Too make this Story short in conclusion. During the Second Game that Nite. I came up to Bat near the End of the Game.
As I Stepped up too Bat, The Umpire waved me back/called A Time Out?
He then began Asking, a Spectator n Fellow person too Turn Her Car's Headlights Off, Immediately as they were in the Opposing Teams Eyes 👀👀🤔👀 thus Blinding Them. So Sorry for being long of 😛😜😛😜
When I then turned too see Who the Delay was caused by? Boy Oh Boy 😘👀 did I Have a Wonderful 👍😊 though Embarrassing Revelation, at that moment. Turns out it Was My Mom & My Aunt, were the Ones in that Car. They both Loved Baseball so they'd come Out too Watch Me Play, that Night. After the Umpire got the Game commenced again. In My at Bat appearance, I was able too Connect & Hit A Home Run, for the Team. So there it is? One of my small Victories, that I shared with my Mother. I also had some with my Dad.
Here I was Blabbering again about Me,instead of the Damn Film.
Too close now, I would Venture too say that I personally Believe, this Film 📽️ "The Greatest Game" is One of the Top Ten, too of came Out since say 2000. This is just My Personal thinking of Course? If you’ve never seen the film before, don’t watch it here. It’s cropped to Hell and back, and it’s posted backwards. The sound quality is not good, and some of the scenes are not recognizable because of the cropping. If you want to revisit the film as a memory, this isn’t too bad, but I wonder if the poster thought he had to do all this to get around copyright?

Honestly the haze you put over the movie helps signify the timeframe of when the movie is based. Given that it’s based off the 1913 US open. It gives it an old-timey feel

This version shows backward and it's a lousy recording for this wonderful movie. The original shows the beautiful clothes colors and the way they lay out the story is great. Too bad we don't get the original better version. That costs .......this is free and the music is beautiful too

This is such a terrific movie, much more deserving of a quality upload. Recommend renting, seeing it full as opposed to this one third or less imagry, in addition to an extremely poor video and audio. Renting is well worth it. Myself I could never view any movie in this condition.

Vardon didn't use an interlocking grip, he used an overlapping grip, although he didn't actually invent it, it is known as the "Vardon Grip".
