i really feel like i hear a high G at the end there, but like, crown does not usually do that... if that really is an overtone then god damn WHAT?!? also my ears say the mello parts on the last chord are A and C but idk
Their brass was still good but they didn't get that 20/20. They got a Brass score of 19.8. Crown 13 will always go down as one of the most perfect hornlines.
01 ta 04 Cavaliers was this clean.. 04 bd was this clean.. star 91 ...phantom 96 and 08 ... I think the background issue missing is the brass arranger writing a solid hit of a show.. cause that can impact everything before a single note is played.. and set a floor or ceiling as to where the group could be in August
I wonder if he understood at the time, that he and his players were creating perhaps the finest rendition of this song in history?
not perhaps, without a doubt the finest
He has been around along time he knew this was something special. Perfection does not exist but this was just amazing arranging and performing
@@jakemf1 Of course he did. His standards of excellence are unmatched.
Hyperbole. It's what's for dinner.
Thanks for the creds! Love the transcription.
@@MrXtuba Of course. Thanks for recording the video in the first place! lol

I hear it too, you're not crazy
I hear it now. Crazy. Its all overtones
That’s crazy how loud it is.. and how high
literal chills
Dude its so in tune that i can hear a high G overtone
Coool!
at the beginning until 0:52 the mellos note should be a G on the transcription and not a C.
when in the season was this
Early Season. The original video was posted on July 1st. Very early on
What about crown 14'?

@@oolexplayz fair. My hot take is that crown 14' was the perfect horn line. Simply because of the complexity of what they played.
@@woodDCI I get it. 13' was a pretty simple book. But the way they played the book was just without any mistakes and insanely clean.
@@oolexplayzYes, thus Crown 14 with its 19.8 must also be said to be one of the most perfect hornlines.
Perhaps simple compared to their 2014 book, but still extremely challenging music and executed to perfection, like you said.

02 Cavaliers and 14 BD I can agree with. Everyone else, lol no.
The only perfect brass score in DCI history (as far as I know the only perfect score in any caption in DCI history)
Quite a few have obtained a perfect score in different caption. But not brass. Only crown 13
@@oolexplayz Ok, thank you, that’s good to know!
@@oolexplayz 2004 Blue Devils had a 20 in brass on Prelims night. 2013 Crown is the only 20 ... on Finals night.
Cadets 87 had a perfect percussion score
Blue Devils 2014, right after this. Got perfect scores across the board in visual and another thing I forgot what
Mellos are playing g in the very beginning when everyone else plays f
