Forgotten just how much I love this song, makes me want to sing out loud. Fantastic rendition of it too. Takes me back to1985 16 years old, first time on the isle of wight stayed at brading. If I could have a" forever time & place "that would be VERY high up on my list.Had good Health, I was young, happy best mates with me, parents still alive ...
C'est probablement la chanson que j'ai le plus écoutée de level 42 depuis mon adolescence. Elle figure désormais toujours dans mes compilations slow. Combien de larmes j'ai versées et combien d'espoirs j'ai formé à son écoute. It’s probably the song I’ve listened to the most since I was a teenager. It’s still in my slow compilations. How many tears I shed and how many hopes I formed in listening to it ( sorry for any possible mistakes, English is not my native language)
first time saw mark king is "struggling" with playing and singing at the same time, so this has to be one of the hardest songs to play ;D cool, love this !!!
Men ... Weird that Men, as a general group, have the reputation of being incapable of, and reluctant to display their innermost feelings and yet ... It is Men, who produce excruciatingly heartfelt songs like Lying Still. Men, who most often successfully complete suicide. If you know a man who seems paradoxically lonely, maybe ... Just give him a hug. RIP, Boon. Peace at last.
Always a great live performance by Level 42. Dunno if it's just me, but I still prefer the studio recorded version of "Lying Still" though. I think it may have something to do with their substitution of atmospheric synth with saxophone. As much as I love the sax (as a jazz lover), it has no place in this piece...
@@liverpoolhw Listened again. Maybe not sax after all. Just know the original was more atmospheric, probably synth generated. Always will be tough to reproduce live, so this is still gorgeous..
I was there, this song blew me away!
Little did I realise the lyrics would be so relevant to me now....
So good.
There music was a big part of my teen years....and it is still in my rotation today!! One of the most underrated band of the 80's....
Boon's heartfelt lyrics make this such a great song...you are not forgotten.
one of my favorite bands of all time... good vibes from 🇧🇷✌️😉

Not only a one of a kind bass player but a great singer, too! Mark, you rule!
One of the best jazz-fusion bridges of any "pop" song. :-)

To my opinion, "it"s over"from running in the family is another good ballad they made.
Very beautiful song !!.. Level 42 is awesome !! :)
For me it's the best song on Level 42, although it has lyrics or a romantic story about who's down.

First time I’ve heard this live.
Brilliant version. Never did know how this track would work live
Love the keyboard sounds. Is that Mr Lindup ?
No Mike was on hiatus on that time
This was as Grupo Mark King, Lyndon Connah was on keys, I saw him with Go West shortly before Retroglide was released
2:01 me if i ever went to a level 42 concert
I love Gary Husband. Multi-talented. But Phil Gould had something about his drumming...I can't explain.
❤
