  • In the 60's surfing was rarely an activity in which non whites indulged. During the 70's and 80's surfing it started catching on among non whites who had a hard time getting to the best surfing spots because of beach Apartheid coupled with the antagonism of some white surfers who thought Apartheid will never fall - How wrong they were. But non-whites persevered forming a few clubs around the country Namely Natal, the eastern Cape and Western Cape.
    This video is 10 minute piece of an early inter-provincial competition which was won by Cass Collier.
