  • Ball pythons are very popular pet snakes and are often recommended as good snakes for beginners. In fact, my very first pet snake was a ball python! If you're considering a ball python as a pet, this video will tell you things that I wish I knew before getting a ball python and will give you information that I believe is important to take into consideration to help you decide if a ball python is the right pet for you or not.

    Great video, and great advice. I've had my ball python since 2019. Got him as a baby, from a trusted breeder,. He made sure he was eating well before sending him. I did my research and also have learned so much since having him. It has been a joy. If I may one thing to what you said, is this, never stop learning! Peace, love and blessings! ❤❤❤

    another great video
    I was happy to hear you point out the spider problem and that all snakes are individuals. I've been kepping Ball Pythons off and on since 1990 and have plenty of experiance with them being individuals.

    This is definitely an interesting and insightful vid about ball python info💯. Who knew that ball pythons could be picky enough to go through time periods of not eating; kind of reminds me of my dog sometimes 😆. Does this kind of behavior also happen for other snakes as well?

    • @EmmaLynneSampson
      @EmmaLynneSampson  7 месяцев назад

      It can definitely happen with any species of snake!! But in my experience it’s waaay more common in ball pythons than a lot of other species

    I got a ball python as my first pet, at first I regretted it because i couldn’t get his tempature right and at first
    didn’t have anything he needed, all I had was a lamp with a night light, now I’m glad I got him sense I have gotten all the essentials and more, at this point the only thing I don’t like is that the reptile community doesn’t give straight foward answers, but I have realized it is all specific to ur snake

      There’s definitely a lot of conflicting information out there which can make thing’s challenging!

    I also agree that ball pythons aren’t a beginner pet, not because of their demeanor, but because of the humidity and care requirements! Corn snakes are much easier

      Corn snakes are great for first time owners!!

    You said it yourself, if you're researching. Rather than go for opinions go for the research. The research has no spectrum. The old folk husbandry is outdated. We now know science based husbandry.

    Hi Emma! I have had my ball python since 2016 and I currently have her in a 75 gallon tank because she is huge and very active (which there are no issues at all. She eats and sheds great) but I was thinking about getting a grow tent for her. Would you think it’s a good/ bad idea?
    There are so many different opinions on the care of ball pythons and I’m always trying to improve in good ways to insure she lives her best life. I trust your opinion.🫶❤️
