The most expressive man in Hollywood, I swear. He isn't afraid to do crazy faces or anything, it's hilarious and epic, no one can pull it off, it's just amazing the way he moves, fast and precise, that kind of talent is something you're born with, not something you learn.
0:45 Alfred moves the tray over after being knocked out cold so it won't obstruct the door from being opened to the closet and ruin the take. Michael Gough a true professional.
I can tell Jim Carry loves and enjoy what he does because he made this character who he created impossible for anybody else to portray. He was so convincing and menacing where he was born for this role. Another thing that was interesting to me was how excellent the timing he performed during blowing the bat-cave up but maniacally laughing where spinning his riddler cane then saying Joy gasm. The look on his face is priceless
Underneath the humor and playfulness, there’s an elegance and grace with the way Carrey moves and looks as Riddler that I really appreciate. It adds to the sleek trickster element of the character.
You'd think Batman would've rigged his lair with sleeping gas or something when the intruder alarm went off. Instead of just a voice sayiing "Intruder alert!" repeatedly that no one outside of the house will hear since he doesn't want anyone finding out he's Batman.
Yeah it may not be a dark or sinister performance like Glover gave in the animated series or even Wingart gives in the Arkham games but Jim Carrey has a way of keeping a smile on your face and a laugh coming out of you so at least his version of Riddler is still entertaining to watch.
Batman Forever will always be my favorite Batman film, because it was the first version of the character I saw as a child outside of reeeeealy old episodes of SuperFriends in the early Nineties. To this day, I STILL think the most unrealistic thing about this movie is these children Trick-or-Treating to collect candy from Wayne Manor. Like...every continuity I've ever encountered says that Wayne Manor is miles and miles outside of Gotham City limits. It's in the middle of metaphorical nowhere. Who the heck gave these kids a ride out to the spooky old manor house where the billionaire playboy lives? Lol
Well if we're talking about the classic Riddler he was just as crazy and wacko as The Joker. And considering that Jim Carrey based his performance from Frank Gorshin's Riddler from the Adam West Batman this most likely is a modern-day version of that character.
@@briansivley2001 There were actually two types of Jokers in the old show. There was the funny, giddy type who Jim Carey's character is based on who was played by Frank Gorshin and then there was the more serious book smart Riddler that was played by John Aston.

@@basedbrit4206 The thing about Joker is the eternal question of whether he fought it or embraced it. The latest movie with Joaquin took the path of him slowly slipping down into it.
There are a couple scenes in Batman Forever that seem to hint at that original version where Tim Burton got to direct and Keaton still starred. Imagine how much more impact the Batcave being violated like this would've had if we were seeing it happen to Keaton's Batcave....
0:54 Remember the plan: Seize and Capture. (Two-Face exhales disappointingly and turns his attention to his henchmen) No killing. That goes DOUBLE for YOU.
As much as this movie isn't the best Batman movie, The Riddler is absolutely PERFECTLY characterised. People say he's just a Joker redo, but The Riddler was always somewhat similar to The Joker. The Joker has different motives throughout different media, but The Riddler is mainly driven by a need to be the smartest and in this version, has Disassociative Identity Disorder. He's a perfect Riddler because he's all flashy. The Riddler needs to be seen.
I know that the theme for this movie was duality and the Riddler was Bruce Wayne's Enemy as was Two-Face Batman's enemy but it makes you think if Riddler enjoyed blowing it all up because it belonged to Bruce Wayne or does he now see Bruce and Batman as one and see ot as more fun, I guess the bat themed bombs say it.
