Holy Moly the harmony from these legendary sisters, Ruth's voice is a gift from the gods. Nasty, sultry and sassy like funk ought to be. Most male singers would kill for resonance like hers. That 4 layered chorus at the end was a clinic in harmony.
As strong to listen to as I as a little teenager bought the album made by these amazing sisters - and so after the f-ing 40 years or so - there´s more than old blues guys.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. I HAVE THE STEPPIN OUT ALBUM BUT IT'S IN STORAGE. THE SONG I LOVE SO MUCH IS SAVE THE BONES FOR HENRY JONE'S BRING'S BACK A LOT OF FUN TIME'S......!!!!!!
My tail is between my legs. Tom Salisbury is on piano, not Leon Russell as I posted earlier. Tom also can be found on many other great recordings, Van Morrison's Saint Dominic's Preview, to name one. Sorry for any confusion my original post may have caused. Thanks for the corrections.
Leon Russell was a bad man. And you're right, he touched every damn good thing to come out for at least a decade or more. Folks don't realize how awesome that dude was.
@@tomspiano1 Forgive me Tom Salisbury. My apologies to you and other readers. Indeed, the piano credit (along with arranger credit) belongs to you assuming you are the same TS. I'm not sure where I got the idea about Leon Russell. I'm guessing I looked it up somehow online. I used to own this cut on the album "Steppin." But I regrettably let go of my vinyl collection years ago during a difficult move. I will update my comment.

Contralto eldest sister Ruth leading the eff outta this!!! Wish I wasn’t born in the 90’s so I could’ve experienced music like this live. 🔥
I just discovered this at 53 years old
I forgot how good this song was back in the 70’s
i just discovered it! they go in hard on this !
@@jonathanlewis3199 It’s a good song, yeah they did.
Nasty, grimey, low down, dirty & funky. Perfection. Ruth would sing lead on all their records if it were up to me.
Sheer brilliance!

Where'd you get that info? I think it's Tom Salisbury on this record. I love Leon, but can't find information about him being on this one.
Kim H the pianist on this track is Tom Saalisbury.

they more than deserve to be in the rock and roll hall of fame
Nicely nicely, many thanks for this - my own lp is tucked away....
Gold.
They did this song on Soul Train,,, never can find it on you tube.
Excellent tune, but can anyone tell me what it's about?
sex.
I've always felt it was about the fall of capitalism.
lol
@@veganfactor6795 not at all... this song can easily represent our current times, the days of late stage capitalism!!
thank you
