What are these leaders doing to protect the victims of this criminality, who in the majority, are also members of the same community? Mr Abbey has straw-manned the whole issue. Don’t blame the police, blame the parenting……no black person ever got shot for complying with police. @OXD_17 No, actually, that was a decent point. Perhaps counter it with something smart and productive rather than adding 'you bored' and then adding an emoji like you're a twelve year old girl or something.
"no black person ever got shot for complying with police" is factually inaccurate. Comply or don't comply, the chances of being tasered, shot, beaten/restrained, charged/arrested or sectioned by police are vastly higher for people of colour than anybody else, both in the UK and US, despite being a national minority. It's OK if you don't understand or agree with the underlying issues being discussed, but spreading misinformation is harmful.
They refuse to release the statistics but we can guarantee it's going to be just like the statistics of everywhere else in the West. Barbaric cultures imported into civilised ones tend to breed criminality
The argument that Kaba might have acted on instinct on the spur of the moment is crazy. When someone shouts "armed police put your hands up" the instinct is to put your hands up. End of.
Another apologist for black failings, Kaba was a career criminal, Nels Abbey, needs to gather a grip of his reality about Kaba’s past. Thank god for sensible members of the jury.
A career criminal who was a member of a county lines drug peddling street gang was driving a car linked to firearm offences, resisted arrest, led the police on a dangerous chase through the streets, rammed parked cars and attempted to run over multiple officers. It's not that difficult to understand, the vast majority of the British public agree with this verdict and are more annoyed this even made it to court and wasted taxpayer's money.
He's not telling the whole truth. He should give the full details and allow researchers to dig. If you're dragged out of a car and thrown on the ground, everyone in the car. But the time it's all over you know exactly why it happened. He's making out the cops just went quiet and wandered off without explanation. I used to get stopped by the police multiple times a week. I was innocent but I lived in a rough area and rode a moped. They would regularly stop me, stretch or just check the bike over and give me a "7 day wonder" -document producer at a local police station. When I would then have to go to that police station and wait for them to write up the same documents I brought in the week before. Sometimes I would have 3 of these tickets given within 7 days and the poor desk officer would have to write all the document details 3 times. I was innocent every time. Just a young guy riding a legal moped completely legally. Makes you wonder why the police were told to focus on legal youngsters on mopeds which didn't have any red flags on the system. So I too wondered why I was always being stopped. It happened to him once and he thinks it's colour. It happened to me every few days for a year or two. What was that?
This man is trying to defend a violent criminal. Surely the responsibility is on Kaba’s shoulders so if he chose not to comply with the police’s request then that’s his fate. What other choice did the police have?
At this stage I don't want to hear about the trauma of young black men getting stopped by the police. I would, however, love to hear about the trauma of police officers who end up being prosecuted senselessly simply for doing their job.
@@prometheus23c 👍🏻 Also the trauma that officers face on an daily basis. There are bad officers, just like bad people in every single walk of life. My thoughts are it seems to be ingrained in society to hate the Police no matter what they do. I do know there are thousands and thousands of officers who put their lives on the line. The family of Kaba should look inwards and reflect on what influence, or lack of influence they had on the path he took.
Read the comments on every video about Kaba. We ALL support the policeman, nobody is defending Kabas actions, so why do we give ppl who do defend him air time. Its not representative of the ppl.
How about discussing the death of Peter Lynch in prison ? 61 years old with no known criminal record locked up for years for shouting and holding a sign.
It's interesting how this is being portrayed as an innocent victim killed solely because of his race. We all saw the footage of him casually entering a crowded nightclub, firing shots as if he were in a film, with no regard for the lives at risk. Imagine walking past the venue or working there-your life could have been irrevocably changed by a stray bullet. Yet, they still wanted a fair decision because they concealed his criminal history from the jury because they didn't want to influence jury's mind. The reality is that Chris Kaba was far from innocent.
I cant believe what this man is saying. How can he expect the police protect the public when they aren't aloud to do their job. Shame on all people protecting these people
As soon as the guest said he was the subject of a police hard stop and treated incredibly badly as a student, he lost all credibility as someone whose opinion was going to be nothing but biased.
He was using the car as a weapon against police and it was reasonable for the police to believe there was a firearm in the car, so it was reasonable for police to believe bullets were about to come of the car. Sometimes you only get one split-second chance to save your own and the life of another. It's a very sad end to a young life, but police cannot be at fault for protecting themselves against possible death.
I don’t think this has anything to do weather he was a black man or a white man, he was shot because he posed great danger to officers and was clearly being aggressive towards police and not intending to stop.
Uk Street culture is influenced by yardie culture from Kingston Jamaica. This ghetto culture should not be seen as the way black culture is and how all black people carry themselves. It’s negative and it’s breaking lives, hearts, families and children. We as a people need to stand up against it and take responsibility.
He ran around with a gun shooting at people , the car he drove was used with shots being fired outside a school. He needed to be taken into custody and he tried to ram his way through a hard stop....he was a danger then to the Police and the Police knew he was a danger...he lived by the sword and died by it.
This shouldn't even be a discussion, when armed police show up in numbers. Stopping a car thats known to them, you stop. No, guy tried to drive off with force. He was known to be violent in the passed. All cause he's black, the card gets waved around and questioned an armed officer whos specially trained in these sort of scenarios.
I fully agree. But, it's good to remember that there are also several cases where biased has been acted on. And it's that, that always creeps it's head intimidating situations like this
This guy is completely deluded. He was a gang member that was involved in shootings, drug deals, stabbings, violent behaviour, robberies and much more. He's not just a guy who was driving down the street or somebody pulled over for speeding that got shot. He was a known, very active gang member that was threatening police officer's lives in that moment. If you live by the sword, you die by the sword. That's the lesson. Why was this guy shooting people and using vulnerable people to sell drugs? Why wasn't be an author and broadcaster like this guy? Why did he choose drill rap and roadman culture? He seems like a very well spoken and successful black man, why isn't he asking the question why other men like him are not taking the same path?
9:08 when he’s going on about “did the police make Kaba panic” - it is absolutely ridiculous. The police have a job to do. That does not include treating criminals with kid gloves. Kaba was dangerous. A hard stop was justified. Should they have let him get away and go on to commit more crimes or evade justice altogether? Kaba was a violent man, no one in their right mind would treat such a person with anything other than force. He needed to be stopped, he had endangered countless people’s lives in that nightclub and on the street, and was endangering police officers’ lives. Reality check: this is what happens. Stop whining and making it into something it is not.
This man is clearly a liar. I don’t believe he was part of a hard stop, and if he was I can bet there was a good reason for it relating to some of the individuals he was with in the car, if not him.

I have been living in Britain for the past five years, and no police have stopped me illegally. Whenever I see a police officer, I see them with a smiling face. I completely disagree with the racism narrative.
You do not understand the history of racism in the country. You can easily look up cases like Stephen Lawrence, the Guildford Four, the Tottenham Three, etc and others to find out the history of racism within the British police force. You have only been here five years so you can’t know what black people have suffered over the decades leading up to now. That kind of memory does not leave people easily.
@@jujutrini8412 I used to live in Finland, where racism is very prevalent. My wife and I were once spat at, and we frequently heard the phrase “satana,” which means “satan.” It’s a stark contrast to Britain, which feels like a friendly and welcoming society. In this case if he had complained to the police, I doubt it would have escalated this far.
@@johntilton I know non white people in this country who have had racist graffiti scrawled on their door, who have had dog faeces put through their letterbox because of their race, who have been shouted at in the street with racist slurs, who have been thrown in the back of a police van, called all kinds of racist names and beaten up then dropped off far from home with no mention of a crime having ever been committed, who have been lied about in court (using false quotes and language that they thought a Jamaican person would use even though the person wasn’t even Jamaican!) by the police and the judge even telling the police they know they are lying so the case being thrown out, I could go on and on. Racism exists in the police force in this country as well as in society. If you want to ignore it that is entirely up to you. I am in no way saying that this country is the most racist country on earth. I know it isn’t. But not being the most racist country does not mean it is not racist. Racism does not have to be straight to your face name calling either. The racism that people faced in the fifties, sixties and seventies etc is in no way like it is now. Things have improved a great deal since then but racism has not completely disappeared and it still affects people’s lives. However, the windrush scandal only happened very recently and I know people who were deported from their own country, where they are legal citizens, simply because of their race.
How is the system broken? If you are told to get out of the car x100 by ARMED police and refuse to do so then I m sorry to say you deserve to be stopped by what means possible.

the gentleman speaking about it being highly confusing is not really taking into account that Kaba absolutely would NOT have been "confused" about why police were surrounding him, since he was a wanted criminal for shooting the night before (as opposed to the innocent man speaking who would understandably have been under extreme confusion and fear)
And, SURPRISE SURPRISE....His previous criminal history has JUST been released. He SHOT a guy in a nightclub in his legs and has loads of previous. But this poor innocent black guy was the victim. Dunno how his family have the neck, i really don't.
My thoughts are with the Officer who was trying to protect the public from a known career criminal /person who actively used firearms in public places.
Why do people always hint at racism when a black man is shot by a police officer? No one mentions the families Chris saddened, the number of victims he has in his records, I blame the justice system and police for the fact that we have a man like this on our streets. I am also a black man, never I have been stop n searched by the police, if it ever happened I would have stopped and let them do their job. The way the media is portraying this event is startling.
I think the apologist is correct, really what should have been done is the police could have sent Chris kaba an email or text saying hi Chris we have information your driving a car that was used in a shooting less than 24 hours ago and what with Ur horrific criminal record we would like to ask if you could pop down the the police station when your free so we can search you and make sure your not carrying a firearm thanks a lot ! You don't fire a warning shot or shoot out the tyres of a vehicle with a firearms marker on it. You give the target the opportunity to comply and then neutralise it. These are policies being followed to the letter by the officer. That he ended up in a dock is shameful.
The guy doesnt have a clue what he is talking about and shooting out the tires would not stop the car and does not eliminate the threat of the driver. Also shots into the tires would produce ricochets.

"no black person ever got shot for complying with police" is factually inaccurate.

The family of Kaba should look inwards and reflect on what influence, or lack of influence they had on the path he took.
What trauma when they are generally let off. Did anyone go to prison for jean Charles Menendez

Exactly.
Why don’t you talk about his previous convictions?
