It is my Tribute to GREAT melodeath band KALMAH.
I put samples of the 14 KALMAH songs..
It was hard to decide which songs to put into the video.. Because of the limited video upload duration of RUclips, I could only cover some of the great songs, but I am planning to put the rest into my next Kalmah video..

lol i started to listen to amon amarth and i was like wow melodic death metal ftw then i heard these dudes and i was like FUCK THIS IS SWEEEET MAN THESE GUYS RULE!.
i was never interested in death metal songs but kalmah changed me and made me listen melodic death songs. And i think ALL songs by kalmah are the best.not just one unlike other bands....never heard such melodic songs before...kalmah ... u guys made me DIE hard fan ..seriously...
Amazing, absolutely one of the best melodeath metal bands ever!
Kalmah is great, but Insomnium is just one step better. Kalmah has great riffs and fantastic solo's while Insomnium has unbelievable atmospheric sound which fits perfectly with the lyrics they sing about. So for me, Insomnium > Kalmah.
i ussually listen to softer stuff than this lol but suprisingly this is now my 2nd favorite band n.1 is led zeppelin another band i cannot find a ba song in!
i once read a cool comment: "comparisons are for the weak, absorb the music as it is!"

KALMAH is very underrated, people should buy more their CDs, not just download.... :(

@IloveKalmah: They released a new album a half year ago. What shall they do? Every three month a new album? It takes a little bit time, to make masterpieces in THIS dimension. So patience!
Meldo-Death-Metal was invented for THIS band. SIX (!) albums can't lie. And there are still hungry... Kalmah ftw!

Although I prefer Kalmah, i still love children of bodom.
They are their own individual band with their own original music, and they werent inspired by any other band, and i respect them for that.
I agree with you about kalmah being an amazing band, but dont discredit bodom. I love all good melodeath, and you should too!!!XD
man i love you. You really know metal. and i apreciate the tributes you put up, it looks like it took you a lot of time. I think i have the same intense favor for kalmah and other melodeath bands. Kalmah is a hidden jewel. I never heard of them until i saw your tribute and literally said WOAH. lol. But im so glad they aren't mainstream. That can ruin a band. Anyway, Big thumbs up!!

Kalmah and COB aren't Melodic Death Metal. They're Melodic Power Metal guys :)

I don't honestly think there is the "best" band every band has a different sound its just opinion. I found tons of bands that are on par or even better than some of the extremely popular bands. I favourited most of them on my channel if you want to look. Just remember it's my opinion, i don't give a fuck if you agree or not. And if a band that you like isn't on there maybe it is because i havn't heard them? Link me to it so i can see for myself! (I would be more then happy to try out new bands)
The problem with your opinion is that you haven't heard Kalmah till recently. Listen to Kalmah for longer than this video's duration and you'll see why they are more enjoyable than all the songs you've listed. A 10 minutes video hardly does justices to the band's entire discography.
You could have chosen WAY better Children of Bodom and In Flames songs. Norther gets boring and Blood Stain Child is an interesting band, but hardly comparable to Kalmah.
Any doubt about it? of course Kalmah is the best Melodic Death Metal Band, just listen to their tabs, the lyrics, they're simply great, all their songs can be your favourite one, they're all outstanding, from the first time i heard them i just felt in love with their lyrics.
Kalmah is indeed one of the best melodic death metal bands out there today. I put them right up there with Norther, old In Flames (jester race), Dark Tranquility and At the Gates. Of course all of us are going to enjoy different music but we can all agree Kalmah is a great and very talented band!
death melodic trash metal for more precision they have a lot of trash metal influences in the rythm guitar, melodic for the keyboard and lead, and death for drum , bass, guitars, and voices. Kalmah fucking own
@oabbasi i dont understand why some kick ass bands produce 1 album and quit T_T just look for super mario castle theme death metal in youtube, its so fucking awesome, and the band isnt active
Kalmah seems ok. Bit too much screaming for me and too hard to understand. In my opinion In Flames are the best melo death metal and cant be beaten. Also one of the best metal bands
true, but the rythm guitarist of Kalmah says that they have trash influences. Maybe they were simply influenced by trash metal in their past when they were young.
Ok, try find a bad Kalmah song, i havent found one yet and i've been listening to these guys in almost 3 years!

ok,pretty good music here,but i get quite annoyed the fact that ppl actually insult other METAL bands around youtube,its tastes,and its metal,cant you(the flamers) actually find other genres to insult?like,i dunno,hip crap(just an example).i mean,if you like a band,good,now how about sticking it up your ass enjoy it and stfu. and if you still insult other metal bands,than u might wanna change your style of music to rap or something,to kiddy for metal(this comment isnt destined to the uploader).
I've got to agree with the beef dude. Kalmah does have a better, stronger sound than Ensiferum or Wintersun. Don't get me wrong, they are awesome bands and I really love them (saw Ensiferum on the Summer Slaughter Tour!!!) Wintersun is epic but a little too repetitive at times (can't wait for Time!!!) Kalmah just has more variety.
But for melodeath, my heart must go to Insomnium, though I must admit, only just...
But whatever! They're all awesome bands so shut up and fuckin' rock on!!!
i know all those bands exwept omnium gatherum.. but in factss .. go see on guitar hero wich chords and all things alexi use.. im sorry but this is what we call music.. this guy went to musical school and i think i believe more in someone like him than u.. im sorry but this sound really nice to ears and lots of people think the same. ure one of t he first who realyl hate cob that i see but.. i respect what u think.. u dont like that but. i can hear some classical riff in the first album try it ;)
It matters what people like, not which band is better.
I'm the first person to say bands suck and have no talent, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't listen to them if they like them.
Music should make you happy. If someone likes no-talent shit band, let them listen to it.
Nirvana isn't very complex music but I love listening to them.
Yngwie is phenomenal but I don't enjoy listening to a lot of his stuff.
Bands like Kalmah and Sonata Arctica are phenomenal AND i love listening to them.
COB is different now and for sure Kalmah fans will say COB sucks because of Blooddrunk which I found really nice, cause I just love their sound. But old Bodom is the best music ever ;) Kalmah comes in 2nd for me.
Best Kalmah solos are: The Blind Leader, They Will Return and Doubtful About It All.
Best Kalmah album(s): Swamplord, They Will Return, Swampsong, The Black Waltz and For The Revolution. Yes all Kalmah albums own ;)
I dunno,new in flames definitely kalmah kicks their ass. Old in flames is a whole other deal, they are have two completely different styles of melodic death metal. With in flames the rhythm usually consisted of both guitars harmonizing a lead melody throughout most of the song or it was one melody being backed up by a harmonized chord progression. Kalmah is more keyboard driven, and the guitars aren't as harmonized. a lot like At The Gates. Back in the 90s they were both the kings of melo death
The best current melodeth, idk, but for those (i.e. brake851 and many others) that may not have ever heard OLD In Flames or OLD At the Gate, should give them a listen. Old albums like Lunar Strain, Subterranean, The Jester's Race or The Red Sky is Ours, With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness, Terminal Spirit Diseases.
Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper from CoB are some of my favorite albums and I like CoB overall, but their album Blooddrunk just doesn't sound like the CoB I know and love...
Don't know how Norther will turn out, hope they adapt to their new singer well... you got to admit that he may not be petri, but he does have a damn powerful voice.
haven't heard much of it, but i do like it. some of the vocals in bands like this seems a bit off at moments, but im usually more in it for the instrumentals anyway.
not sure i would exactly go with kings of title, but there are a lot of bands that are on the same ground. hollow heart sounds like an amazing song.
Mate, Kalmah is band which doesn't have just few the best albums.. All Kalmah's albums are the best of the best! I've been Kalmah fan over 6months and still can't say which album is crappier than some other, becose all of them kickass seriously. :) Just pick them up randomly, they all are amazing. Keep supporting Swamp Metal ppl! \,,/

Well they are just all opinions anyway, besides The Black Dahlia Murder was the first real music i've ever listened to. I used to listen to shit like Megadeth, Overkill, Metallica, and that shit, but then someone told me about this shit and i was hooked, never looked back on those bands.
I say Bodom suck nowadays, but not because they get a lot of views. Iron Maiden gets a lot of views and it's still my favorite band. I say they suck because as Inearthed they made great music, afther that they made ok music, and then it all just got shitty, just like Kalmah's drummer.

i kinda agree, I thought bodom was the very best , but their latest album doesn't really work for me. It's good, but not like their previous albums but I understand they needed a change. Kalmah is awesome all way through! :D from swamplord to for the revolution
for years i thought Bodom was the best!! but Bodoms new stuff is starting to suck! Kalmah is staying strong!! i believe they are the best now without a question!!!!!!!! the only thing Bodom has over them is Alexi Laiho!!! he is the greatest but Kalmah is a better band!!!

all... kalmah is one of my favourite melodic band... yeah cob arrange everything to be loved now im agree.. but it trash a lot now .. i still like more first albums .... i listened only 2 time the new kalmah cd :S .. but its still kalmah lol

i dont get how you guys say you love Kalmah but hate COB. i think there both good... Kalmahs better. No i havent heard "new" COB yet. Norther and Mors Principium Est are also good bands to check out.

Yeah. In flames is good up until the newer albums. Thats why i seldom ever listen to in flames for long times in a row. remember the lyrics of december flower. just awesome ;D

well amon amarth and wintersun both play in different genres..tho amon amarth is mostly melodeath u can still here viking or grind and wintersun has elements of power or w/e as well
OMG you got to be kidding me, you all owe it to yourselves to look up a song by children of bodom called follow the reaper, they are 100 times better in my opinion.
I like Children of Bodom but this band is 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 times better
That's one thing I like about Insomnium though. They write it in a poetic way, not in a whiny, bitchy, pathetic emo way. Kalmah and Insomnium are Finland's greatest imo.

the vocals at the song "one from the stands" are very different from hollow heart.Can you guys sugest some songs which have one from the stands vocals like?
kalmah's melodys are pretty simple and not that good either, unlike In Flames's. and yeah, as i said i don't like the vocals.

Agreed. COB used to be good, like the albums Hatebreeder and FTR but then they sorta went to the shitter. They seem somewhat mainstream and shitty now.

Good songs and good effort, but Antti's solos are like half of the awesomeness of Kalmah so I would've put some of those in there too :)
pft wintersun is extreme power metal.. in order to be melodeath u must be death metal with melody (obviously) which wintersun is not

Bodom sound more industrial on AYDY and Bloodrunk but their earlier stuff like Something Wild are better with the keyboard.
They are different of another melodeath band and that is important. Great style. I´m looking forward to a new album

Great band!!!! Its hard to get sound separation when you are going that fast, but they manage to do it with ease.
