    My GOD Laterras, in the first 10 minutes she was walking so strong, truthful, and heavy!!! I am here for it all!!! This topic has vexed me for a while. Everyone has discounted love and marriage to the no value bargain bin. It’s mind blowing to me. As a whole we treat relationships like we are trying on clothes and when we don’t like the fit so to speak we change. We have removed it’s true purpose of covenant, selflessness, doing life with someone that has your back and vice versa, and the mirrored image of mercy and grace. This episode is everything because she is breaking yokes of delusions. Thank you so very much❤❤❤

    As for the bank accounts, I agree wholeheartedly. My ex-wife used to get upset because, while we had a joint account for bills (which I put into alone because I made more money), she wanted us to share all accounts and I refused. She even brought our pastor at the time into it, and he actually AGREED with HER. I still didn’t do it. No way I was going to allow her access to my personal accounts knowing she was bad with money. Didn’t make sense. Awesome episode!

    This is all a roll of the dice in finding a good relationship. Men and women communicate differently. We view our desires and weaknesses differently. Notice how many men are in here is the dynamic. Men communicate differently. This country is in a transitional and transactional social media narcissism. Look at me, look at my profiles, look at how great I am. Then swipe left.

      It’s only a roll of the dice IF you are not living by and committed to Gods true words of the Bible.
      This is honestly where EVERYONE is missing the mark. Relationships & God-ordained unions have little to do with the idea of love we as modern day humans have; there is a specified role of a husband & of a wife, Biblically speaking. Expectations on either end are unrealistic & completely unrelated to the union God truly endorses. So yes, there will ALWAYS be a battle of the sexes.
      Also, if you’re deeper in God’s word & via observations as well as several testimonies of former satanists/ witchcraft performers, this battle is 100% spiritual.

    I know exactly what she is talking about. There was a lot of passion in my marriage at the beginning, and for 19 years, I was giving a lot of compassion and had to decide to let it go. He was an angry person. I agree that it's more about character!! I had to realize that the relationship was not good for me. God is good! I forgave him and moved on. And walking more purposefully! • @suzettecounsels
      @suzettecounsels 11 месяцев назад +6

      @striving1 it was not the will of God for me to stay where I was being abused. And it was 19 years of toxicity since I was 21 years old.. I will never do that to myself again, even if I know the root. He has the responsibility to heal, and so do I. My purpose is renewed and I give God all the glory. God delivered me from that place to which I will never return. And yes to all those issues (Mom issues, trauma, you name it). God literally was the one who told me to let go.

    I love that she essentially said it is okay to want what you want but speak about it in the dating phase. Keep having your requirements based on your specific circumstances when dating.
    For me, I love what some friends do. They both work but they live on one income which literally takes the pressure off. Just because some women want things paid for doesn’t mean she wants a mansion. If she wants a leader and he is a leader, he can say if this then that. So many relationships work that way. I personally wouldn’t just make more and live to a combined standard. I would live to the standard of what he made. Some women’s checks goes towards the kids college fund and other things. This general idea is an option. I wish we can start talking about logical ways people are making thing work instead of bashing others for wanting what they want. Having needs and wants is important as well as communicating it.
    Anyhow, I like this lady.

    The success of your relationship will depend on the success of your relationship with your self, beautiful.

    We have to be culturally specific in these conversations so we don't ignored our history. I share this because within the Black Community, for the most part Black Woman have always worked. So technically for the past 100 years Black woman have brought some finances to the table alongside their men. Black woman worked during slavery - after emancipation as domestic workers, entrepreneurs such as hair dressers, door to door saleswomen, mid wives, teachers, nurses - civil rights era ushered the modern era of Black women in corporate America, academia, and tech. So for these conversation we must first audit our past so we have have a more contextualized present conversation about redefining Black gender roles, and expectations. I do believe within the Black community our finances are more egalitarian.
    I shared this because at the top of the conversation the guest friend shared her friend said in the past "that men would come in with their success and things" and "Now" Black woman are bringing the same things to the table so it is making gender roles unclear. But Black woman and men in 1965 were both given the right to go to college around 1965 and "change their trajectory" of their families lives. So I keep asking, what time period were only Black men the sole providers of success and money in the American context?

    • @banita1134
      @banita1134 11 месяцев назад +1

      Good points, but I think that biblical standards for marriage trump societal norms and history. It's not easy, but as black folks, we can't let the past keep us bound by mindsets that prevent us from having fruitful relationships. That means we have our work to do, but it's necessary.

    • @ninagrace-lee8323
      @ninagrace-lee8323 11 месяцев назад +6

      I agree. It’s interesting bc we don’t have social scientists on the podcast to actually run through the numbers.
      As someone with a basic college degree, I have read enough to know the average black family is more likely to be egalitarian than the average white household. BW contribute financially and are not opposed to working - we have always worked. This idea that BW are soooo superficial and only care about money is absurd bc the data is not showing that. If we cared about money that much, we’d pick a different group of men to mate with. Clearly love is considered more important than prestige or finances.
      Atp I’m like, can you contextualize these talking points and fact check them? Making excuses for a community that is under educated and underemployed is not helping us.

    • @LoveCompassionPurity
      @LoveCompassionPurity 11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, we have always brought something financial to the table. However "eqaul" rights racially and the ability to get an higher education helped us become financial stable without the man. Before we needed that two income household to survive.

We are not open to be loved from a genuine place because we have bought into the notion that every man or women is the sum total of the person you were in a failed relationship with. No need to ask what the other brings to the table, because the issue is neither is coming to the table honestly. Who are you when the adjectives and titles are removed? I have been on a healing journey from my last relationship where my ex told me that "I changed." I've tried to understand how can a man who said he loved me, witness his significant other, of 2+ years, going through sickness which lead to financial insecurity and tell me that "I changed" and then break up with me. And it has really bothered me. Well, Mrs. Love. "Love starts with passion and continues with compassion." Thank you for this word which has added to my healing.

    Come on Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not even 15 minutes in and she's delivering a powerful message!! A message that I hope our men and women get!!! This is why we are losing or have lost so many generations!!! Nobody is teaching this stuff anymore! Everybody has turned a deaf ear to sound doctrine and solid food! Instead they want to be fed instant meals! Thx God there are still people standing in the gap! The world won't shift until everyone does their part & shift and stop going with every wind & new trend that is blowing or coming along. We all are guilty of it. ! Myself included! A'int no healing until we start kneeling! Periodt! Thanks Love! Thx LW for opening the door for God to timely usher this beautiful woman in to sit on this yellow couch! 🙏🙏🙏

    I have been waiting for this moment! I need Love on every platform and it is a beauty to see her on this one. Great show! What stood out to me is trying to have an adult relationship with my inner child. There's definitely I few things I'd like to focus on there. Like, saying "not this time," becoming disciplined in areas that will impact my future marriage and myself today, and saying yes to certain goals, showing up instead of hiding. This was a blessing.

    I am so glad I tuned into this conversation. It is so refreshing to actually hear a conversation where no blame is placed and no hate is spewed on any particular gender. We are all a mess and need to heal so we can lead with love and compassion....male and female alike. It is so hard to hear conversations nowadays that don't come from a place of hurt and pain. Instead of the red pill agenda and the boss "B" declarations, it warms my hear to hear people talking about how God is love and how we need to have love and compassion for one another. Well done and God Bless you both!!! 🥰

So much hurting women and men and persons with no empathy, compassion, EQ , no ability to communicate etc. I love that this is from a Christian perspective. I really do not like how divided we are...this toxic world culture has created division and chaos. Can we just get along...period! And such great points on dating... I am learning. Thanks for this conversation!!!

    I blamed my self for all the trauma from a very young age, most of my life. I felt so sad and for what my parents, sisters, friends, relationships, and family member experienced. I always tried to show them love when I didn't even know how to love myself and they would continue to hurt me. JESUS taught me how to remove them all from my life, loving them in my prayers for them. Healing is not easy. Today, I'm doing the best I can. For the first time this year I'm learning not to be hard on myself, speaking affirmations, accepting me for me, and embracing what I'm good at. I am very grateful and thankful for JESUS' LOVE, GOD'S GRACE because HE taught me through reading HIS word and others praying for me. Still to this day I am thankful I feel my😇Grandmothers prayers.

    Hey hey! I read an article the other day that backs up what she's saying. Of the African American couples, in the study, who had a successful marriage or relationships, it was found that when the members of the relationship understood that they would have to customize their relationship according NOT to society's standards but based on their personal realities, the marriage or relationships were successful. As a psychotherapist, I also agree, that many people are using spirituality as a guide to bypass the real core issues. She hit it on the head with that one. This was another great interview. Keep up the great work. - Dr. Renee

    I’m here watching again for the 2nd time and there probably will be a 3rd and 4th this was my FAVORITE EPISODE OUT OF ALL SEASONS!!!
    Definitely in my top 5
    Everything she said spoke directly to me especially the last part when you and her talked about your nephew/son on how he talks himself out of a project and then gets upset when he does not feel as successful as his peers. That’s hit me to the core, I am the same I have so many great ideas and projects I would like to accomplish it’s the fear of of starting and talking myself out of because I feel no one will listen or watch or buy.
    I am definitely going to purchase her books and join her FB groups to connect with her and others. I am watching again and taking my notes.
    I really Loved! Loved! Loved! This episode

I’ve always shared my failures because I believe people can learn just as much from a failure as they can from a success. My hope and prayer is that people can avoid the same mistakes I’ve personally made. But for the ones that have made the same ones that from my life they can see that God can give them Beaty for their ashes.

I used to know this intellectually and now I know it by experience. Get with someone you genuinely like and that you can have that compassion for when the stuff hits the fan.

    She spoke, preached, and taught the whole truth. Long lasting relationships are based on our hormones. I had to change what I put in my body because my levels where crazy. Meat made my estrogen levels very high and I was an emotional reck. My testosterone was off the chart and caused me to want to control. I couldn't control because I was looking to feel accepted and loved. Till this day I continue with therapy and healing because I want to be my best self for me, GOD, and my Kingdom marriage.
