True but there is also one other things. Creators of "Allo, Allo!: are responsible for a few other shows that are currently considered to be classics. However still none of them got any close in their culture status to "Allo, Allo!" which makes this show even more unique.
Took me some time but I now have all episodes downloaded. And I'm watching them all again. This show is a lot better then 95% of current shows on TV these days.
I don’t care what people say, WE LOVED THIS SHOW IN AMERICA ! Not offended at all since the last laugh is on us as we are the ones that ended that nightmare, my Grandfather was over there as a combat engineer and lived to come home and tell us about it as children

What i would give to mention at least one actor from the show.this was my favourite comedy in childhood and now when I'm almost 40 I struggle to find anything that comes close to this. I wS devastated when Gordon (Rene) and I have never ever seen him in anything else than allo allo
