Thank you so much for sharing your trip to a Chinese bead-making factory so we can visually see the process and understand better the actual value of the beads that we select and use in our designs. I often tell my jewelry-making students that just because some beads originate from China does not mean they are bad or inferior, in fact, quite the opposite in many cases. There are valid concerns with metals and their differences in safety requirements with chemicals processing for components, but beads are quite amazing from all around the world. Sparkle on!
Absolutely amazing. I always wondered how they were made. I have a whole new appreciation for the beautiful beads I use in my jewelry business. Don't mind paying the price.
Thank you so much for this! I saw some 4mm agate beads for sale nearly as cheaply as glass beads and couldn't rest until I understood the process. -- I still don't understand how those tiny ones can be so cheap - but this is leagues forward in my knowledge. Thank you again, so much.
Wow! Thanks so much! I've been a Jewelry Artist for almost 15 years and I have wondered how this process was done!?!? I could never find anything on the subject. I truly appreciate this video! :)
Wow..., I find this so amazing and grew my appreciation on how beads are made. Thank you for taking the time to share this video! I love gemstones and crystals.
Oh my goodness, this is fascinating! Thank you so much for sharing. I'm wearing some gemstone bracelets right now, and to think, before they went through that process, they were formed sometimes millions of years ago by nature. Then humankind steps in. We're wearing a history and ingenuity when we wear these.
Thank you for this!! I truly appreciate your work and all the work it takes to make beads. I have a crystal bead bracelet obsession ❤ and am making my own…2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm,12mm…I can’t stop 😊
I was wondering about this process must be like today with a friend, who then found this video. Thanks for creating it. How are the tumbled, polished beads separated from the polishing materials and placed into the molds ready for drilling? Is the stringing a manual or machine-driven process?
What a wonderful video thank you! I wonder at who designed and manufactured the machines and tools to make the beads and how much that infrastructure could cost! How wonderful is this!
Appreciate this muchly. How do I know whether my beads have been made in a lab or whether it's directly from the rock as in vid? My supplier does not share insights
I have a small shop on Etsy, making gemstone bracelets and necklaces. Do you think I would be able to share this video on there? I'm not sure if it's possible but it's amazing how much work goes into making the gemstones! Thanks for posting 👍
Brilliant vid. Found this because I'm looking for Aberdeen Granite beads and they don't seem to exist so I was wondering how I could go about getting some made. A lengthy process it appears!
How fascinating! And this was being done even thousand year ago though without electric machinery. Amazing things have been accomplished by humans and yet.....simple ones remain beyond their practice or even grasp. I suppose this whole subject is very complicated. Physical and visible matters are relatively simple! LoL...
Thanks a lot for the information. What about the 2mm round beads (very very small), these look like 10mm, or the faceted ones, or the other shapes (oval, square....). Please inform us.
The water mixed with the dust looks like paint. Some gemstones such as malachite and lapis lazuli were ground up to make pigments for paint. I Imagine the dust from the bead making process of those particular minerals could be still made into paint.
Thanks so much for sharing this video! I learned so much and have a greater appreciation for my beads. Knowing that someone have to mine and do the heavy lifting to bring it to the factory. And all steps it takes in between to get a bead. So cool ! Thanks!
This is so amazing. I made loads of jewellery, but never knew how they made the round beads. Thank you for this.
That was awesome. Gives me a greater appreciation for the beads and their prices. Thank you. 😊

how do you make your own beads? do you have the machinery?
@@terryadavisl488 No, beginner stretch bracelets lol
That looks like its labor intensive, and a lot of water is used, can you do it with oil?, since water is becoming scare?,

Depends on scale as well I've made small quantities of beads with a diamond blade tile saw and a dental lathe
