Ock is more musical, Flayon is more about voice acting. But since we're talking conversational tones here, yeah, it's gonna be a challenge to distinguish the two.

We already got a pair in JP in the form of Roberu and Gamma, but on the other hand, we seem to have only two pairs of these voice doppelgangers in the Stars so far. Anyway, I imagine we're most likely to be reminded about all this when we hear them in collaborations. XD

Nah nah, Flayon sounds pastel and Octavio sounds brightly colored
it's just you jurard~ 😂 they may sound the same sometime, but flayon and octavio has different mannerism in the way they talk. that can help distinguish their voices. 🥰
flayon has between soft and maniac (depends), expressive way of talking. octavio has this bright and have tendency to laugh cutely sometimes. 🤭
*just my personal observation so far. might be right migh be wrong.
Reading how you described their voices got me remembering how I thought of a kids' show host and a theme park public announcer when I first heard Octavio's voice. And even after hearing him go wilder with his voice, I still can't shake those impressions off my mind. As for Flayon, remembering what I've heard from his voice so far, I think of him as a shounen anime character and a seinen anime character. Doesn't matter whether the character is a protagonist or an antagonist or a support or even an extra.
But they sound totally different??? Jurard must need to go through life with subtitles
Maybe I'm the only one who realized too late, that the voices on Hololive/star are almost the same from one member to another. It's a shame that I only realized this after streaming them.
