I attended a bible study where the subject was what the earth was like before the flood. It was proposed , because we are not completely sure what the conditions were at that time, that the earth was surrounded by a heavy warm atmosphere so much that the bible references the sun and the moon as the greater light and lesser light. After the flood it is referred to as the sun and moon. The conditions were so favorable that plant life grew in great abundance. The large dinosaurs were the means to maintain this balance by consuming large quantities of plant life. After the flood the earths conditions changed so they were no longer needed. All the water held in the atmosphere was released and that became our oceans and the extra is stored in the polar ice regions. Man indeed lived longer because the earth was protected from the harmful effects of the suns radiation (aging) on our bodies. The result of God's plan to change the earth also changed the need for a completely different eco-system which resulted in only certain animal species put into the Ark. No need for very large plant eating animals and their predators to keep them in check. Also the very real fact that with mankind living so long it is very clear, as stated in the bible, that their evil ways increased. We see that today even with an expected life span drastically reduced men are capable of tremendous evil. Just imagine how evil mankind could become living such long life spans. There also remains the mystery of the demonic realm injecting itself into the genetic biology of mankind. The Omniscience, Omnipresence and Omnipotence of our Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit is wonderful to contemplate and study.

There is still water in the ground.
it is extracted when drilling for mineral oil.
i wonder if it is salty.
the salt we got now in the oceans is probably salt that was washed out from the ground.
the mineral oil, coal and gas are compressed humans, plants, animals and all kind of biological stuff that inhabited the earth before the flood.

Just imagine Klaus Schwab living close to a thousand years... yikes! But seriously, I do wonder what the preflood land was like. All we have that remains today is the precambrian basement granite rock that likely existed before the flood. The way it is suggested plants were more difficult to grow in the past makes me wonder how different that ecosystem was. I also wonder how much stronger the magnetic field was, and how it interacted with the environment.

Do you think Adam just picked up sticks or did he have tools such as something to prune with? Did he have a tool belt? ..a tool shed?

The bible tells us that God gave Adam dominion over the whole world so Adam must of been aware of what was outside the garden. As for tools, who knows what technology pre fallen Adam was capable of creating. Since it was natural for Adam to speak and walk with God in the garden then Adam's brain was likely able to perceive the higher dimensions (spirit world) so who knows tools/tech Adam was able to make with his superior brain and close relationship with God. I suspect Adam may have had a limited form of godliness wherein he can make things happen by just saying it....but who knows, this is just my speculations.

@@velkyn1 The Hebrew documents which you reject out of hand are indeed evidence. That you reject them says again more about your worldview than the evidence itself. Surely you must know that arguments from silence are tenuous at best and that is exactly what you base your argument on. Just because you have not seen some latrine, trash pit, grave or hieroglyphic stating something about Moses and the Exodus is by no means the definitive proof you seem to think that it is. Archaeology is a very incomplete science ... we know but a fraction and outline from the distant past. There is much from the ancient past that we will never discover. Furthermore, it would not be surprising that the Egyptians would not wish to broadcast loudly their utter humiliation and loss to the Hebrews. It is simply human nature to gloss over such momentous defeats.
As to certain theologians not sure if the Hebrew documents are metaphorical or historical ... these men can decide for themselves which course they wish to pursue. I read Hebrew and Exodus is written in historical narrative form rather than in poetry. Hence, I see it as historical narrative.

They indeed did get the message because Noah preached to them regarding the upcoming catastrophe for 120 years but since they preferred sin over God's will, they chose not to care. As a result they were all deleted. And the reason why the animals were also violent is because of the Gen. 6 rebellion of the fallen angels which ruined the human and animal genes. This period lasted 1296 years. God is patient. The prophet Enoch recounts God's sentence to Semyaza and his clique. They were doomed and they knew it. Question for the comments: (keep in mind I'm only a few minutes into the video) but if the world was perfect and death did not exist, that would have to mean that there was no entropy, right? Since entropy is a large part of the 2nd law of thermodynamics we would have to infer that physics worked differently in the Edenian epoch as well, right? That could very well be an argument for a young earth. Admittedly, I've oscillated between young and old earth theories without denying the fact that I believe the Lord created it all. However, because I believe He is the Creator of all things, I believe He is a limitless God who exists outside time, space, or matter. He is completely capable of changing the laws of physics in this universe if He so desires. This make perfect sense to me within the Creationist paradigm. Anyone else?

We are told the ark saved samples from all land animals... are we to assume marine life in its various forms weathered through the flood, not necessarily unscathed but still viable for repopulation purposes? If so, wouldn't the separation of fresh to salt water ecosystems be seriously distorted during the flood?

This is the first I'm hearing about a universal curse on the ground for the cause of murder.
    Gen 4:11 - And now art THOU (not the earth) cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
Genesis does not curse the ground because of Cain (like He did for Adam's sin) but rather he cursed Cain from the earth. He was made a "vagabond" (a beggar) in effect because he couldn't earn a living anymore no matter how hard he tried. This is not a general poisoning of the ground wherever he set foot. You have to read that into the passage.
And in fact, here's what the bible says when God removes the curse:
Gen 8:21 - And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for MAN'S sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
That word, "man" in Genesis 8 is LITERALLY, Adam in Hebrew. So it's saying, "I will not again curse the ground any more for Adam's sake..." Man and adam are the same Hebrew word.
A lot of what you're teaching here, you have to read into (i.e. force into) the scriptures. At my church we have an hermeneutic that constrains us as follows: "We speak where the bible speaks and where the bible is silent we are silent."
This constraint prevents us introducing error, which is SO widespread in the denominational world. For example: Paul wrote to the Corinthians and mentioned baptism for the dead. What does that mean? The correct answer is, "I don't know." You cannot (given the above constraint) flesh that out (like the Mormons have) because to do so is to add to what has already been revealed. And we know that whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God (2 Jn 9a).
We are not at liberty to flesh out the revelation of God in order to build our own religion (or whatever you're up to). It's raw, down and dirty, cut-throat fundamentalism and it keeps "the faith ONCE delivered unto the saints", pure. You need to join our church and be set free from every wind of doctrine that blows out of Rome or even your own imagination. Build your faith on a solid foundation and Jesus promises that, though the wind blows and the waves beat, your structure will stand.

It has been my understanding that the fountains of the great deep were broken on that day, which suggests that there were no tectonic plate boundaries before that. So with none of the plates yet broken, it's hard for me to imagine earthquakes of any appreciable magnitude. The planet has evidence of many extinction event impacts. And due to being extinction level, they must all have occurred during Noah's Flood, a few of which could have fractured the crust into tectonic plates. Any such impact having occurred on a plate boundary that subsequently gushed forth unimaginable volumes of water would have all evidence of it eroded away in a very short time. Niagara Falls erodes an enormous amount of rock each year, and it is a pinhole leak compared to what gushed out of the great deep for those 40 days. I doubt we will ever find an extinction level impact on a plate boundary, unless said boundary formed after the 40 days ended.

If there was no death in the garden, Adam would not have been able to understand what death was. Nothing suggests the animals were everlasting.

    • @IsGenesisHistory
      @IsGenesisHistory  2 года назад

      Hello Dennis,
It is important to remember that, according to the Bible, Adam and God conversed right from the start on Day 6 of Creation Week (see Genesis 2). Since this was not enough time for Adam to develop an entire vocabulary on his own, God would have had to program a language into Adam upon his creation, despite the fact that Adam had not experienced any of the words in that language yet. This strongly suggests that Adam knew what death meant, even though he had no personal experience with it.
You also mentioned that nothing in the text suggests the animals were everlasting. There are several scriptural reasons we believe this not to have been the case. One such example is the strong tie between human sin and animal death in the Bible's sacrificial system. This tie suggests that human sin is not only the cause of human death, but also the cause of animal death. This would mean that before man’s sin, animals did not eat each other, which, in turn, is consistent with the original animals eating only plants (Genesis 1:30). And, since animals and humans are the only organisms that are biblically alive, it follows that all death is due to man’s sin. The original creation would have had no death of biblical life.

@@IsGenesisHistory The only possible way for a lion to suddenly go from eating veggies only ( a herbivore) to becoming a full blown carnivore is a completely new digestive system. As well as the sudden addition of long fangs, claws, etc. and a keen hunting sense. You realize how highly specialized the digestive system of total herbivores are? For all practical purposes, this is a new animal and would require a divine re-working, necessarily making God continue to create even after the day of rest had begun. Also, the logical question becomes, who decided which animals turned carnivore? Why didn't hippos begin stalking deer? Or elephants begin eating wildebeest? Why are the carnivores we have today the ones God re-made? ( Again, God would have to be involved, AFTER the day of rest had begun). You are talking about God having to re-create the structure of life on this planet simply because of what Adam did. And why didn't God tell Adam this? " All the animals will die too". This is no small point. You are adding to God's express warning, making it say something it doesn't. And why did God grant the brute animals of the field everlasting life automatically, while making man's completely conditional? As for Genesis 1:30, it noticeably lacks the word 'only'. God is making a general statement here showing simply that He has provided food for all his creation. If taken literally, then no animal ate fruit, but only 'green vegetation'. No birds ate fruit ? Or nuts? Only something green? Bears didn't love berries? Sorry, don't buy it. Animals are not like people. God did not put "everlasting into their hearts". ( Ecclesiastes 3:11 ) There is nothing in the Genesis account that suggests animals lived forever. It is a complete inference. The earth would be overrun in very short order and would require divine intervention to halt all breeding processes. ( Rabbits, anyone? ).
The animal sacrifices under the Law showed that the animals lives did have value to God, and that value was the shed blood. That blood had to be shed for atonement was an important concept for the Israelites to understand, as Paul says it " was a tutor leading to Christ". They knew that blood had to be spilled for the remission of sins. Yet at the same time, they could never sacrifice enough animals to gain life. They needed something better. The atoning value of Christ's blood. This is a whole different topic but, suffice to say, nothing in the animal sacrifices suggests that at one time the animals were immortal. That's really reaching to support a "pet theory".
That last sentence, honestly, makes no sense. Fish are alive. The oceans are full of them. All with blood too. Redefine life to make animals immortal? "Biblically alive"? Everything else is dead ? Silly reasoning to support a silly argument.

He spoke to this in saying that reproduction rates were less in the pre-fall world and increased with the introduction of death. Likely this comes from the pre-flood geneologies where human procreation was delayed until the 130th year of life on average, so if you extrapolate that to the animals you have a far slower rate of population growth. For my part, I don't believe that our preoccupation with carnality and sexuality existed before the fall. There were probably no freezing winters. So the earth was much more productive and fertile. There was no wasted land. Also, the earth is very large. With the land area being 100% productive, it could sustain vastly greater numbers of people and animals. It is possible, perhaps likely, that all plants were edible or produced edible fruits. It was a perfect world of abundance. If at some point, the populations of humans and animals would have outgrown the earth, God is certainly able to come up with a solution. The universe is an enormous place. God could have moved populations of animals and humans to other planets. God could have had an infinite number of solutions to such a problem. If this season was every 50 or 100 years it's easy to see how slow population growth would have been. And you can extrapolate that to the animals, who still mate in a due season to this day, in the beginning, with no death to consider, there was no need for an annual mating season, it could have been on a cycle of 5, 10 years or more.

We are living in a similar time as that of the ante - diluvian period. Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, landslides etc. coming before the Chastisement predicted by Our Lady of Fatima in 1917. This chastisement will come upon the earth as a result of mankind's refusal to conform his life to God' s way and his arrogance in believing that God does not exist. Start praying as this Chastisement is going to be that of fire and only prayer (the rosary) and a return to God will mitigate it.

Kurt did you think the time was 33.5 years before the fall from creation. This is why Christ was Crucified at 33.5 years. It was made to match Adams sinless time and then brought sin into the world, Christ with his death and resurrection taking it to defeat.

@@KenJackson_US I was probably in a little bit of a moody, kind of critical mood the other night when I posted this but, I do think there is some point in speaking to people who may not be Christians in a way that they can understand. Sometimes we say things that we don’t realize that we may be speaking more to the choir but not speaking in a way that relates to common people who don’t have her experiences.

What about insects? I have a theory that they were not small (flies ants mosquitoes) but rather large “bugs” and what we have today is a byproduct of the curse, like with some herbivores becoming carnivores.

The best examples are perhaps insects which look exactly the same as today, but only larger in size due to pre flood conditions, just like the plants. Ant fossils, fly fossils, etc. It also shows there is no macroevolution, only changes in species that are possible within the limits of the existing genetic makeup of the original species.

So if the fall never happened and humans live forever, there would be hundreds of billions of humans on this planet. How would crops have been sustained on a singular planet that would not be able to produce enough plants for a population that would be much much greater than today? Humans would have needed to remove any other living beings (both land and sea) who would also need to eat the same plants. Either that or the billions of humans (including yourself and your families) would not have been born. I would like to ask you a question about your education. You have a title of Doctor so I am curious how you worked towards that title and how you disclaimed and ignored all of the data, studies, information and evidence you most definitely had to study and cite as you worked towards receiving your title?

Like right NOW, is what it was like before the flood.
    Luke 17
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
    28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

The bible references Adam's age when his first child was born but never make a reference of his age (since he was eternal) when God gave "birth" to the woman which came from Adam." So perhaps Adam walked with God for a very long time before Eve was birthed?

It seems to me that Adam and Eve would have had no survival skills when they left the garden and no food except maybe some fruit that would soon rot if they did not eat eat.
How could they survive ? They did not know how to hunt or plant....
Do you suppose their first home was in a cave since they did not know how to build a house of sticks or mud?
Do you think maybe God helped them and taught them - how to make tools, hunt, plant, make clothes etc ?
Perhaps God was there to help Adam deliver the first child ?

How long from end of Creation Week to the FALL of MAN: We don't know. This is the important matter that you are dealing with, I presume? If it lasted hours, days or years, we don't know. There is no mention of any child of Adam and Eve PRIOR to the Fall, so it seems that human breeding did not take place until AFTER the Fall - which leads many to argue that the act of the Fall had much to do with sex; procreative or otherwise. The baffling problem here is that we are simply NOT TOLD EXACTLY WHAT ADAM AND EVE DID that eventually was called ''The Fall''.
Everything between the FALL and the FLOOD was the Antediluvian (Pre-Flood) World. During this time, mankind lived for centuries - but were mortal nonetheless.
From Expulsion From Eden to Birth of Cain: One year at most... probably only 9 months.
From Birth of Cain to Birth of Abel: We don't know. Perhaps only one year. Certainly less than 110. We DO know that there were many MANY other humans alive, because Cain is fearful that he will be killed by others for the crime he did against his brother. Also, it is clear he was able to find a wife and journey to a land where he - along with many others, we may well presume - built a city and named it for his son: Enoch (Not the Enoch of the Sethic line)
From Death of Abel to Birth of Seth: We don't know. Possibly only one year. Certainly only 130 years since the Creation of Adam.
From Birth of Seth until the Descent of the Watchers and their interbreeding with Human Women to give rise to the Nephilim: Probably around 1,000 years.
From the Fall of Adam and Eve until God's Announcement to Destroy Mankind: Around 1536 years. Noah would have been 480 years old at the time.
From the Fall of Adam and Eve until the Flood: 1656 years (according to the Masoretic Text of Genesis)

Genesis 1:6,7 ( and the canopy theory) God made the firmament to divide the water under and over the firmament.., Adam's generation was shielded from intense radiation of the sun before rhe flood and was able to live 900 + years. If the " fountains" of Noah's flood include volcanic ash mixing with water vapor, rain would result, comets are composed of ice and dust, atmospheric pressure and temperature would drop rapidly...
