      It's playing right now. Why I looked her up. Never wanted to know the sad stories of her life years ago because it let her remain Gidget and innocent to me. I feel bad she struggled so much and died too young. She was adorable and beautiful at the same time. A great actress. She gave us wonderful films and memories. Miss her 💔

    There is so much sex abuse and I come from a town originally that is full of it. My heart goes out to what Sandra Dee and many others have been through. There is also alcoholism and drug addiction in my former town. Sandra even opened up about bolemia and anorexia which is all part of this sex abuse as well - not for everyone but for a lot of people. Sandra perished some years ago and she will always be my favorite. RIP Sandra.

    Too the TV!
    Sandra Dee left us too soon,
    I was a little girl when she began,
    Het career@
    I also remember when Bobby Darin, left us so young, Sandra
    Gave an Annoucment, of his
    Passing!
    "The Bobby DARIN SHOŴ"!
    Was a great hour music,
    We watched every week.
    When he said goodnight, he
    Turned around, and walked
    Away, and my tears just came,
    Down!
    He could sing a song😊 and
    His talent was truly missed!!
    He was 37 If I remember!
    Music was an important part,
    Of our family,as my late father
    Played professsionally in Detroit
    Etc
    This is one major wonder for the
    Internt, memories of all great Artist, music❤ Film, History

    I was in tears listening to Sandra & James say they both had a crush on each other back then and never knew. Is it just me or was he flirting with her during this interview?! Apparently he has been married to the same wife for over 65 years so I find that rather odd. They definitely had chemistry in Gidget.....she was so young then though. He did say he was divorced then, and both were shy.....who knows what could have been.

    • @christienelson1437
      @christienelson1437 4 года назад +4

      Yeah, that is confusing James seemed perfect for her. I heard that her mother said she was too young and wouldn’t let them date. James married Miss Denmark two years, after divorcing his first wife in 1968. Bobby was smarter he got her mother out of the way and swept Sandra off her feet. I’m sorry no one helped her or Bobby, they both had a lot of hardships. This video was cute.💕🎇🎆

      astromanism I agree. So many who gained fame, esp. at a young age like Sandra and Marilyn, ended up getting messed up by success. I think it's mainly due to a lack of proper guidance in their youth from parents or guardians.

      yes true. I think the only child actress that did very very well was Shirley Temple. She was really taken care of but she said that she made millions for the studios and when she got her trust fund there was only 40,000 dollars in it. Very sad. RIP Shirley you will be missed....

    She was a great actress, entertainer, and person. I hope she knew it. What ever she felt and experienced, I hope she was able to heal and be as well as possible before she left us. But you don't have to be a celebrity and over worked to go through and feel things that are very similar. Peace be with all people in this world who have or still are feeling and experiencing the same or similar things. Know that you are worthy and deserving and good enough exactly as you are.

    I just wanted to point out that both Bobby and Sandra hurt each other. He walked out on her several times without warning. He kept coming back to her after the divorce (even though he was involved with the woman who would briefly become his second wife, Andrea Yeager), and Sandra even suffered a miscarriage, and his reaction to that was what caused her to never allow him back into her life romantically again. But she never stopped loving him. Given her traumatic background and the issues that stemmed from it, it's hardly a surprise she could never live a normal life. Bobby of course, was in a rush to experience and achieve as much as he could due to his shortened life span. If you read their son's book, "Dream Lovers" you will get a much clearer picture of this volatile couple who loved one another deeply but couldn't live together.

      Nikki Livingston Yes, and I believe John Saxon felt the same way about Sandra, but Mary was always there. I think it's very sad that Sandra never experienced what normal teenagers do - dating, etc. I know Sandra loved Bobby dearly, but their relationship was volatile because they were both so troubled. I can't help but wish that she had been able to find love after Bobby.

    Sally Jesse's interview skills with Sandra Dee were terrible. She kept interrupting and wouldn't let Sandra finish a complete sentence. Anyone could see that Sandra was fragile and nervous and needed someone way more sensitive and skilled to help her through. Golden opportunity lost because of Sally's incompetence.

Please have hope and don't abuse your bodies with drugs and alcohol. The pain will always come back. Know you are good and beautiful enough just from you being you. We are all good enough by virtue of who we are unconditionally.

    I don't understand when she says that "when my mother found out, I took a blood test... because we were going to be married..." Something about Darrin renting a house and he says "to prove you love me" as the reason for her having to take a blood test???????

    • @stregadisalem732
      @stregadisalem732 9 лет назад +4

      I didn't get it either. She went from I was sitting on a couch at Bobby's sister's birthday party to Bobby rented a house to a blood test to coming home and finding her mother was gone and wouldn't talk to her and then she begged him to marry her?

    • @Laiconna
      @Laiconna 8 лет назад +4

      In those days, they always had to have a blood test before getting married because at one time, many sexually active people had STD's.

    • @mickmartin7009
      @mickmartin7009 7 лет назад +4

      @Joni.....the blood test had nothing to do with STD`s.....it was all about race-mixing.....the majority of states at that time prohibited inter-racial marriage.....eleven southern states made it a felony for race mixing untill 1976...

    This was sad and hard to watch. I couldn't follow her train of thought very well. Her memories took her all over the place. Sally had to bring her back a couple of times. It's obvious that Sandra's answers were not rehearsed and that this period of her life was not something she dwelt on. All the details were flooding back to her in an almost non-coherent fashion in front of the audience.

    Orange seems to be her favorite color. She wore that a lot in her movies, esp. in 'Gidget'. I love that movie. Sandy and James had great chemistry in it. How I wish they had made more movies together, esp. since she had a crush on him then. Her bubbly and perky blonde was a perfect match for his serious tall, dark and handsome young man.
