If I was as sick as I am now, I wouldn’t have kids. I can barely get up in the morning now. But both my kids are special needs so it’s a lot among other things. I love them a lot tho

Great video! I'll also add this for anyone watching: consider your energy levels/ability to do things and how it'll affect your child's quality of life as well. I have one kid and his dad is healthy so he gets to go to fun places and do fun things with him, but with me he's mostly at home unfortunately. Squatting, bending, walking a lot, etc. is hard for me and that affects him of course because he wants to go for walks, jump on the trampoline, etc. so we mostly do sedentary activities.

So true! I have so much more to say about tips for parents. But I have family members (my husband, grandparents etc) take my kids out to big activities I can't handle. 😊

I just wanted to tell you that yesterday I was diagnosed with hyper mobile EDS and am being tested for small fiber neuropathy today. Your EDS criteria video was helpful and really motivated and guided me on getting a diagnosis. I went to a new neurologist who originally worked for Mayo Clinic and he had no issue diagnosing me. He also is going to try to help me with my ME/CFS which is amazing!
I always wanted kids but I’m not sure now. Babies bring me so much joy and really cheer me up. I feel so peaceful when I hold them and care for them. My younger siblings always motivate me and cheer me up more than anything else.❤ Great video as always.❤

      Yay for a diagnosis!!!! 🎉
Keep me updated on how your eds journey goes. You are amazing! If having kids is right for you, you'll find a way to do it. 😊

Just because we’re ill doesn’t mean we can’t be a good parent. We just have to work at it differently. Go with what you feel deep down and listen to your body when it says no or no more. Everyone ill or not has to make this decision to have kids or not so being ill and thinking this is normal. Who’s to say we would have done it differently if not ill.

Thank you for sharing this Aimee! It’s really helpful. I have one son (who was a surprise!) and my chronic illness journey has been really rocky this past year. My husband and I really want another but I just don’t know if I can do it, considering I feel like I can barely take care of my one child with my illnesses. But your story is really inspiring and makes me think maybe I can do 2, if you can do 3! Lol.

If you decide that it's right for your family, you can do it! 😊 It will be hard but if its what you want and feel is the best decision for your family... It will be worth all the hard!
      I didn't think I could handle 3 but I'm doing it!! And I looooove it! 😊

I lost a baby under very untoward circumstances as a teenager and I grieve that not having kids now. But now I don’t think I’d be able to because I struggle sometimes to look after my quite self sufficient cat! BUT I also think, if any of my friends died and had decided to give me the gift and honour of finishing raising their children, I would do it wholeheartedly and I could make it work. So I’m not seeking out children (and I’m not married so for me that’s a no go) but if God bought kids or people to care for across my path another way, I would trust that.

It's a personal choice. Would I want to do it? No. Im 50 and we had one son he's 31. He's mentally ill and doesn't want kids. I'm ok with that. Blessings 💞

I never had kids due to my mental illnesses. It was the right choice for me.

I wasn’t aware of my chronic illness until after I had children. I think I always had them but not bad enough to seek diagnoses. If I had known, I probably my would have chosen to maybe just have one child instead of three.
