Lassi is a popular drink in the north. Plain lassi is made with yogurt and sugar with crushed ice and a few drops if rose water. To make this sweet version, I use mango pulp sold at Indian or Hispanic grocery stores and yogurt without stabilizers from health food stores. 1/2 cup mango pulp 2 cups plain yogurt 1 cup water 2 tablespoons sugar In a blender combine mango pulp, yogurt, water, and sugar and blend for 30 seconds until well blended and slightly foamy.
Hi, today I'm going to teach you how to make a mango lassi. Lassis are a refreshing Indian drink made with yogurt. They're a mixture of yogurt and fruit or yogurt and salt. Today we're going to make a sweet one, a sweet mango one. We're going to add two cups of plain yogurt and we're going to add half a cup of mango pulp. Now, there's different kinds of mango pulp you can find at an Indian grocery store. There's alphonso mangos and kesar mangos, just different varieties of the fruit. I prefer alphonso mango. It's got a very rich, full, lovely balanced flavor so if you can find that I highly recommend it.
I'm adding two tablespoons of sugar. You can sweeten it to taste. Actually, I'll put in a little extra. It's up to you. I like it a little bit sweet. And I'm going to add some water and this also is variable depending on what consistency you like. And we're just going to mix this up until it gets really nice and frothy.
Okay. This looks like a nice consistency and I'm going to pour it over ice so it's nice and cold. This tastes great on a hot Indian afternoon. And I'm going to garnish it with just a little sprig of mint and there is your mango lassi. Yummy. - Хобби
The first time I drank mango lassi I got addicted and this Indian restaurant makes it now it is my favorite 🍺
My grandma makes it a lot. Its the best.
Same. Indian cuisine is the best. Prices are beyond reasonable.
Not bad for a basic lassi, a couple of nice touches that were shown to me by an Indian Restaurant chef are: a teaspoon of rose water per serve and the seeds of two green cardmoms well ground in a mortar and pestle. Put those ingredients into the blender, not the glasses of course.
Bribie12 oh lord
rose water ^ or ^ cardamom
woudn't want to mix those two

ohhhh!! When I drank mango lassi that became my new favourite drink ever since nothing like fizzy is better then mango lassi.
the concept of smoothie had come out recently while indians have been making lassi since ages!!!

thank you. I never use water in my lassi, I use more yogurt or add a little milk, but never water...and adding ice to the blender will thicken it up or use frozen mangos instead of the canned fruit. It's not processed like the canned stuff.

Milk lassi is disgusting AF!
Never add milk to curd. Not good for gut. I know this comment is really old, but I think there's still people visiting.

with fresh mango it will be better!
Yh but the Pakistani ones normally mango is not sweet
Yup I agree
I tried fresh-not really-prefer caned
Reason they choose cans is because that type of mango is not available fresh around the world.

The lassi that i drank the other day from a Indian restaurant tasted exactly like Mango Sago.
YUM i can’t wait to try this
Delicious; thank you 😊
It’s perfect thank you
I love mango lassi, however I think I'll use either Agave nectar or Stevia, in place of the sugar. Great video, by the way
I love mango lassi and Indian food 🥘😋
just ordered it from the Indian restaurant near me holy shit its so good
It was ab amazing dish and a very refreshing one too..One of the best shakes of all time..

Nice and yummy mango lassi!
I made a tropical one it was so good 😋
Mango pulp is really good to use
Thank you! 😊
Thank you nice voidio

So easy
I use 1 cup Mango (chopped, ripe, frozen, or canned... whatever is available), 1 cup plain Yogurt, ½ cup milk, and 4 teaspoons of honey. Then I add cinnamon and cardamom. I never thought to use water. I may try that.
Someone mentioned using ice cream. That's rather radical.
It tastes really nice and is a good vegan alternative to use coconut cream icecream/ frozen yougurt.
Yummy yummy yummy
If u sort of looked at her face after drinking the lassi it looked like she was faking
mhm
@chetan singh Not exactly true. I don't like plain yogurt much but I love lassi. The churning process makes it delicous.
@@hj2479 saammemee
@@fatass1 I also prefer milk instead of water because it helps keep the creamy taste intact. I'm not a fan of watery lassi and treat more like a milkshake.
I tried the recipe and it was the best mango lassi I ever had.
We enjoyed your mango lassi
She looks so so so happy to taste it .......lol
It’s the reaction of a normaL, honest person. Most of the videos, cooks and chefs fake it to make their product look heavenly, whether it is or it’s not.
I want this on a Mexican afternoon
It taste good I make it at home
when you blend it; is it then that you choose it whether to be really thick or light; i love them to be thick!
U can get the best lassi only in india 🤩
I always use kasar mango pulp
Every time I go to an Indian restaurant, if they have it, I order it

My 4yo is obsessed with mango lassi thanks to Mira Royal Detective. Never realized how easy they are to make
You can do it even easier with frozen fruit from the grocery store. The yogurt and bag of fruit together cost like $8 and you can make about 6 or 7 glasses
If you add milk instead of water it will be way thicker and delicious (but do not add milk cream)
Which kind of yogurt home make yogurt or ?
Please
Yummm !! :-)
But I don't know if it fresh or not

could I just puree mango, would that be a good substitute or "mango pulp"?
It's going to taste great on a 40° night in Philadelphia.
How long can keep mango Lassi be in the fridge
hope you learned your gonna make me some lol
Can you use almond milk instead?

Niina S.K its amazing . Fresh mango would be great .
:D Gonna try it with fresh mango :D
Fresh mango is ideal not mango purée but purée is to give it that kick and sweetness
What is the life time for this lassi or how long I can keep that in the fridge?
I am sure if you freeze it in a bottle you can keep it for a quiet long time perhaps 4 Weeks ? It only takes about 5 minutes to make.
How the he$$ can you not drink it all up at once?
I was just playing and added milk to ice cream vanilla then it tasted like lassi
What’s the lady in the back cooking?
Such a nice looking lady and a very delicious drink
Tf bro..
oh god, I was about to add the whole amount of yogurt but holy jesus, I only added like a 1 cup mango to 2 cup yogurt ratio and it was already pretty damn weak. Granted I was using greek yogurt but still. I had to add a significant amount of honey. adding cardamom really helped though I added nutmeg for some god awful reason tho. It didn't ruin it but it really didn't help the flavor.
Thank you... The ratio did give me the impression that it would be weak. I think I'll try it one to one to start (with extra mango on deck, jic). Now, to check into pre-ground cardamom. 😊
I use 1 cup Mango (chopped, ripe, frozen, or canned... whatever is available), 1 cup plain Yogurt, ½ cup milk, and 4 teaspoons of honey. Then I add cinnamon and cardamom. I never thought to use water. I may try that.
does anyone know the ratio of canned mango to fresh? i imagine the canned mango is more concentrated.
Nah, the canned mango is already sweetened. 95% mango pulp and 5% sugar syrup with the cans i use. (Kesar and Alphonso)
Just try out for your liking. If you have the real sweet fresh mangos, just put in more mangos. And depending on what type of yoghurt you're using ie. the more sour type of yoghurt or the more plain, like greek yoghurt. Try to use the full fat yoghurt for the rich and creamy texture.
Yum I speak pakistaini
I prefer to use frozen mangoes and dates instead of sugar!
Yogurt + mango puree + vanilla ice-cream ; much better recipe
Ice cream? I have to try that. Sounds wonderful.
I use 1 cup Mango (chopped, ripe, frozen, or canned... whatever is available), 1 cup plain Yogurt, ½ cup milk, and 4 teaspoons of honey. Then I add cinnamon and cardamom.
Maybe instead of the honey and milk, I'll use ice cream.

Where's the spices?? Like cinnamon?
If it was really like the Indian restaurant when you make it at home. American yogurt has never worked for mango lassi
She should add ice blending..

I love you

It should have cardamom and it is better to make it with fresh mango.
💖😋👍😍👌👪🤩
Mango pulp? 😮
Fresh mango and honey and cardamom.
Lassi are sweet only not salty
It would be better if the title said Punjabi instead of Indian. Since Punjabi also represents Pakistan as well. It is not only made in India, it is also made in Pakistan.
No spice? Cardamom. Ginger?
lol
Haha
Not done right. You can’t make a lassi in blender.... lassi is made without broken down yogurt .
Nice camera shot of the pour.... complete fail.
Mango doesn’t grow in cans. Tasted better with fresh mango.
It doesn't? 🤔
You're one genius Doctor No Effects.
Can you imagine that in some countries. ie. the Netherlands. Sweet pakistani or Indian mangos are very hard to come by. Especially out of the season.
And when you find them. They get sold within a day. And they turn bad within a couple of days.
Yes, preferably i like to use the real sweet mangos without adding extra coconut sugar or honey. But the cans can be bought whole year round.
Its So Easy to Make but Im Too lazy To make
We made this for a mostly Pakistani and Indian gathering and nobody liked it. Like they didn't finish their cups of it (threw it away) and one was even confused on what it was supposed to even be.... That was the last time I brought anything to those gatherings because it's horrible to see people waste food, especially food that I bought with my money despite being poor, and food I took time to put together with quality ingredients. Most of the jug came back home with us. I asked my friend who was not there and she said it's supposed to be milk and mango pulp not with yogurt.
Grace Brielle lassi is made with yogurt and milkshake with milk. I am Indian and we make this recipe all the time. I just like to add cardamom powder too. It gives extra flavor.

Instead of saying Indian you should say south Asian drink
Smoothies have ice in them, stop being nationalistic.
Hmm. I'm wondering if it just needs to have a 'frozen' component... I never use ice, rather frozen fruit.
#SuperKotaGhost
That “yummy” didn’t sound convincing 😂
no coriander? seriously
not even a fresh mango...
DJWeaponized
In many places fresh mango is not available. I have used the same grand of canned mangos as this young lady, and in most cases I like it MORE than fresh mangos, which always vary in ripeness, flavor, and season. I always have a couple of cans on hand to use instantly.
But, any canned food has A LOT or preservatives which is bad for your health
DJWeaponized stfu, if it's a big deal you use a fresh one
The canning process is what preserves the food...
well then use the same amount but in fresh mango instead? it isn't that hard. i used to live in a place where fresh mango was abundant and it would be sold at several places in the streets every day, but now i moved to a predominantly british area where there is hardly the same and indian ingredients are very expensive, think about it
