  • Hi everyone!
    This was my first night shift ever, and I will be working night shift unless I magically get shifted to days or if I find an opening so keep an eye open for more of these types of videos!
    My sleep is now officially all over the place if it was not already since being at home. I am clinical technician, basically almost like a medical assistant.
    If you guys like these kinds of videos let me know and I'll post more, or videos on how to get a job at the hospital, the training process, things like that, how I get ready for night shifts. Let me know if you wanna see those kinds of videos.
    I love all of you guys thank you so much for watching I appreciate it.

      Girl Im gonna post an update soon Im getting so burnt out my unit gets like heavy assignments. Good luck on your first shift, I highly suggest naps before work and eyedrops bc my eyes get dry when Im tired. Take lotion and pens bc sanitizer dries your hands out. Little things like that! 🤍🤍I hope your first night goes well!

      🤍🤍yesss imc was supposed to be on the floor im on too (i started five days after they moved into this new building) and then they decided they liked the old peds unit where I work bc its bigger so they took that. Our old unit is empty now. So the entire floor is pcu but it gets crazy!

    thanks for this vid!! i start night shift next week… i’m shaking in my boots lol i’m so nervous, i already worked this unit on days a while back which was so stressful so i’m hoping nights is less stressful w no feeding or baths even tho it will be tough sleep wise. ur vid helped calm my nerves though

    • @AqashaAhmed
      @AqashaAhmed  2 года назад

      Sometimes we feed at night but its not often bc most people have eaten during the day. But we do still do a ton of bathing atleast on PCU ): I now am float pool and go to different units and have switched to days! Im still orienting.
      Good luck though and dont be nervous youre gonna do awesome.

    • @AqashaAhmed
      @AqashaAhmed  2 года назад

      Congratulations!! New can be exciting and nerve wracking. The class is so much easier than real life arms, all I can say is practicing and doing it will help you get better! At my unit team members are eager to volunteer their arms to newbies so we can all get better (as long as charge and management isnt watching) loll but yea just do your best to pay attention and then just practicing in real life.

    • @AqashaAhmed
      @AqashaAhmed  3 года назад +1

      I think it can be slightly less hectic bc you don’t see as many doctors and don’t usually see visitors unless they spend the night or are a special exception due to covid! also night differential is amazing! Xx but sleep schedule being messed up idk if its worth it entirely but I like doing it I don’t wanna switch to days.

    • @AqashaAhmed
      @AqashaAhmed  3 года назад +4

      Im a Clinical Technician, at other hospitals they call ithem patient care technicians! Basically the nurses slave. LOL Do anything from puttin in foleys, placing IVs, taking patient to restroom, getting them random things they want, cleaning em up, chart vitals, the only thing we cant do is pass meds or do assessments.

    Get compression socks. They help your feet so much and they prevent varicose veins.
