  • Hello friends, I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy!
I've gotten a lot of comments here, and messages on Instagram, about how to make my first macrame Christmas tree smaller. I didn't have any answers because I had never tried it, but after some trail and error (and lots of untying!) I have made a somewhat similar pattern in a much smaller size that would be perfect to hang on your Christmas tree. I hope you enjoy making these as much as I do!
A friendly reminder that you can adjust the playback speed of this, or any of my tutorials, just tap your screen and hit those three little dots.
If you are using a thicker cord, you need to cut more length, there is no way for me to know for sure unless I saw it with my own two eyes. Every companie's measurements vary greatly.
If you are new to macrame or need extra help with the Diagonal Clove Hitch Knot, please watch this video before you begin this project:
    MEASUREMENTS:
    WIDTH: 2.5in/6.5cm
    HEIGHT: 4in/10cm
HERE IS LINK TO THE CORD I USED: www.etsy.com/ca/listing/92364...

I love all your tutorials. Thank you for informing me about how to slow down or speed up a video with the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. NEVER knew that before. You also do great explaining your projects.
    Thank you SO much

Love that your projects often go beyond basic square knots and clove hitches! Love how you finished off this tree! Off to find some suitable cord!

I think that this is one of the best instructional videos I have ever seen. Incredibly clear and easy to follow. I see from the comments that you used 2mm cord and someone also asked about using 3mm cord. Is it possible for you to say what would the overall size be with each cord thickness? Again, thank you for such a great video.

Awesome video! I just have a little advice that at the beginning of the movie mention the total number of string and the length of the string. It will be easier than cutting the string every now and then. Greetings ❤

There is a reason for most macrame tutorials not including that information for certain patterns. Makes for less mistakes and rude people cursing you out for their own mistakes from not watching the video through before beginning it. But thanks for your critique.

I'm a beginner, and often watch an entire tutorial from beginning to end and jot down notes (pattern, string length etc.) I find it so helpful when I then slow it down, and follow along with the tutorial for the 1st time.

Do you know about the width of the cord you are using? Or do you have a basic size you suggest? Thanks!

How would I calculate the amount of cord needed if I used 3mm cord?

    • @soulfulnotions2648
      @soulfulnotions2648  3 года назад

If it isn’t this braided cord, I would add 6-10 inches, I’m not sure exactly how much with seeing your cord, the vary SO much from one company to the next, and I have only made it in this tight braided cord.
