This song still brings me to tears. I was so young when it came out and life seemed so full of promise. All I got was misery. However this and a lot of other songs gave me so much happiness. Thank you so much and to my grandmother who listened to all these songs with me. Thank you nan. Hope to be with you soon.xx
Unfortunately, that will most likely never happen. None of them have really been on speaking terms with each other, with the exception of maybe Graham Gouldman and Kevin Godley. Eric and Graham haven't spoken to each other for decades. Not to mention that Eric's been offered all kinds of sums of money to reunite the original lineup again, and he has turned them down cold every time. He's done with 10cc.
@@cubdukat People who have been in bands… that had some success-but ended in strife, understand why this is so tough! “Ok, not just those who have been in bands”. It ends up feeling like you just went through an ugly divorce with someone you used to love, but now can’t really handle being in the same room with. Terrible, I know🥺 Just my 2 cents from having played music with friends and family!
@@cubdukat so wrong!! Gouldman stopped it from happening! He is greedy beyond believe and betrayed Eric! Eric is happily retired...as for greedy Gouldman....😡😡😡😡
Went to see 10cc back in 1973 at Cardiff castle, saw them this weekend at Swansea Arena, absolutely brilliant yes some original band members weren't there however this didn't compromise the professional brilliant outstanding performance, took me back 40 years, good times remembered,
One of the best yet underrated misunderstood bands of all time. Songwriting perfection, uber original harmonies, mind's eye music with all the heart there is. They will always be in my top 5 favourites of all time, simply because they are very original.
+bjorn freed you are 100% correct, no one got the political undertones in wallstreet shuffle either,, i love these guys, though i was a kid when they were at there hight.
They are not underrated... Their first singles topped the charts, 'I'm not in love' one of the best known (and most covered) songs ever, and they invented a genre. Uh, they also invented a musical instrument... ;-)
Underrated by whom exactly. They sold factories full of records had No1's world wide and even survived 1/2 the band splitting and came back with a massive hit (the things we do for love) No underrated is something these guys were not then and not now.
Mr. Gouldman and Mr. Steward, I can not express enough how much I enjoy and appreciate what you did. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a quality that has become much rarer nowadays.
Eric is a true star .Not only does he have the looks,He is a great all round musician, plus his awesome stage presence. and voice ,I miss the concerts at M/C Appollo in the 70s+80s Ahhh
'How Dare You' are probably one of the most underrated albums from the 70s ! I just love every song on it. And ofcourse, Im Mandy Fly Me, who can ever forget it....
I just picked up a really good original pressing this past summer, along with most of their other albums. The only albums on vinyl I'm missing are the self-titled one, "Deceptive Bends," "Look Hear," "Windows in the Jungle and "...Meanwhile."
Saw them at Knebworth, or rather I 'heard' them.....there was something obstructing my view, but it didn't matter....they LITERALLY sounded exactly like the records...amazing!
Do you realize how many times we have watched this??? Look at the number of views. Small percentage of likes, because the 635 have watched it over and over. Masterpiece.
10cc were always something of a guilty pleasure, genre defying writing and top quality production. This clip proves what a great live band they were, i wish I'd seen them when I had the chance
Have always loved this song as my parents used to be 10cc fans. Being a musician myself I'd often wondered how well such a complex song would work live......now I know, brilliantly !!
Always felt like 10cc were a song writing academy. Each new album was: "ok kids, this is the new curriculum, try to learn the chords and why they work."
Saw one of the last ever concerts by the original line up - on a rearranged date at Glasgow Apollo, after one of the 4 became ill and they cancelled the original date. Absolutely fantastic! Amazing that only 4 musicians could play so many instruments, all sing really well and multitask through the whole evening. Obviously you can’t turn back the clock, but it was a real tragedy that the original band split. C’est la vie. It remains a great memory.
Eric is soo talented on the guitar I love watching him play, but I find it it hard looking at two places at once I love watching his hand work on the guitar but also like to look at his lovely face.
Wish they would come to New Jersey. I'd see them anytime. Eric Stewart is not only a great songwriter and singer, he also plays superb lead guitar. Great band!
I can remember going in the house with Carol she was my best freind at the time and Eric and the rest of the group was in their front room and I was so shy and all they did was laugh ...loved their music ever since ....beautiful family specially his mum ...miss them all xx 😁💖💖
@Peter Greene This song became one of my all time faves when I heard it back in the mid ‘70’s when my college roommate spun the vinyl! He became the best man at my wedding. Should have had the DJ play this song then.
Probably to this day, 7155Kev. Their musical and lyrical genius has never been surpassed in my view. In particular, I think that Life is a Minestrone has the most wonderful Lyric that I have ever heard. Long live 10CC
How good would it be if Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman were joined in concert for one night only at Wembley Stadium by Kevin Godley and Lol Creme. That would be so legendary that I think I would die
I've just realised that I've spent a lovely evening listening to 10cc with most songs posted by Annie, thanks so much Annie. What a fabulous band, so talented and so many wonderful songs.Up there with the best, no, they are the best!!
@srober5766. So did I and I am still a fan, in fact I appreciate them & their talents even more now. Would love to see a reunion with Eric, Graham, Lol & Kevin back together again !
The first time I heard this song, was the day after my brother and I bought a hi-fi stereo system way back in 1976. That day, we went to the record store and just picked out some random albums. How Dare You! I picked out, because I loved the photography on the cover. The entire album remains fresh to this day, after hundreds of listens. Get it!
No problems - glad this is the one you referred to. My first album was 10cc back in 1973 then every album release and now CD duplications up to Do Not Bend the last solo project from Eric Stewart - very highly recommended (but as I always say, I am biased where ES is concerned!)
Thanks for posting, been feeling a little bit nostalgic today and started recalling songs from my childhood. Although I liked this song at the time its only with hind sight you realize just how amazing this was. To produce songs of such harmononious melodies, string arrangements and vocals, with technology that compared with what is available today is relatively stoneage, shows just what a fantastic band 10 cc were. The live performances are the closest thing to studio quality of any band.
love this....think its my favourite of 10cc. seen them live 2 years ago, they played this and it blew me away. gouldman was the only original member but amazing still. i started playing guitar shortly after. :) cant believe that someone disliked this! shame on them.
I saw them on first(I think) u s tour 1973? After 2nd lp came out?origonal 4 guys only.Astonishingly good, they were on fire. Sounded more”like the record” than any band ever.So glad I went.Boston ,Orpheum theater.
Heavily modded, a definitely different sounding Les Paul. And the guitar may have originally belonged to Graham Gouldman. There's an older pic of Graham jamming with Lol Creme with that guitar, and it wasn't black, but sunburst. Eric later installed a stereo control switch on it to make it even louder!
Sounds very much the same as the Les Paul of Al di Meola's! He almost always used the Les Paul. A neat, tiny gadget compared to the SG. We all have our favourites for different reasons.
Great live version...Consider yourselves lucky on that side of the Atlantic. You still get to see them live...I'd still love to see them, 50% original or not...They do a fantastic job and still care about the integrity of the originals. Truly wonderful stuff!
One of the greatest bands of those years; original line-up, or not: Irrelevant, 'cause they changed personel quite often, but always played at their best. Was so fortunate to see them live once in the late 70's

Carol, how are you doing? This is very sad to me.
It brings me to tears too, but because poor old Mandy's body couldn't be found!! And that was after rescuing Eric Stewart from sharks !! 🦈
@@DanHunterSportsWriter But were they at least in the Mile High Club?? 🤔 I've often wondered.
I would pay anything to see the original line up of 10cc get back together again and do a tour.
How about $1000?
So would I x

This song has the lot. Fantastic harmonies, guitar breaks,😊and ball breaking guitar solos. Does not get the respect it deserves.

Brilliant. Massively underrated band, innovative, four quality musicians at their peak.
Why this group split up is a musical tragedy, so much talent. Took over from where the Beatles left off.
What an amazing live performance. Mandy is a wonderful song but I never thought 10cc could pull it off live - and to such perfection!
