My flight to London on Emirates Business Class is US$3,868. Qatar was charging $5,745. Qatar will also switch me to a smaller plane on one leg while Emirates will be in the A380 on both legs. With that in mind, the nearly $2K to fly Qatar ain't worth it as I can use that money saved on a much nicer hotel in London.
great review, but I preferred Qatar Airways. I used to fly Emirates before and Etihad, but I stop because I felt and saw that through the years the money I paid for both airlines is not worth it. I love the qsuite of Qatar and their services, from ground service to their call center services is really helpful. The food is always good in Qatar no matter what route and time you are having. I experienced flying from manila to dubai which has an 8 hrs flight having just a steam bun as their main course for business class, plus I also experienced to them late luggage that was delivered in our hotel after 5 days which destroy our vacation. Qatar small details of everything like the pajamas and less chatty is good for me to enjoy my travels. Their airport lounges is amazing too. I know we all have different preferrence in traveling but Qatar Airways for me is the best in Middle East Airlines.
Haven't flown by Emirates, but my first business class flight was on Qatar and I loved it so much. It's currently about 2K more compared to Emirates on the same business class, so that's the only drawback imo!
Loved the review! The points about Emirates customer service outside of in-flight being poor is correct. I bought a biz class award ticket through them to fly JAL biz and needed to modify the date. They botched it leaving my 100K points in limbo as they finally admitted they had no idea how to do it and had no idea how to return my pts to my account. Resulted in me pushing them to call JAL to get it resolved. It's fine now but that was nearly a month getting it fixed.
Great review. I really appreciate the level of detail about the small nuances between the 2 airlines. Very excited for my first experience flying Emirates next month.
@@TopFlightFamily Will be flying Tokyo to Barcelona via Dubai and same route back. Economy on the outbound and first on the return flights ( will get to experience the Game Changer from Dubai to Tokyo).
However, personally, I think Emirates has vastly superior customer service on the ground than Qatar. All of Emirates' call centers are very responsive and helpful, while in my experience it is very hard even to get on call with Qatar airways centers. Also, if you miss your connection, emirates offers free hotels and meal vouchers in dubai
Great review! I finally got to experience Qatar‘s Qsuites and I absolutely loved it! It was my first time flying business class (I’m 18 and flew by myself just to make this dream come true) and it was totally worth it! 4 flights with Qatar, 4 times Qsuite! Now that I see your videos on Emirates, I kind of want to try out that product next. I just couldn’t find any good deals on their business product though. Any tips for the future?🤝
We just flew Qatar Airways QSuites last month from MNL to JFK and were very pleased with the service and delicious food, especially the dine on demand feature. We were also very pleased with the Business Class Lounges in Hammad International Airport. We’re already looking forward to our next flight. Thanks for sharing your review.
But that’s why they’re (Qatar) 1st in Business. Q suites will be considered first class for most airlines around the world. For most passengers, business class is enough. Even airline crew will tell you fly business over first class you will save money, rest, and eat well. Emirates ‘game changer’ first class is an experience in of it self but does not fill the need for most business travelers hence Q Suites usually wins overall.
@@JeanClaudeCOCO depends as well, there nothing first class on the qsuite i took. many of the food selection ran out, my suite door couldnt close, my order for drinks went forgotten, had to remind a few times. The probably of getting qsuite when you buy business is low as well. Getting 1st based on the small amount of fleet is just misleading
Agree. Back in december, I flew to the philippines and something happened to their radar. So we got diverted to HK, waited for a few hours and nothing, got deplaned and stayed in the lounge. We tried to keep getting an update and no luck. Qatar airways didnt even book hotel rooms for us. Business class passengers were stuck in the airport lounge while ALL emirates passengers were taken care of. Emirates booked hotel rooms for all their passengers. very disappointed. We were stuck from 5p till 11am the next day. It was ridiculous and uncomfortable.
Hi. Lovely family! And great review. I had seen your Qatar flight review previously and I remember the horror of your multiple test requirements experience which ruined your entire trip. But I would like to suggest that maybe the problem was more with the timing of your flight than the Airline. COVID was just such a terrible time to fly. Very brave of you and your family to even attempt to. Flying Q-Suites with my family of 4 in August and we already booked the Quad. Can't wait!😊😊😊
Nice video but I have to say emirates’ service on the ground especially the call center is miles ahead of Qatar. As a platinum member on both airlines emirates has a dedicated number for platinum members while when I flew Qatar and my flight was cancelled I was on the phone for more than 2 hours as a platinum member
Love the video. It's very difficult to choose and depends on individual travel preferences. I think the Emirates chauffeur is a big plus point and their on-board bar is terrific. I found the Emirates seat in lie-flat more comfortable (Q suites was great but I found the cubby hole area for my feet less comfortable) but Emirates is a bit blingy (not that this matters too much). Food I couldn't say - both were very good (best food i've ever had on was Etihad pre-Covid days). And lounges - a mix again - I prefer the Emirates lounge at London to Qatar...but prefer the Qatar lounge in Doha to the Emirates lounge in Dubai. But I don't like the Emirates 2-3-2 configurations - I've not experienced the Qatar equivalents.
Heyyyyy. The closet we’ll get to business or 1st class is JetBlue’s extra legroom seats 💺 😂😂 and looking at your vlogs. So both good. And even though the check in for Qatar was stressful; the in flight service and amenities were superb. Gonna watch the Qatar vid next. Thanks so much.
Great video. I’ve only flown Emirates and just recently tried the Biz Class 380 and it was amazing. Even the customer service was extremely helpful. I was hesitant about the Qatar because of recent reviews before I booked my flight, but I will definitely give it try so I can compare. Thanks again, I love your videos. ❤
You are not really comparing like with like because the seats on A380 Qatar are completely different to QSuites and have a horrible reverse herring bone seats.
Great review, Qsuits for a family sounds like a great idea, definitely think about Qatar. Plus I agree outside of the flight the experience on the ground is not fun. We flew from Sydney to Barcelona on Emirates business class. Emirates app is woeful too. I probably fly Qantas, British, Cathay or Air France next time, mainly cause more better experience all round

Great review, spot on about the customer service. im a frequent business class flyer with qatar more than 30 long haul flights. They recently changed my flight schedule and tossed my seat selection, I gave them a call and reached a outsourced Indian call center who flat out told me off, customer service is horrendous, rude and unprofessional. It will be Emirates for me.
That’s a great review. Another recent video suggested that the morale of qatar staff was flagging and it has affected its in-flight product. Also, you spoke at the end about very poor on the ground and call center service and that is very true for Qatar. I’ve not traveled Emirates enough to comment. 🇹🇹
- The Emirates rest area loungers are always occupied specially in the evenings - Qatar first class lounge is awesome the Safwa. - you are absolutely right about customer service. I had a terrible experience with QR

QR, me too its indian outsourced, basically the cheapest lowest quality experience you could have. They are sick and tired of talking to well off passengers and defin let you have it.
Thank you for this comparison video. Some Emirates 777s will be reconfigured into 1-2-1. For me the main drawback with Qatar Airways is the QSuites are hit-and-miss in terms of whether you are actually going to get them. Many have complained about getting "Qatared" if you know what I mean. At least with Emirates, you can trust that the aircraft (including the configuration) you see at booking is what you're going to get. I must admit though that if your Qatar Airways aircraft get "downgraded" to a non-QSuite 777, then it will still be a 2-2-2 configured business class, better than the Emirates' 2-3-2.
😊almost booked business class with Delta for Dubai trip. Wanted to use my skymiles. After this video, I am saving those miles and paying to go on Emirates.
Emirates customer service is outstanding from anywhere in the world so i would dispute this review on this. I am flying out of Dublin in December on a 777 and found the review helpful and agree Emirates need to up their game . How can they charge Business Class for a substandard plane that hasnt been upgraded to Dubai?
Flew Qatar out of Dulles in the Q suite, unfortunately, the second leg of the flight was in the old business seats what a drastic difference. The lounges in Hammad are amazing, and so is the oryx hotel.
Well done. Your assessments are really point on. & cover everything. Highlighting the nuances of a passenger’s expectations and potential options for premium seats & service. From pre to post flights.
Thanks for the wonderful review. I will be flying Qatar in October from WDC to Singapore via Doha. I want to compare my experience to Singapore Airlines which I flew last year from EWR to SIN. Thanks again.....and by the way, a new subscriber to your channel.
Good to see a review about a flight that is paid for in cash not points (or freebies). Emirates is always great, though as a single traveller I would not like to be stuck in any middle seat. Yet to try Qatar, but they do my route from Brisbane to Dublin, so looking forward to trying them soon.
So Qsuites are wonderful - best in class but Qatar’s customer service is the pits if things go wrong - they treat their customers so poorly - be warned, even business class passengers (not that it should matter!). For me this is why Emirates always wins out!
EK isn't really "upgrading" it's business class on the 380. Just a change of carpets, wallpaper and new upholstery in some cases. They real upgrade they were talking about is adding PW. It's still gonna be same seat.
Definitely EK for me, especially when flying in economy class. Had some shocking experiences with Qatar. EK were far better 20 years ago with 5 course meals in economy. Qatar were good however in 2003 also but when they grew too fast it went downhill just as fast. To comment, what is the issue with the traditional cocktails? I much prefer them and if you have an imagination you create your own. I wouldn’t be so spoiled and picky to make such a judgement in any case. Drinks like Aperol Spritz have also been around just as long and is a German traditional cocktail. It’s just with more International choices rather than what you’d class an adult in 2023 lol. On the premium cabins I would rather fly the Japanese carriers than these Middle Eastern aeroplanes, and of course avoid any of the US carriers.
It depends also on the plane...A380 Emirates Business was an amazing experience. 777 Emirates Business was great as well, however I loved the A350 Qsuite with Qatar :)
Great review! Just to say, when you fly out of Dubai o Emirates Biz/1st you actually use their dedicated check in area that is totally separate from economy. Not as nice as Qatar Biz/1st at Hamas but still way better than the experience out in the out stations (like London / New York). overall I slightly prefer Qatar over Emirates though Emirates 1st on the A380 with the shower option is possibly the best overall experience. Anyway they both leave all the US/European airlines way behind, with a few exceptions - Virgin clubhouses at LHR and JFK are awesome and are still my favourite lounge experiences.
Oh and the Virgin wing at LHR is cool - the taxi drops you off right by the check-in area and they take your bags straight from the taxi. That's the only place I've seen that.
You are not the first, second or third reviewer that states that the out of flight customer service of these airlines is terrible. Sad that’s true, they need to listen to reviewers and try to change it. In contrast, as a United 1k, their customer service is great. Inflight sucks….everything about it. Only the Polaris seat is good. But that’s about it
been on Emirates, bad start as they changed my purchased seats without ever informing me. I found out at check-in. Also the flight attendants were more busy with themselves than actually provide service. Professionalism is just not there with Emirates. Qatar is much better, 24-7 live chat, I got all my issues solved.
Kinda funny to see the difference between people. When I travel, even in first class, it’s to get to a certain destination. Your “complaints” about cocktails, are exact the opposite for me. If I want a posh cocktail, I go to a posh bar. I just love my rum and coke on any flight!
You didn’t mention the privacy door in the Q-suite. Also you wouldn’t be anywhere near as enthusiastic about Emirates if you’d endured their terrible B777 Business Class with its 2+3+2 seating configuration.
that question is very easy to answer and unfortunetely Emirates Business class are completely out dated compared to qsuite of Qatar Airways both are expensive but the experiences completely different but im' quite sure travellers who want spending money on a middle east airlines quality the majority will probably choose Qatar Airways for sure even Etihad is better than Emirates
Qatar crew are not chatty because of their lifestyle. They live under curfew and have something called minimum rest and no that is not because of covid it is because of the CEO brilliant ideas. Their salaries are also 30% less than Emirates and both countries are almost equally expensive when it comes to the costs of living. Qatars management is the one focused on dictatorship thus the crew are scared of loosing the job for the smallest things and there is nobody to support them. The only good thing about it is the mentioned Qsuite when it comes to business. Emirates is more luxury and has better crew in business in general because they select the best of the best. Economy is equally bad when it comes to the food but Qatar has better experience overall in Economy. Also one interesting fact is that we know that CEOs of both airlines pay a good amount of cash to pay influencers to say good things. If you fly a lot try talking to both crew, you may found out a lot of interesting stuff 😄
The better test is how was the economy flight. Few people fly Business or First class. I flew Qatar economy using points and it was serviceable. The smart play especially on really long haul flights is to pay more to upgrade your economy seat to either the front row of any economy section or the exit rows therein. You will have plenty of leg room and will be able to get up easily and move around. If not this then pay extra for an aisle seat. Another possibility is at the rear of the plane. At the very rear next to the galley. Again, you can get up easily. just do this and it wont be bad. Keep in mind transit times too. If you are at the rear this really becomes an issue as its a real pain to do transit in Doha. We had to go through security inspections of everything twice. Once in transit and the other at the gate itself. Just be it advised. Premium economy if you want to splurge is a great alternative. Think Business light. Good choice.
qatar pays way less salary to its employees compared to Emirates. that's y they are not chatty and happy. Emirates is fun..most of most qatar employees want to join Emirates ..
I personally hate Qatar airlines.. Have flown both (not business class though) but I’d rather fly Emirates anytime.. I don’t want to vent here but to make story short, I’ve traveled internationally multiple times a year through different airlines and countries.. And I’ve just never experienced the worst and most discriminating customer service on the ground, the flight, and even the people at the main hub and security peeps in Doha were just the worst (and this sadly from a few travels with Qatar). The only reason they became #1 in the world rn is because Singapore Airline had to shut down for almost 2 years during COVID so their ratings went downhill and now it’s generally super expensive to fly Singapore. I only fly Qatar when there’s absolutely no other airline to choose from. But then idk, maybe I’d have to fly business class on Qatar to actually be treated as a human being. 🤷🏻♀️
My flight to London on Emirates Business Class is US$3,868. Qatar was charging $5,745. Qatar will also switch me to a smaller plane on one leg while Emirates will be in the A380 on both legs. You didn’t mention the privacy door in the Q-suite. Also you wouldn’t be anywhere near as enthusiastic about Emirates if you’d endured their terrible B777 Business Class with its 2+3+2 seating configuration.
most people want to know about the economy class ..
I have flown both and Qatar wipes the floor with Emirates and the decor in the Emirates cabin is crass.
You’re not a fan of the golden wood? 😅 Yeah I totally forgot to mention that but for sure, Qatar’s decor is 100x more sophisticated
And the doubling down of the 3 seats in a row tacky gold wood and trim gives me eye sores.
I agree , Qatar Q Suites win hands down. Although when u flew from LHR to RUH i didnt get any pyjamas....😔
Great Video! I have flown both Emirates A380 Business Class and Qatar Qsuites and I agree that Qsuites is better
I’m a college student who just checked his bank statement before buying food so I don’t what tf RUclips thought sending this my way
that question is very easy to answer and unfortunetely Emirates Business class are completely out dated compared to qsuite of Qatar Airways both are expensive but the experiences completely different but im' quite sure travellers who want spending money on a middle east airlines quality the majority will probably choose Qatar Airways for sure even Etihad is better than Emirates
The Qatar A380 also has the bar lounge too
Qatar crew are not chatty because of their lifestyle.
I will stick with first class and keep praying i don't find children around me.
You spend many hours in the plane witch is more important. Then being on the ground.
Qatar
is good The food is not good but The staff are kind you know I’m just a kid so I will always have something like a present
I love them both but my favourite is Qatar thought I fly Emirates more often
Good choice.
i like both airlines
I flew emirates business class and I actually liked Turkish airlines better
I like Qatar Q suit 😍
Sounds like Qatar airlines was very stressful. That check in it sounds amazing
QR Qsuites is way better than EK business.
qatar pays way less salary to its employees compared to Emirates. that's y they are not chatty and happy. Emirates is fun..most of most qatar employees want to join Emirates ..
Qatar economy had a budget airline feel to me.
It's qatar
Great video! I prefer Qatar, BY FAR!
Take note Delta, AA, BA, KLM/AF… different league
This family has got money!😂😂
Emirates by a mile for me
I was disappointed with the video sibce you didnt go to Qatars lounge!
