I was thinking the same thing. LOL I love when people, who are Hebrew or Greek grammar nerds, start to interpret the text. The Hebrew language is very precise, and very vivid. It is very different from our English language. I attempted to learn Hebrew at one point, and it gave me an extreme headache. It is very different from our own language, and much more precise. It isn't easy to learn. If you follow the proper grammar rules in Hebrew, it seems to back itself up so that you can't mess up the meaning. It is very exact, so when in doubt about a verse in the bible then go to the Hebrew or Greek that it was originally written in. It will tell you for sure what it is saying. This presentation brought it out beautifully. A shout out, with much admiration, for this man taking the time to become proficient in this language. It isn't an easy accomplishment. I understand , with compassion, when he said that his class groaned with the assignment from their professor. LOL

The thing about Moses having horns, that was a translation error. Originally the word meant "shining" or "radiant". It was mistranslation & was copied as "horns" & now we see paintings with Moses sporting a pair of horns. The whole of Creation was not achieved in six days. Just saying.🙂

E.g.: at say 10^-43 second. I think both the Bible and secularists may agree that there were instant creations or formations (evolutions according to the secularists) - when the 4 forces of nature separated themselves from an initial energy symmetry. As a biblical creationist this application could fit into Gen 1:2-3, in the first part of 1 day of God's creation.

Wouldn't it be fair to say that eternity is "time" immeasurable? / Perhaps "in beginning" introduces "measurable time", since time is only relevant to the finite. / I believe that time (and everything else) has always existed in the mind of God, therefore, it always existed.

I see many of the comments here as intellectual jousting(Pride on display) I love the continuity of The Hebrew in this presentation especially the “He who is” which is exactly what The Lord Jesus (Yeshua) stated in John when he flatly proclaimed to the Pharisees challenging HIS authority and origin “ Before Abraham was I AM” confirming he was the voice of the burning bush...... with no beginning or end YHVH the Tetragrammaton the Ayeh Asher Ayeh .

The idea regarding (19:00) elohim is one issue that is in question since elohim refers to spirit beings and not absolute to the trinity. This difference in how that term is interpreted and applied can be found in teaching by Dr. Michael Heiser and Dr. Tim Mackie and others. Their teaching on elohim and how it is used throughout the Bible provides clarity.

  • @elysedenomme2544

I would suggest that "one day" was referring to the order of how the day occurs, evening then morning. This way, the pattern is in harmony with the rest of scripture according to how YHWH ordained keeping time, especially for His set apart feasts. The suggestion you provided about the earth's spinning axis does not keep in harmony with the rest of scripture that speaks about the earth being fixed and immovable. The Light and Darkness separation is the knowledge of "good" and "evil" which He separated because only Light [goodness] is in the heavens dwelling with Him. Eve was later tempted by the same knowledge and ate of its fruit. The "good" eat manna from heaven. Eating His Word means to internalize it. His Word is layered with literal and allegorical synonyms. This is how the imagery is kept relevant while at the same time historically accurate. His ways [light] will always win out when measured up to the ways of the world [dark]. There is mention of a new heaven and earth coming, one that He brings to us. Like you said, and I agree with, we are the main stage.
    A few verses to consider
    Psalm 104:5, 33:9, 93:1, 96:10, 119:89-90
    1 Chron 16:30
    Isaiah 14:7, 45:18, 40:22
    Zechariah 1:11
    Job 26:7, 26:10
    Proverbs 8:28
    2 Peter 3:5
    Rev 7:1
I think you do a great deal of study and hard work that does not go unnoticed. But your argument for this discussion does little to sway the mindset of a berean that factors in every single detailed verse in order to view the whole picture in harmony. There are several examples where we are warned against using the knowledge of the fallen transgressed state of mankind to fit into the Wisdom of the Most High. Tread carefully and study more thoroughly the philosophy behind the knowledge you present. Does it harmonize with the entire Bible from beginning to end? Why would YHWH use specific forms of words for Moshe to record if He meant it to be viewed in their period of time mindset? Where did the great ancient thinkers get their epiphanies? Why were the giants referred to as "mighty, of old, men of renown?" What did the sons of God [Watchers] teach mankind? Who and how were the monolithic structures built? Why do we find the pyramid structure on every continent? Why does YHWH say not to replicate what is in Heaven? Why is the pyramid structure used for conceptual ideologies, psychology, governments, religions, occult philosophy, etc.? It all connects to that first day created and snowballs into what we witness in our time. Free will is a brilliant concept, but those who chose the Dark over Light [transgression of YHWH's righteous laws] will not find their dwelling place with Him. And when transgression is finally abolished after the second advent during the second death, the Dark consciousness will cease existence forever and ever.

49:20 - This is interesting if you consider that what we know of as "the speed of light" is a convention; exclusively the 2-way (round-trip) speed of light, halved. And that it is impossible to conduct any experiment to measure the one-way speed of light. Time is also not a constant (proven), and so I wonder if this also suggests time dialation relative to the beginning.

The plurality of "elohim" does not inherently indicate pluriunity. I'm also not saying it disproves it, but the verbs are conjugated as singular, not plural. The Gen. 1:26 "let us make" is an exception, but similar exceptions exist for human characters elsewhere in the bible, and a proposal to take action is a common theme among them (we even sometimes do so in English, e.g. "Give us a chance," "Let's not".) "And God SAID" immediately before it beginning the verse is also singular. It's important to understand that Biblical Hebrew often uses the "majestic plural" in many contexts, including even using the very same word "elohim" referring to a singular, influential human being ("mighty one" or "judge"). This is roughly equivalent to the "royal 'We'" used by British monarchs to refer to their individual selves. Many other languages utilize the same concept, and only a few centuries ago it was integral to everyday English based on age & social status. I'm disappointed the presenter was not upfront about this, because he should know.

Doug, my wife and I have listened to about 6 of your lectures, including this one twice. Great material and presentation. I'd like to hear you elaborate more on the creation of the stars. It was not clear to me as to whether or not you were suggesting that the stars were separate creations, or were made from existing matter. You mentioned a divine fire works display. You may be familiar with both Jason Lisle and Spike Psaris, both astrophysicists. Both men reject the big bang theory. I would highly recommend you read pages 79 - 81 of Jason Lisle's book, "Taking Back Astronomy". He gives one of the best arguments against the big bang theory; the absence of antimatter in the universe. I believe the stars were individual creations, certainly none we know of as complex as earth, but seeing the complexity and diversity of stars and planets, I believe the stars / planets were most likely individual creations, just like angels are all individual creations, not a race like with men.
Both men have lectures on youtube; just type their name in the youtube search bar.

When scripture describes the Spirit “hovering” over the waters of the deep, it can also be translated “vibrating”. Investigate “sonoluminescence” which also creates light in water from vibration-which is closer to the biblical account, that the Holy Spirit vibrated over the waters of the deep and created light.

There is a list of 7 “ites” Amorites being one, that were to be utterly destroyed and the LORD even gives the reasons why, it was due to their wickedness and that if not destroyed, their customs, idolatry, passing their children in the fire, etc would become a snare among the Israelites.

38:25 time - Doug, it’s properly “out” and not “up”. The enormity of the earth leads us to forget to take all dimensions in context with one another. There really isn’t “up and down.” It’s “in and out”; towards the center of (dominant) mass, and away from it. I hope I’m making sense.

    • @victorthacker9374

@james welsh. James, I am sort of with you on this and I picked that up as well. I don’t have the specifics yet ironed out but I think I know where you are heading. I have had the idea of what your “center of (dominant) mass” was and it contained all the light that was needed perspectively because there was going to be a separation of light and dark before the waters below. The solid crust would be formed to separate the plasma “light” core from the liquid surface, during the formation of the eventual round form, magnetic poles and the eventual magnetic field. I don’t think there had to be a “up or down” to create a evening and a morning, I think that came later. We know you can have evening and morning like in the polar regions without the absence or presence of the day 4 “greater light” and “lesser light”. I have had this idea for a while so I’m not sure that is what your thoughts are as well and I’m not eloquent or well versed enough to explain it all, but if I’m reading you wrong then let me know. But thanks for pointing that out from a otherwise awesome teaching.

In listening to this, an intriguing question arose: Is it possible that there a time division between Gen. 1:2 and Gen. 1:3? The idea of "one day" seems to be starting with the creation of light and not necessarily with "in beginning", as though the artist painted the basic background color, paused and then began painting light on it, finishing the painting in seven literal days though having started the very general framework before them.
I am definitely not advocating that anything but stasis was going on in the prelude to light and the question can be fairly asked of the idea, "Why would God pause?" I don't know why He would. But if He did, it might entertain some interesting thoughts on some of the old age/new age of the earth conundrums.
As I said though, this could NOT challenge the idea of a very literal 6 day creation of everything from light to Adam if one uses the Bible as a source, which I do.

Dear sir, I don’t suppose you read any comments but I have a question. I don’t know anything about the zodiac for some are simply look at the heavens from England and see only these obvious constellations. Using the Greek names: - Orion, Cassiopeia, Cygnus the swan, The plough, or the big dipper, you might call it. Orion clearly has the number three and the number seven in it, and it is the most glorious constellation surrounded by the brightest stars. The plough essentially has seven points in it as well, and it points to the one star but never moves in the sky the polestar. I would prefer to call it a scroll because it looks like a scroll, and once again I think a number seven is in essentially its construction. And sickness is obviously across and Cassiopeia. It’s a zigzag obviously the sign of a snake so there are two symbols of salvation right there; Moses lifted up a snake for salvation, and Jesus was lifted up on a cross. So my question is, although I probably don’t read these Linx, what do you know what the Hebrew names for these constellations are please?

It's a great read, and it almost rarely mentioned the serpent
That Serpent has a function attached to it. That would be Accuser. In Job the Serpent was sent to accuse him of not having faith in God. The friends of Job were all speaking with the tongue of the Accuser and had rebelled from God.
This "Serpent" is capable of talking through a person that allows themselves to rebel against God. Satan the Serpent was speaking thoughts and Peter spoke them to Yeshua when He was preparing for the Cross. Peter was rebuked and Satan left Peter for a time. It is possible to possessed by a nother spirit other than the Holy Spirit. Many people are presenting that false devil into their comments lately.
In the New Testament, Satan and his demons have the power to enter and possess people; this is what is said and did happen to Judas (Luke 22:3; John 13:27; cf. Mark 5:12-13; Luke 8:30-32). And yet more than half of the Saducees and some.ofnthe Pharisees were also possessed, and yet appeared to be holy men.
Many people that entertain people for a living admit they take on spirits.
Denzel Washington for example. Acting is the career of manifesting a different spirit other than oneself and create a false environment outwardly. It's called a "Show"
So one is going to have to reflect on what it is they believe, when one's own worldly peers believe in spirits and channel them. Which the Bible speaks of, the wicked of the world admit to this, and one mocks it's existence. Many musicians admit to selling their soul to this very same Satan, otherwise known as lucipher bit that is merely a Latin title. It's not the name. Neither is Satan. Neither is the devil. These are all titles. Originally in the Hebrew word for him is Haylel.

All have the choice to follow Yashua Messiah and walk through that door to YHVH. We can choose to be grafted in (adopted) through faith. YHVH forces no one. Those who choose and obey His Commands indeed to have something that those who deny Him and choose to walk as the world walks, do not have. They have Him abiding within us as the Holy (set apart) spirit. It is not ‘magic’ nor is it fantasy. You cannot accept this because you do not know Him (relational). He is Truth, Light, and Life.

Circular reasoning at its best. We had the Bible, in English, before the KJV existed and the readers of the Geneva Bible looked at the new KJV the same way you look at other English translations. You have turned a translation into an idol. You can’t make a perfect translation from Hebrew into English, as our bibles would have to be ten times thicker to pull the whole meaning of each word. Word study is a great way to understand scripture even better. There wasn’t a book of James, nor a man named James in the Greek, as the name is Jacobos, or Jacob. The KJV needed the kings approval, so we saw a twisting of a name into James. Don’t tell me how perfect the KJV is. It is a great translation, but there are others too, There are bad ones too, ie “The Message”, or “the new world translation”.

The AV is perfect in English.
God made a perfect translation out of the “original” 5000 years ago. Adam was the original and
Enoch, the 7th from Adam, was translated and Noah the 10th from the “original” was providentially preserved.
Why do you people “CHOKE” on
the words translation and preservation? Nowhere does the scripture say the “originals” are to be preserved.
Less than 1% of the population on earth speak Hebrew and Greek.
Yet 1/3 of the population on earth have contact with the English.

The Hebrew text tells a completely different story in Genesis 1 & 2 than all English translations.

Is everyone actually READING what Moses said in Genesis Chapter 1?
Let's look at the word 'Heaven'. What is it? Moses wrote this book so where is it clear what 'heaven' is to Moses.
God made 'heaven' in the 2nd day. He turns the middle part of the water we read about in verse 2 into a firmament. What is a firmament...it was water so it must be another kind of substance, right? God gave it the name of 'Heaven'. We are still not sure just what heaven is so let's read further along in what Moses wrote. If we look at the 5th day we see God making marine and flying animals from the water. This must be the lower water layer mentioned in the 2nd day account. We are told that the WINGED FOWL FLY in the FIRMAMENT of Heaven. The marine creatures move by pushing against the water, land creatures by pushing against the ground, so what do flying creatures push against... AIR! So Heaven, according to the information Moses provides us with, is our ATMOSPHERE, not the universe or where God's throne is. More on this later.
What about the 'Earth'? If we look at verse 2 we see that what will become 'earth' is under water where the FACE of the DEEP is underneath the DARKNESS. The earth is said to be VOID... what does that mean? Going to Isa 45:18 we see that the 'earth' was created/made/FORMED by God to be INHABITED. So in verse 2 we are being told that there were no people on the earth because it is underwater.
By the 3rd day the water of verse 2 had become a layer of water ABOVE Heaven, some of it turned into Heaven and finally a layer of water BELOW heaven and then there is the FACE of the DEEP, which is the land where the future earth is, referred to being WITHOUT FORM at this stage.
On the 3rd day we see God make SEAS. Seas require basins made of LAND, so obviously God had formed BASINS in the Face of the Deep. The lower layer of water flowed into these basins to form what God called SEAS. The land surrounding the sea basins had stayed where it was in verse 2, but now it was ABOVE THE WATER LEVEL. Of course it was wet at first, but Heaven, the atmosphere, had followed the water level down as it went into the sea basins. Heaven came in contact with the surrounding land and dried it out. God called the DRY LAND, Earth. Then plant life started to grow, the first life form.
Notice that according to the information given by Moses it is NOT our PLANET that is the Earth, but just the LAND ABOVE THE WATER LEVEL of the seas.
BEFORE Adam and Eve could be put on this planet God had to put DRY land for them to live on PLUS AIR to BREATHE.
That is why verse 1 says, 'In the BEGINNING God made Heaven (the atmosphere) and the Earth (dry land)'. The word 'beginning' refers to the 2nd and 3rd days at the BEGINNING OF THE WEEK or the Creation process.
The great majority of Christians and even non-Christians think of Heaven as being a place far away from our planet where God's throne is. Others use it to refer to the universe of stars etc. Lots of people use both these concepts. It has become part of our dictionaries.
However, as we see from above, what God called Heaven is just the atmosphere. The word 'Heaven' in the Bible is often used as a reference point. The term Father IN Heaven is different from Father INSIDE Heaven. The word IN is a relational word such as in saying the TV station broadcasts its program IN color, the word IN is not referring a box the signal is inside of but to the kind of signal that is being sent. Being IN Heaven is not being INSIDE a building, they are two different words. In reference to the clergy Jesus told the Jews not to call any man ON EARTH Father or Rabbi or Master for ONE is your Father IN HEAVEN. Mat 23:9. Your natural father can be called 'father' because he actually contributed to your existence as does God. Anyone else calling himself your father is claiming to be God, blasphemy! Do you know of anyone on our planet who claims to be God and sits on a white throne in a city of seven hills? Jesus is coming from outside this planet, from heaven. The word 'heaven' here tells us the direction Jesus is coming from, which is not north, east, west or south.
God did indeed make the universe, but not during this week in Genesis Chapter 1. It doesn't matter when God created the universe, only that He created it by His word instantly so that all the functions could function immediately. Evolutionists talk about millions and billions of years because they are trying to get enough time for everything to come into existence by accident, but even the atoms could never come into existence by accident. Whether God created the universe trillions or billions of years doesn't matter to the Christian as God can do anything in a moment of time whenever He wants. Genesis is simply a part of God's dealing with the rebellion of Satan and his angels, intending to replace the fallen angels with us. I challenge you to figure that out yourself, it is not hard.
