Broooooooo i’m SO jealous of all the newbies to Singapore who get to see this amazing video 🥺
This is such a great guide!! I was in your's shoes as well... Had to figure out everything myself! Thanks for making this!
Thanks for the information! Especially the Kopi-flavour distinction graph will save me a lot of time when ordering Kopi! Thanks, Sherry!
Omg this would’ve been super helpful when I first moved here! Thank you for ALWAYS creating such informational videos 🥰
Moving to SG in the fall for work, thanks for such an informative video!
This is Super Great Info! As a real estate agent, my clients are often clueless with what they need to prepare before moving here to work! Their HR never tells them the whole story. So I will definitely forward this my clients.
Great video. I visited Singapore in early 2020 and really enjoyed it. Safe, clean, predictable and all of that with super tasty food.
Great videos and it really helps other people who plans to move to Sing. Really love your videos. Thanks a lot!
Ooooft this video is EPIC. Thanks so much! Always love your advice and tips. Keep them coming 🥳
There are two things that are noticable about you, your beauty and your lovely smile. We can be friends right, wechat ?
Great tips! I wish knew this when I first moved to Singapore.
Great tips! Looking forward to use them soon!
Thank youuuu! And this is super helpful! Moving to Singapore in June and I only have a week to settle before starting mg néw job. Fingers crossed!

Thank you for the video! I will be relocating to Singapore early 2022. Glad to have stumbled upon your channel!
Wishing you a smooth relocation! I'm also doing a Q&A for the next 24 hours on my Instagram story. So if you have any specific questions, submit them there ☺️ instagram.com/sherrybyw I'll be answering them later today

Soooo helpful! Thanks Sherry 🙏
I’m going to start my work in Singapore in May. It’s very nice to see this! Notes taken😍😍😍
Wonderful information and fantastic video. Thankyou 🙏🏼
you always make the best tips videos! So comprehensive 😍
I'm glad you think so!!
Nice video and it’s very useful for expat. Just an add on to your DBS remittances point, they do have a SGD 3 service charge for remittances that is SGD 500 and below.
Thanks. Your info was super helpful. I moved here two months ago.
❤Your channel is literally my comfort place. You make me so happy. Love you❤
So helpful! I'm moving from Sydney to SG in Jan and the relocation todo list is insane. This is extremely appreciated!
It can totally be overwhelming! I hope this video helps and I’m wishing you a smooth relocation ☺️☺️
@@sherrybyw would be great if you could do a finance managing video. Basically breaking down how much cash you need on you when you touchdown in SG, how long it takes to set up a bank account and how long generally it takes for the funds to come through (inter. Transfer). Also when you may need a cheque ( I've heard this might be the only way to provide a security deposit) How much money you should budget for in the setting up phase etc. Thanks!
It would be SOOOO appreciated
This videos so helpful! Thanks for sharing!!
🦆❤️
dream of living there ever since I went there. thank you for the tips ❣️❣️❣️
I hope you can move here soon! 😁🇸🇬
Love your channel 💗 but can you make a video for moving as a student in Singapore (if you'd want to). What I have to do, what do I need and all that stuff. I'm planning to study in Singapore ☺️ thank you and stay safe and healthy!!
This is so helpfuuuuul ❤ i'm moving soon!
Cool, I am planing to visit Singapore soon
Great content. Thanks for giving Singapore so much positive feedback.
Hope all those that intend to move here to work and stay, will not keep their hopes too high. Singapore is a lovely country but there still many areas that need improvement. Especially the peoples.
End of the day, I am still proud to be a Singaporean.
Have u considered migrating?
@@simroysten7963 No. Friends and family here.
@@bentan6218 What do you mean by people?
Hi Sherry. I completly loved your video, very well structured and clear. I'm moving to Singapore in June for work i wolud like some guidance for my specific situation, i wanted to know if you could ive me some extra tips from the moment you get off the plane. I also don't have a temporary accommodation yet or address.
Great tips. Bookmarking in hope next year there is opportunity for an assignment....
On a side note, I'd like to add chum (or yin yang) to the kopi list. It's coffee / tea combined and is really good.
LOVE yin yang!!!
Thanks for the interesting video. Regarding the steps 3 & 4 you can speed-safe them by a WISE account in advance
Thank you again for the informative video Sherry! I actually have a question as I’m also planning to move from Canada to work in SG: as an expat, do you pay SG rate taxes or the Ontario rate in Canada?
Nice Info!
Lovely!
Great timing! I just moved here and I'm going tomorrow to MOM for my ID, but I was worried about the whole bank, internet, renting process. Thanks!
(Btw, as weird as it may sound, but I think I viewed an apartment exactly like yours this weekend 🤨)
Haha be sure to prep for that ID photo! Also, I do recommend checking out DBS if you're looking for a bank! Here: bit.ly/3DlmuTz I've personally been banking with them for almost 3 years and it's a go-to for many friends too! Hope all the other tips were helpful for utilities & apartment hunting!
Well I’m moving to SG next month from Australia and I can confirm this has been hella informative indeed.
I guess I’ll skip that 20 min walk too. No need to get sticky.
Just out of curiosity, did you apply for a job hiring in SG directly or was it an internal transfer? Because I am interested in expat opportunities in SG as well but most positions write that they prefer candidates who are already in SG because of the COVID situation.
@@pikachuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu internal transfer :)
@@onigirimerchant got it, thanks :)
I love Singapore. I wished that I can live and work there. But I feel it is so highly competitive and many smart people that it is just like HK. Besides the hot weather there. I love how clean and nice it is there. Singapore reminds me like 3 countries in one tiny island. While I was traveling solo there I attended the largest church there and was able to make some friends there. I met this girl that was going to church on a Sat afternoon I asked her if she knows where this church was located and directed me there. We worshipped and boy I can't believe how long the service is. It is 2 plus hours almost 3 hours long. The worship alone is 1 hour, the preaching is 1 hour. After that the girl introduced me to her friends at their fellowship. We had dinner and showed me some downtown areas. I felt like a dumb average person. They are so smart. They all worked in financial areas that is over my head. I am in IT but I tried to keep the conservation going. Their English is somewhat difficult to understand. They were speaking to one another and I asked what language they were speaking and they said English and I can't even hear it. Well I had to be more talkative to get over my shyness as I am very quiet. I am very shy to meet people so I have to force myself to talk to strangers. Each country I traveled to HK and Thailand I tried to make new friends. It is nice to travel solo as I don't need to wait for the other person vice versa.
For the tourist SIM card, the purpose of the foreign passport is to basically get some basic information registered as all prepaid sim cards in singapore need to be registered to a person (To prevent abuse and potential use case for terrorism). Singaporeans can also get tourist SIM which I did when I in between of 2 different telco and was missing out on fibre connection.
This is super good to know! I can imagine the tourist SIM card being extremely useful when switching telcos. Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Sherry. We relocated to Singapore around same time and I’ve been following you ever since you popped on my recommendations. Random question is do you know of any other RUclipsrs that provide similar content for HK? I’ve come across a recent job opportunity that will require me to relocate there and would so love if there was someone out there producing a similar Sherry style video on “moving to HK”.
broadband - i was a bit shocked to learn about the activation and installation charges , together about SGD 130
Bank account - for people transfer in under the employment of MNC, can simply request a letter from HR before getting EP card / SingPass.
Thank you sherry!
Thanks for watching!!
Love youuu Sherry 😅
I am Singaporean, been living in canada for 9 years and am moving back to Singapore in 2022, as a Singaporean moving back, this is SUCH a great helpful video 😂😂
This is music to my ears 😍 🎶
Singpass part - heard u have to have an residential address, which some people who transfer in, and stays in serv apt/ hotel. Its gonna take another month or so to get.
NIce. But can you change the background music on your appartment search please? It felt like a combination of a visit to the dentist waiting room and a horror movie ... something lighter perhaps?
It’s a very informative video and helpful. Thanks .
What would you recommend for children when they drive by bus or MRT and they don’t have a credit card
Depending on how old the child is, I believe there’s a child concession card (which allows them to travel for free) 😊 Otherwise, you can still use an EZ link card (the one I mentioned where you can load up the card and use it like any other metro card)
YESSSSS wish I knew about all these things when I first came to Singapore WHERE WERE YOU THEN
HAHAHA I AM HERE NOW 😌
Hi my name is Saloni, I am currently studying MBA in Singapore which I am soon to complete I have a past record in Sales & marketing! Kindly let me know if any of your companies wanting to hire a sales or marketing associate that would be so much helpful please
Thanks
Should I book my appointment with the MoM on my first day to get my employment pass? Or can you just turn up? Cheers! This is really useful I’m getting there on 13 December!
Transferring driver license would also be helpful.
You can maybe recommend some nice coffee shops too!
I had DBS and then opened another with OCBC. DBS is too popular and their ATMs often have longer queues 😂
sherry, can I ask you what motivates you to work hard at your jobs? how do you deal with all the stress from work?
Hi for the simncard if going to work in sg, you would recommend us to buy a travel sim and use for long time until work+? Or just travel for travel sim
wish u had made this vid 2 month ago, i had been thru all these myself.
thought EP card gotta be sent to office address. Any EP holder having an issue date printed differently between the card and the doc ?
Loved loved video but love SINGAPORE
🇸🇬🙌🏻
Having been in Singapore a couple times, I noticed there are some Canadian banks there. Do they offer Singaporean accounts?
Sherry, I am also in Canada. Did you change your citizenship? Or what kind of visa did you get and how long does it last?
Looking for condos near Solaris or Queenstown. Coming there in June end.
Can you get a singpass as a traveller/tourist ? Cheers
you can use apple pay to tap in and out of public transport, no need to take out your debit card
Good shout! 🌟
I can’t believe it’s already been 3 years since you’ve moved to Singapore. Seems like yesterday 😅
Omg time flies right?! Thanks for sticking by for the last few years 🥰
😊
What work permit do you use?
Sherry can you speak faster 🤠🤓 new sub is there such a long term low budget accommodation in Singapore, if can make video accommodation prices would be helpful thanks in advance.
Is identity theft a concern with the Singpass?
Do u need to have vaccination to work there?
Hi Sherry….How have you been?
In your opinion, what’s the “average” salary to have a comfortable life in Singapore? I mean, SGD 10k, 13k monthly…Do you think that’s a good average for a single person?
P.s Your videos are flawless!
😘
Great video, one thing which you didn't talk about was getting a car which is normally one of the first items on someone's list when moving to a new country. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Good point :) I didn't list it mostly because I don't have a car and don't have any plans to buy one here, so I can't speak from experience haha.
Owning and maintaining a car in Singapore is just astronomically expensive (relative to owning the same car in a different country for example). That's why I focussed more on public transport and car-hailing as an option!
@@sherrybyw Thanks for the reply! :)
😮

You’re Canadian?
👍✅🤓✅👍
oh shit. im a singaporean and i didnt know singpass stands for singapore personal access HAHAA
Honestly...I needed to do that research before filming this video too 😂😂😂 I learn new things when I film these videos haha
