The Volkswagen Atlas received a significant refresh for 2024, updating its exterior, interior, and engine, while retaining its original 2018 platform. Competing against models like the Mazda CX-90, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Kia Telluride, the Atlas aims to stay relevant. The exterior updates include a horizontal light bar across the grill and an illuminated Volkswagen emblem. The fully loaded SEL R-Line model, priced at around $54,000, features redesigned LED daytime running lights and an elegant new bumper and headlight design.

Things to mention. It runs on regular gasoline, in order to turn off auto stop you have to go through 2 screens, and to improve handling I put it in sport mode. I own a 2019 top of the line and love it.
Add the start stop to the quick settings so you just have to swipe down to turn off. You’re welcome
If this Atlas is the same size or bigger than the last version, you can easily fit a queen size bed in the rear...and close the gate comfortably.
If this was hybrid we would consider this over the CX90/70
It would be great if you guys could review the Atlas Cross Sport too & a comparison b/w both., for someone like me, unable to decide b/w both 😅
The Atlas styling has barely changed since 2018, not sure why you’re acting like the styling is radically different
They should have gone with 2 cylinder triple turbos! Then it would make more sense.
How tall are you? Required for referencing the space in a 3 row!!
just had my second kid and im getting a 3 row suv soon. gonna be one of these or a honda pilot. tough choice. ive been a vw guy forever and currently have a 17 gti but i also have an 09 honda crv i love. might come down to the wire on this one
This seems like the better driving option versus the pilot. The pilot will have a stronger residual. But it's a weak interior, it's very generic, all black, made to be super durable but just boring. The pilot is the rational choice, but the Atlas is just a cooler vehicle.
Stay away from Honda get 4Runner instead
Not sure why VW dropped the VR6 for a 4 cylinder that gets similar gas mileage.
The vr6 was slow and bad mpg
Most important is the turbo
Emissions
@@ovaltine224 That's the only reason that makes sense.
The Turbo's are problematic on VW's
I like it but would rather go for Acura hybrid MDX or ZDX or a slightly used Q8 or Q8 etron.
Just drive this for several days and i love the ride and feel and when the tech works it's great. But only 8,000 miles on the 2024 we had and already having issues. The assistive driving features which includes ACC and SOS Features kept failing. Just found out many 2024 Atlas are having issues with this sensor and is needing to be replaced. Also, having you go through the screen for almost anything is really distracting.
The new shifter is nice and android auto is great. But overall, i would never buy this brand new. Those touch sensitive buttons are horrible and really not intuitive. They need the physical buttons again.
For the size of the vehicle, the 4 cyl continues to seem the wrong choice. The only way to truly test the new engine is to load up the car with a min of 5 people and luggage. To take it further, add the full 7 persons, luggage, and possibly tow something small.
Mazda dropped their 6 cylinder for a four? Huh? In line six ring a bell?
This VW four popper has worse gas mileage figures than a Pathfinder V6.
no more auto brake on the VWs it seems. Use mine a fair amount and have arthritis that makes it a desirable feature.
THE ATLAS ISN’T A MIDSIZE…ITS THE SAME SIZE AS A FORD EXPLORER….I HAD A 2018 ATLAS….LOVED IT EXCEPT THE LACK OF POWER….I FELT LIKE FRED FLINTSTONE MERGING ON THE HIGHWAY LOL …I THINK THIS MIGHT BE MY NEXT SUV SINCE I CAN’T AFFORD THE BIG BROTHER…AUDI Q7 OR 8….
It's funny how they are so enthusiastic about all the standard features. Everything should be standard at the prices they are charging. They act like VW is doing you a favor giving you all these features standard
Idk man, I’ve been shopping around and VW is actually priced more competitively than the others. The base model has more features than the competition.
VR6 all the way...
I wondered why sounded cheap 😂 because V4
Do you really ride Mazda and/or Kia? Sounds like stupid advertising...
VR6
VW version of a refresh is replacing the awesome music from the VR6 with a popcorn 🍿 fart machine! Pathetic!
It still looks like a noisy piece of shit 💩!!!!! The extra lights is good when you need a tow at night !!!!!!😆😆😆😆
Just got one, more quiet than our Jeep GC Overland, Toyota and Honda we test drove. Way, way better than we thought it would be. Better performance than the laggy V6..
@@emaun5948Does it still have that snappy throttle on take off?
I had an '18 SEL R-Line with Michelin LTX tires from previous owner and I only got @330 mileage to a tank. Didn't have. Chance to put it on the road due to a hit & run driver.
I think none of these manufacturers would have ditched their V-6 engines (or V-8s for that matter) if the Biden/Harris' administration didn't mandate these fuel standards because of their attack on oil. People don't realize the increased costs of these turbo engines for maintenance and general repairs. That turbo for many cases would need to come off to do repairs
