    My father just survived cardiac arrest and was in the hospital for six days before being discharged. The PCTs really gave him such compassionate care, and helped my family feel so much at ease when we had to leave for the night. Y’all really make a difference! ❤️

    this video is so well-demonstrated & informational !! I’m a senior in high school and signing up for the CNA program after 2nd semester ends. I plan to get the certification and work at a hospital. I have a few questions. What are the pros & cons of being a Nurse? Do you prefer working full-time or part-time? Does the program requires a lot of studying and what are your recommendations for exams? Thank you. - Autumn.

    • @Kenzzmacon
      @Kenzzmacon  Год назад +6

      Hi Autumn! I’m currently in pre-nursing school right now with plans to start nursing school next semester. So I’m not in the nursing program yet just working as a CNA😭 I got my CNA certification when I was in highschool through a health related club called HOSA. The CNA/PCT program did require a lot of studying because you have to take a certification exam so I studied for months but I don’t think it’s that hard. I would prefer working part time if you plan on going to RN school because working full time 12 hours while in school is way too much unless you do online. I would say the pros of my job is getting to meet new people, getting health care experience in because you get to see the reality of it vs what you see on tv or read in textbooks, looks good on your resume, and you can get to experience what the nurses really do, also it pays good money if you pick up extra shifts. The cons are it’s high demand so you will be overworked alot sometimes with 10-12 patients a piece and it can be really hard, it’s even harder when you don’t get a good RN to work with and they’re lazy and won’t help you out and then get an attitude when you ask for help.I also have another video on my channel explaining the pros and cons of it if you’d like to tune in :)! But overall it’s a REALLY good job for someone who wants to go into nursing! Thanks for watching!

    • @Kenzzmacon
      @Kenzzmacon  Год назад +2

      Yes I know they have certain CNA or PCT type training classes. You should be able to look up online PCA Certification training classes near you. Or I know a lot of the times people can take it as an online course. I took the exam when I was in highschool so it was provided in highschool so I’m not 100 percent sure. But I wish you the best of luck on trying to find a PCA job :) I’ll be making a RUclips video giving tips to new PCAS!

    • @Kenzzmacon
      @Kenzzmacon  Год назад +3

      Hey thanks for watching!! & im not going to lie its not the work that’s hard it’s the workload. A lot of the time we are short staff so on good days when we have about 4 patients it’s not too bad. But on days when there is barely any PCA’s on the floor you might get 10-12 patients and it is hard. You have to constantly run from room to room and get the patients what they need on top of still getting your duties done on time and charting information in the computer. Also, another big thing is the RN’s don’t help a lot of the time. So that can make it hard too. But other than that I love being a PCA mostly because it’s giving me early medical experience!

    • @Kenzzmacon
      @Kenzzmacon  7 месяцев назад

      It just depends on how many complete or assist patients I get. If I get all completes then I’ll have to give everyone a bath or if I get only 1 complete I’ll just give one bath and anyone else who asks or needs assistance with bathing!

    • @Kenzzmacon
      @Kenzzmacon  Год назад +6

      I write the report first using the room number and then I write if they’re a self, assist, or complete. Then I write the way they use the bathroom so like foley, purewick, assist to the bedside commode or bathroom etc. if they’re a Q2 turn, if they’re a blood sugar check and any additional notes like if they have a sitter or a telesitter, if they have Covid or TB, or they’re NPO so for example:
      RM 001- Self
      RM 002- Assist to BSC, NPO, BS
      RM 003- Complete, pads, Foley, Q2 Turn, Covid
      RM 004- Assist w/ urinal, BS
