We quickly ordered "really great cat litter" directly with tuft and paw (not via amazon, but available) after an awful month a ammonia smell filling our house with pellet litter. Which we switched to from "lightweight litter - but it was getting everywhere too with our cat. Very happy. It's all natural and came within 2 days (THANK GOD!) and NO SMELL and hardly any tracking around the house at all. I loved this video! My cat is 16 and has a lot of trouble with tracking litter and getting it stuck between his hind paws. I do my best trying to find the best litter and litter boxes but so far I've been unsuccessful. I love my kitty SO much and just want him to be happy but I also have a husband who is definitely NOT a cat person so I'm trying to keep the peach between the two. I ordered the top entry litter box and the tofu litter you suggested along with the litter I normally use to transition. I'm praying this will work! I have no issue with the tracking but I know the litter between his paws is very uncomfy for him. Thank you for all you do for the animals and their people!
I am currently transitioning my Hazel kitty to the tofu litter and was so glad to find all the helpful videos. So far, it is going well and I really like the new litter.
1) I just adopted a new cat . 2) I am anxiously waiting for the arrival of my cove litter box. 3) I have already received my first shipment of tofu litter. Are you saying wait to try the box with old litter first (ick) I hope I can get this in the right order (my older cat is allowing the new cat to use the box and have not seen evidence of messes yet). I ordered the Cove because I have new floors and wanted something a bit more "upscale". Am I thinking through this right?
Congrats on the new family member! It's entirely up to you whether you'd like to switch the cat litter or litter box first. Seeing as you already have the new litter on-hand, it might be a good idea to get them comfortable with tofu litter (slowly transitioning) paired with your existing litter box first. Once the Cove arrives, depending how far along you are in the litter transition, you can swap litter boxes if you think the cats are comfortable with their new litter. Hope this helps!

I'm using recycled paper pellets. He likes it. But I need to switch it in just a few days. All the other types of litters I've tried to switch him onto he wants to eat. The type I want him to be on is the tofu one. But I can't even put a scoop into his normal litter because he will scoop it out and eat it.. I am at my wits end. Desperately want some tips.
This could also be a medical reason why they’re avoiding the box. Not just because they don’t like the litter. If your cat stop using his or her litter box regardless of having changed it please bring your cat to the vet to rule out potentially life threatening reasons they’re avoiding.
I made a new sifting litter box and it's BESIDE their regular litter box- that's the only place I'll put it. They stand and look at it and sniff around-- so maybe they'll change to it themselves in a few days... and I'll keep mixing a few pellets in with the clay since they are IGNORING it now..
AS to SCENT---I've used scented and unscented- and my 3 boys don't seem to pay any attention to that at all, so i can't figure out why they're not going to the pellets-- unless it maybe hurts their feet- but I put some in the clay and they ignore it.
Wet the pine pellets, when they're in the litter box, it will soften them and maybe help them get used to it. I use a spray bottle with warm water in it to moisten the pellets.
@@jude7321 I mixed a lot of "soft wood" in with them and they DO walk on them- two of my three used it ONCE or twice, then quit.. This is worth a shot- thanks..

I have lots of issues (got mashed between 2 trucks in 99 and bad healtth- respiratory issues being ONE of them-- and I know it's BAD for them too). So far they LOOK at the pellets- but won't go in them. I put a few in on top of the clay- and they ignore those. The pine pellets are kiln dried and NOT suppose to have a smell- and since I can't smell- I don't know. I also want to COMPOST the "sawdust" for my roses. AS I said- so far they're NOT doing anything but looking at it. (I'm on half the SS I was suppose to get- so can't go MORE expensive than the normal clay if the wood doesn't work)

That’s what I’ve been using for many years because it’s flushable and bio-degradable. I decided to try the soy litter that you mentioned but just wanting to know what your opinion is of the corn litter. Thanks.
It’s up there in the top 5 natural cat litters for us! Pros are good clumping, good odor control, unscented, paw-friendly texture and flushable. Cons would be that it can track because of the fine texture, it’s slightly dusty, and some folks dislike the smell. So it just depends what features are most important to you :)
Hello! I’m trying to transition my cats to tofu litter. I bought the cove litter box and poured all tofu litter (Michu brand original scent). Kept the old box (enclosed litter box) right next to it with the original clay litter. My one cat accommodated just fine and uses the tofu litter. My other picky cat initially used the tofu but I realized he only pees in it, and REFUSES to poop in it. I blocked off the clay litter box and he refused the tofu litter, almost pooped in his bed before I let him into the clay. It’s been 3 weeks and I think he already made up his mind that he hates the tofu to poop. Any advice? I don’t want to mix the litters because one time I did that with pine and he purposely pooped in two of his beds 😭 I really love the tofu litter and just want to transition him over. I also tried giving him treats the times he did use it but now he stopped using it all together. Pls help! Thank you.
Hey there! Unfortunately it sounds like there may have been too many changes at once for your more sensitive cat (changing both the litter box and cat litter at the same time). As much as you don't want to mix litters, we'd strongly suggest this method for a very gradual and slow transition. As to avoid other changes, we'd recommend keeping the enclosed litter box around with about 80% clay on top and 20% tofu on the bottom. Week over week, gradually increase the proportion of new litter, always keeping the new stuff on the bottom. We'd also recommend keeping a piece of their waste in the litter box just so they know it's their spot even as the tofu amount increases. The entire process may take a few weeks, but we've found that this is what works best! Once your cat is comfortable with 100% tofu litter, you can ditch the enclosed litter box and just stick to the Cove. Hope this helps!
My cat likes her litter but I want to change it bc it’s scented. She’s used to this litter and when I did try to change it, she started having accidents around the house :(
Flushing a truly flushable cat litter would only be an issue if the cat goes outside or is fed a raw diet. The main concern with flushing cat feces is if it's carrying toxoplasma gondii. Indoor cats are extremely unlikely to become infected as long as they are fed a commercial food diet 🙂

Seeing as you already have the new litter on-hand, it might be a good idea to get them comfortable with tofu litter (slowly transitioning) paired with your existing litter box first.

I USED TO BUY CLAY LITTER BUY NOR ANYMORE.! I BUY OCOCAT, AND I DONT USE SCENTED LITTER. THE LITTERBOX IS OPEN WITH A LOW OPENING.

Have you tried switching superrrrrrr slowly? Like, VERY slowly, with the new litter underneath of her regular litter?
