Absolutely great combination of woods Mike. The bowl is an absolute delight. You are so careful as you analyse what you have before you & how you feel you will get the 'best' result. I like this bowl much, much better than the test piece in "It's all in the name of Science" video. This appeals MUCH more to my engineering sense of symetry. It's a very classy look; whoever wins it is very fortunate. Great video!

Hi Steve, yep a bandsaw is on my list but the one I would like will take some saving up for. The mitre saw did a good job though, leaves a great finish on the cut! 😃

I am glad you cut off the sharp corners. In my shop if I did not cut off such corners, I would have "Murphy" deciding to break off pieces.
I love turning sycamore and walnut. I have a couple of pieces of ebony but not yet used in a project.
Nice touch on the fireworks at the end.

The contrast between all three woods is fantastic. Many turners combine a light wood with walnut which is fine but your bowl is a nice change. Great vid.

Beautiful. While you were doing the glue up I started to wonder what it would take to make a blank with a plaid pattern
It would take a lot of time and a lot of accuracy but it is very possible. When I get my new bandsaw I will be giving things like this a go.
