It is incredibly ugly too. Is a low trim feature I wonder? All the the Chinese show cars which were the high trim 4 seat models, that entire panel is motorized and serves as the charge door, so it looks super clean. So clean you don't even realize it is the charge port cover. But this version with a cutout for a manual charge door inside the panel looks really bad.
At first I found its face too busy (compared to the Volvo), but it quickly grows on me. Looks like a great car. Except the blue interior and C-pilar color gimmick, and the door handles which will make the paint suffer with rings.
It is very gratifying that this manufacturer understands the importance of home charging. and invests 22KW converters. This is the reason for the vehicle's victory over its competitors in addition to the vehicle's qualities and performance
The brand Zeekr is really nice ev car.Special design,Good mechanical quality,Comfortable and Exquisite interior, and Software is easy to use which combined in one vehicle.
Did i get it right? A COMPACT Car below 50k € is now a now brainer? Well ... even a Mercedes A Class in its best times didnt cost that much if im not wrong. Yeah its an E Car ... which decreases now massivly in prices ... but that doesnt make it right to call a car in the 45k league reachable for many people, even with that level of quality, which has also to be proven by using it in kind of infortainment, assistent, service and repairs.
to compare with same E car in Chinese market price, that will make you crazy. for this one start from around 24.3K Euro, BMW IX now drive away price start from around 64K Euro, EQE Saloon start from less than 51K Euro, crazy price war🤣
This is a truly gorgeous car, both outside and inside... at first glance from your video I like it better than the EX30, I'm very pleasantly surprised myself.😀
I like all three extrerior designs (Smart, Volvo and Zeekr), but in the interior the Smart is too playful and round, the Volvo materials seem to cheap, so the Zeekr wins for me. I saw another review from China, on which they show, the left rear panel opens completely - here they integrated an ordinary charge port lid. Maybe it's due to safety regulations here in Europe. Unfortunately the sliding screen is also not allow in Europe.
This is not a Geely model. It's a brand in the Geely group. Zeekr is a brand like Audi or Porsche is a brand in the VW Group. Geely, like VW, has a brand, Geely Auto, and a Group, ZGH, Geely Holding. Geely Holding owns various brands, not Geely Auto. Geely Holdings owns Geely Auto and Lotus and Zeekr and Volvo, etc.
Been waiting for this to come to Europe! But what a shame they took so many things off even the charging port mechanism and the price under 50k euros would be too much. Considering the top spec is selling in china is 32k euros. It would make much sense if top spec is 40k euro
66KWH CLTC-560KM version has 2 price. Five seats one motor cost 189800RMB almost 24K euros. And 4 seats two motor version cost 209800RMB almost 26.5K euros. I am not sure about the price of 100KWH and 140KWH version. These price are inside china. But you know there are shipping fee and tariff fee. Top version must be under 40K euros inside china.
@@junguo3088 The dealer network raises the prices of vehicles very much, and the manufacturer has a problem with the price of vehicles on the market, because their margins are large. These are new manufacturers' brands and they need to have a very favorable price on the European market, because Europeans are very skeptical of unknown brands and Chinese manufacturers. I hope that the sale of vehicles is like that of Tesla, and not through the dealer's network in Europe, and thus to be better positioned in terms of price, considering that, as a Chinese brand, it has to break through on the European market
Nice looking car but are they going to make this for UK, Aus, NZ & other RHD markets? If not then I can switch off now. Definitely has a better better interior than the EX30 due to the driver straight ahead instrument display. Boot is a bit small & how can they only get 220 mile range out of a 66kWhr battery when a 5 year old Hyundai Kona can do 300 miles from a 64kWh? What battery chemistry are they using? I guess not LFP otherwise it would have been a sales feature worth mentioning. Unfortunately the price is far too expensive for such a compact car.
50k is not a "very low price" Thomas 3:45 agree on the visibility and tiny rear turn signal trend, overall very nice and visible turn signals on this car, i like that undermirror signal as well, pretty original. i dont like door handles, inside door relese buttons, pano roof. i like that buttons on the steering wheel can be used for HVAC. makes "tablet only interor" bearable.
@@autogefuehl ok, i misunderstood the pricing... i thought it's the starting price. 👍 i hope starting price will get under 35k, if the industry really want switch to EV we need more smaller (non SUV), more affordable EV cars for ordinary people....
Sadly it looks like due to regulations Europeans would not get the fully loaded Zeekr with all the cool features that the Volvo does not have. The Chinese market Zeekr for instance has zero gravity passenger seat and then that center screen slides over to the passenger side so the passenger can relax and watch media on the screen. It also has a modular fridge that can go into the center console and the 4 seat version have power folding rear seats which fold upwards, creating a flat load floor for tall items or pets. I wonder if the Europeans will get that version because that's literally only available in pickup trucks currently, not in small crossovers.
Is there a Regulations that in Europe the Screen is not allowed to move to the Passenger side? i mean that was 1 of the Selling points of the Zeeker X in China.
Actually, i thk setting up starting sound is pretty cool idea. Almost every ev cars that recently made just have too silent alert to notice whether its ready to go or not.
Between the Volvo, Zeekr and Smart, this wins hands down . Hope Zeekr expands fast, and it would be great if they add integrated google like a Volvo. Volvo’s latest cars (the EX range) feels cheapstakes in my opinion

Really liked the idea of moving center screen. Front passenger could better act as a co pilot for example setting navigation for the driver. And that is not allowed in EU?😢
I don't think of them as sisters. I think of Polestar and Volvo as sisters as they share parts, designers and Polestar was spun off from Volvo. Zeekr has a different design and engineering team and is in a different subgroup at Geely Group. True, they share a platform and size factor but that's about it. I prefer the Volvo. It's understated and more Scandinavian chic. The Zeekr is busier and nice enough and I prefer the exterior of it over the interior.
Thanks Thomas. It has al the extra's the Volvo is missing, at least from my point of view. Buttons, head up display and over 10% more luggage room. The Volvo is nicer from design, and I wonder how the service is for maintenance or fixes compared to Volvo or do they use the same dealer infrastructure?. Lets wait for the drive reviews to see how both cars drive.
The Volvo is smaller. The ZeekrX is almost the size of an XC40. Volvo and Zeekr are different brands in different divisions. They're not connected as much as even Porsche and Audi. And even Polestar, much closer related to Volvo, isn't serviced by many Volvo dealers.
The fact that it has an NCM battery is a big drawback for me, and I would be much more attracted if it had an LFP, LMFP or sodium battery of the same capacity. I hope that the sale of vehicles is like that of Tesla, and not through the dealer's network in Europe, and thus to be better positioned in terms of price, considering that, as a Chinese brand, it has to break through on the European market. The screen does not slide to the passenger's side, like on the Chinese model, a very big pity. Very good idea)!!!!!!!!!!!
@@autogefuehl My situation requires that I do not use the car on a daily basis, but for personal needs, and they require longer kilometers, for such a LFP or LMFP battery is better because it has a longer life (battery capacity), is less likely to self-ignite, and can be charged regularly up to 100% with very little battery degradation. The NCM battery, on the other hand, is recommended to be charged to about 80%, because otherwise it has a large degradation in capacity and there is a greater possibility of self-ignition. When it is set that the LFP battery is charged to 100%, and the NCM to approx. 85%, it turns out that the LFP battery is a better option.
The Volvo EX30 looks good on the exterior; but it feels so cheap and empty compared to this one in the interior! Why do the Chinese have better cars than us now?!
I don't think the indicators are very safe particularly the rear ones because they are rear facing only rather than the wrap around seen from the side type. There is nothing wrong in having big corner indicators that every car driver will see rather than these silly little slow moving thin leds.
I do not believe it has a low price for a compact. Volvo EX30 is cheaper and, other a cars like Tesla 3 o byd seal which play in a higher segment are much much cheaper. Beside this, Zeeker has to proof in the EU market that is a premium car and provides premium services. Veri nice interior and exterior design.
The quality in here is insane. It makes it look like VW, Mercedes etc wasn't even trying lol. I can't understand why the premium German carmakers are lowering their material quality while new brands are getting better. It seems like pure cost cutting and greed. If they continue like this, soon the Chinese cars will dominate the industry. I was a loyal Mercedes fan since I was 12 when the W211 E Class came out in 2002. Their recent vehicles are really poorly built and have poor materials. I am over that now and won't hesitate to rather buy a Chinese vehicle which these days seem to have better quality and more features at a cost which is far less. Relying on brand name is not enough anymore.
I don't know. I'd have to sit inside it and use it for awhile to assess the quality. Then, what is it like after a few years of use? The core solidity of European cars lasts a long time even if there is obvious cost cutting in some areas.
@@benjaminsmith2287 Not really. The W205 C Class for example has cracking armrest and peeling metal look bits even on lower mileage cars. It's like that because it's cheap materials being used. The cheaper the materials, the more easy it is to scratch and mark. That's why economy cars with hard plastics rarely look great inside after a few years. VW/Audi and Mercedes have gone full hard plastic in certain cars of theirs and they'll look just as bad after a few years. Even the new C Class has full hard scratchy plastic on the entire bottom half of the dashboard and doors. I sat in a new GLC the other day and the panels aside the screen creak when pressed. The brand new model on the showroom floor had a scratch on the door pocket which was permanent because it is plain hard plastic. The old model used soft dense plastic there so it didn't scratch as easily. That was already a model on the showroom floor. The Chinese cars are taking over the German cars in terms of interior material and build quality.
Looks pretty good! I think it might be a better overall package compared to the EX30, but I sure hope the infantilizing cat sounds, etc. can be removed completely.
@@benjaminsmith2287 Designed, that's it. Period. Owned by China, made in China, by tens of thousands of workers in highly automated, technologically complex factories. It's a Chinese product with Sweden DNA
@@protagonist9716 I'm sorry, I don't care how much Geely owns and that in and of itself does not make Volvo in any way "Chinese." As long as Gothenburg is in charge of design, direction, most engineering and culture of the company, that's what defines it. Not ownership.
Volvo is Volvo, Geely is Geely, Polestar is mostly owned and operated by Volvo and I don't think Geely would have much discourse or control in it. And Zeekr is the pure electric car brand fully operated by Geely (similar to lynk&co while it is not electric).
@@bryanleubg Kidding yourself. Chinese Geely controls them all. I don’t think Europeans should delude themselves that Volvo is still “European” at all.
the Zeekr is actually cheaper because for the price you mentioned, you get the smaller battery at Volvo. If you compare the equipment, the Zeekr with same equipment is cheaper
@@autogefuehl still that car is not worth €45K!I would rather get the Ionic 5 or the EV6!Don’t even start with the way better value hybrids and diesels !
Nice Car, but the Price is WAY too high. If 45k and more is now considered "affordable" i have to talk with my Employer. Well, i think i can part with a Liver... 😅 No seriously, are those Car Manufacturers all gone mad (except Dacia)?
I know, but in Europe we are expected to pay much more because we are all rich or something like that. And for Prices that high we better buy domestic EV's which are sometimes even cheaper and support our own Economy.
It will be great when your review can add in the driving experience. Contrast this car with almost any recent high range Mercedes. The Merc interior looks as if a child designed their favourite space ship, and is about as usable. This, as Thomas tells us, is a premium interior where less is more - as I believe. The UI on the touchscreen, which I hate, is well offset by real buttons on the steering wheel to do things which I am most likely to want while driving, such as heating controls. This looks like a really good compromise between real haptic feel and the need to put settings behind a touchscreen where functions can be changed in software. Then you come to price and at less than €50k this does cause you think whether you really need the Mercedes. Though the review does not cover it, I would guess you do not get air suspension or 4W steering, but that to me might be the only reason to shell out for the Merc. Top speed may not be quite king of the autobahn, but 0-60 is as good as you could need. I have been critical of recent German premium brands, but it does look as if Audi (recent RS7 review) and BMWs are heading back towards interiors and UI/UX which is intuitive and pleasurable to use. And they also have the great, but expensive, engineering features. However they really ought to take a look at this car for lessons in understated premium quality.
Driver's display and heads up display make this a better prospect over an EX30 for me. But 550,000 Swedish Krona is £40,000. I don't think it's £6000 better than a Volvo EX30.
Volvo EX30 should be replacement for my XC40T5. After presentation yesterday in cologne itˋs out of the race. Cheap Interieur, no cockpit display, HUD, jalousie and movable rear seats and 52k € for 4wd its 6k € more expensive than Smart #1 and a lot more than Xeekr X.
We also have many excellent electric vehicle brands in China, such as BYD, LEAPMOTOR, NIO, Zhiji, and avatar. We welcome friends from all over the world who love electric vehicles to learn about them and wish everyone the opportunity to buy their favorite electric vehicles
It's tricky. Volvo is a Euro brand sold for decades in the USA and Polestar is seen as part of Volvo. Lotus is a Euro brand as well. USA isn't looking at the parent company but the direct company. Zeekr is a new brand and does Volvo and Polestar really want to compete with Zeekr and Lynk and Co as slightly cheaper cars that share platform and some other elements? I don't think the price will be that much less, however, due to tariffs and other factors.

At first I found its face too busy (compared to the Volvo), but it quickly grows on me. Looks like a great car.
Except the blue interior and C-pilar color gimmick, and the door handles which will make the paint suffer with rings.
looks amazing. build quality as well.
Beautiful. I'll definitely give serious consideration if they come to Malta 🇲🇹

Thanks, Thomas, brilliant review. The only questions left unanswered are - when will it come to Germany and under what price?
Thanks 🙏 Germany will follow soon after netherlands and sweden and prices probably like in netherlands
It’s a stunning car.The real world range would be off putting for me.I,d want a bigger battery.
Here they also have 100 and 140kwh batteries with 630 and 830km range
I see the real city test. The 140KWH version can run 900+KM.
Nice exterior Design, the interior looks very luxury, i like a lot the colors combination, the logo is very similar to Sennheiser
The facelifted A-class hybrid cost 55000 € now, its crazy. I can get a full EV for the same money. My petrol A-class cost 40 000 €.
to compare with same E car in Chinese market price, that will make you crazy. for this one start from around 24.3K Euro, BMW IX now drive away price start from around 64K Euro, EQE Saloon start from less than 51K Euro, crazy price war🤣
One thing the Chinese brands aren't good with is a brand identity. They always have a million different brands and sub-brands.
That's because there are different customer segments for them. I say western brands do not provide enough diversity🤪

Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
Really excited to see it live 😎 In several areas it seems to be a step above Volvo's EX30. Same, but different 😂 In a good way actually

Thanks 🙏 what rear panel?

Do you have opportunity to test some latest Geely models? This brand grown up nicely.
Yes. 001 review coming up!
@@autogefuehl awesome!
Beautiful in all aspects
Been waiting for this to come to Europe! But what a shame they took so many things off even the charging port mechanism and the price under 50k euros would be too much. Considering the top spec is selling in china is 32k euros.
It would make much sense if top spec is 40k euro
yeah, 50k for such a small car would not be a smart move 😅
👍👍👍

Not at all indeed! but for premium ev
@@autogefuehl may be premium (some may argue), but small ev. its nice, but starting at 50k is pretty high...

@@autogefuehl ok, i misunderstood the pricing... i thought it's the starting price. 👍 i hope starting price will get under 35k, if the industry really want switch to EV we need more smaller (non SUV), more affordable EV cars for ordinary people....
I just bought a Zeekr X, 5 seats, rear wheel drive.
To me this is a more premium and sensible Volvo EX30 and I really like it.
I know it is unlikely that the Zeekr will come to the US - but it sure would be great if it did!
north america is joke when we talk about options for cars...
Zeekr's cousin Link & Co maybe coming to the US
You can get more fun on 4 seat version, but Unfortunately, it seems they are not available for sale in Europe
Thank you for an informative in-depth review - compared to the majority of others, your review is actually the best
Highly appreciated! Please recommend our channel 😎
Is there a Regulations that in Europe the Screen is not allowed to move to the Passenger side? i mean that was 1 of the Selling points of the Zeeker X in China.
this is the first car with moving screen, i guess there is no regulation for this
Actually, i thk setting up starting sound is pretty cool idea. Almost every ev cars that recently made just have too silent alert to notice whether its ready to go or not.
really interested in the charging curve. US won't get this model but I'm interested in EX30 and it should charge the same
Hopefully the charging capability doesn't fall victim to Volvo's cost cutting.
Excellent video sir
🙏🙏
Between the Volvo, Zeekr and Smart, this wins hands down . Hope Zeekr expands fast, and it would be great if they add integrated google like a Volvo. Volvo’s latest cars (the EX range) feels cheapstakes in my opinion

Really liked the idea of moving center screen. Front passenger could better act as a co pilot for example setting navigation for the driver. And that is not allowed in EU?😢
Looks really nice!
Thanks 🙏
Good points
I thought so too but they dont want to use Volvo’s network to stay separate
They won't use the same dealer infrastructure because they are different brands. Sometimes, you can with Polestar at Volvo but only sometimes.
Why would that different chemistry be bad?
NMC. Just the smaller battery in the Volvo EX30 is LFP
Thanks for elaborating!!
impressive, looks more premium than an Audi A3
Why are big manufacturers VW/Toyota fumbling spectacularly on infotainment system while new starts like BYD/Tesla/Nio/Lucid/Geely nailing it?
Thomas is so knowledgeable and handsome
The Volvo EX30 looks good on the exterior; but it feels so cheap and empty compared to this one in the interior! Why do the Chinese have better cars than us now?!
is it April 1st?
I don't think the indicators are very safe particularly the rear ones because they are rear facing only rather than the wrap around seen from the side type. There is nothing wrong in having big corner indicators that every car driver will see rather than these silly little slow moving thin leds.
I do not believe it has a low price for a compact. Volvo EX30 is cheaper and, other a cars like Tesla 3 o byd seal which play in a higher segment are much much cheaper. Beside this, Zeeker has to proof in the EU market that is a premium car and provides premium services. Veri nice interior and exterior design.
Looks so considerable.
It looks pretty good, should’ve been a hatch though, not a crossover

Geely owns a controlling 82% of stake in Volvo cars. Therefore Volvo is more Chinese than Swedish.
@@protagonist9716 I'm sorry, I don't care how much Geely owns and that in and of itself does not make Volvo in any way "Chinese." As long as Gothenburg is in charge of design, direction, most engineering and culture of the company, that's what defines it. Not ownership.

I would like more than four color choices. C'est la vie...there's always wraps.
Too bad you never reviewed that #1. 😞
This is quite a classy looking car.
Good assessment
That illuminated badge looks like a reverse light
Driver's display and heads up display make this a better prospect over an EX30 for me. But 550,000 Swedish Krona is £40,000. I don't think it's £6000 better than a Volvo EX30.
Volvo EX30 should be replacement for my XC40T5. After presentation yesterday in cologne itˋs out of the race. Cheap Interieur, no cockpit display, HUD, jalousie and movable rear seats and 52k € for 4wd its 6k € more expensive than Smart #1 and a lot more than Xeekr X.

Great value price and what you get.
