    This is probably my favorite song they've put out since they released Define The Great Line honestly.

      It’s up there! I think the refreshing nature of this specific song, and it’s beautiful weirdness, makes it so easy to listen to over and over… still not bored!

    “No one can help me, every prayer is fake” That’s so deep and exactly how you feel when you lose a loved one.

    I want to comment on here to try to tie some stuff together that a lot of you guys might know but he may have not known when he listened to it. They allowed Tim to for the first time contribute to lyric writing. It’s a concept song about the death of his father. If you keep that in mind with the lyrics it’s definitely a journey. Super dark. Honestly as an ER doc who was in the ICU with Covid pneumonia patients the music and changes in tones and volumes are conveying to me a journey of death. The lyrics drive this home too. When the intermittent big guitar riffs come in and drop to stripped down drums I imagine someone getting cardioverted or defibrillated. Someone fighting for their life. It doesn’t hit me like my favorite Underoath stuff does but conceptually it’s pretty crazy to think about. The lyrics just reading and listening about “suffocating” and “fight til there’s nothing left” “skin and bones”. Pretty wild. RIP to Tim’s father. Not sure if it was Covid or not. But, it gives so much added depth to the song. This isn’t the only “correct” interpretation and can mean different things to everyone that’s the great part about music. But, I think with the background of Tim and his father you have to take that into consideration before listening.

    In my top three underoath songs for sure. Beautiful and powerful. Especially love the 2nd half.

    First time I heard this, I was kinda feeling the vibes at the beginning. When the first verse ended and there were those ominous keys, I thought it was gonna lead into a sick drop. It didn’t and I was extremely disappointed. Stopped listening like less than a minute after. Few weeks later, gave it another chance and forced myself to listen to the whole thing, and damn.. something just clicked. Not sure what it was, but this song is so beautiful and sad. Now I’ve got it on replay. Just goes to show sometimes you never truly hear the full capacity of a song the first time around. Focusing on the subject of the song also helped me really get into this the second time

    I agree about the 2nd part. I actually threw the song in GarageBand quick and cut the song so it transitions right from that dark droning synth into the 3rd part and it sounded better IMO.

    my little baby died from pneumonia. she is just 3 months old. it is already 4 years now. yet I still remember I walk to the hospital the night she died. the feeling I have is something cant be told. the second part of this song really hit me. it is the same melancholy feeling I feel over the years. the guitar sound feel so calm ..

    Erase Me was overly reliant on keys and loops. They said in an interview Tim didn’t put much effort into his guitar riffs at all so they worked around him. I gave up, rapture, wake me, no frame, it was basically an synth rock album with sprinkles of metal. This song is the right way to use keys in an Underoath song. Dark, ambient, accents the music. Beautiful.

    Writing On The Walls is the only Underoath song I really listened too. However this song is really cool and I love how atmospheric the sound is in this. If the overall sound of this album Voyeurist is like this then I'm all in!

    My complaint about this song is it constantly felt like it was building to something but never popped. Dont get me wrong, I will like this song in future listens NOW that I know what to expect. But for a first listen I was left wanting more.

      @larryisazombie6454 2 года назад +1

      @@ShibbyRL this song definitely grew on me. I appreciate it for what it is and don’t need the *pop* from it. A lot of times when bands we love release new music we incorporate too much of our expectations to appreciate what’s in front of us. Would a pop been cool? Yeah. But this song is fine as it is. Thanks for bringing me back to this comment!!
